I'm 34. Just learning about lifting and slowly working in that direction! Currently lifting lighter weights and increasing with my husbands help. Please add me if any of you are up for me learning from you!!

Ok. Thanks for your input. I'll keep at it!

@tillerstouch thank you. I added protein powder but stayed within my calories.

No, my logging is accurate. It's the bites here and there added in that aren't. That being said... It's not 4 lbs worth. My question was more in regard to the sudden increase in weight (which is new to me and I'm not new at this) with a change in type of exercise and protein intake. Thanks for your input.

Thanks @pzarnosky. 5'9" 155lb, 1550 cal/day (1lb per week loss). I have read a pile of the recomp threads but felt uncertain once the info was applied to me lol.

Wow, thank you for sharing. My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer at 31... But he lived through it all!! Walking with him and growing, cancer is a hard walk but I am so thankful for the personal growth and compassion for others that he come with it. You sound like you have grown and you are in a good place. All the…

Oh man! I'm sorry. My husband was diagnosed with "terminal" cancer at 31. He's now 35 and totally healthy. I haven't had cancer but walked through his diagnosis and treatment with him. My encouragement would be to: - Remove added sugar from your diet but beyond that eat a healthy diet that focuses on real foods (veggies,…

Wow. Well done... Working through all that!!! And meeting success and confidence

Spaghetti squash with tomatoe sauce and mozzarella cheese. Or else Brussels sprouts shredded and baked with an egg on top. Just keep at it... You'll learn as you go
-
Dairy does that to me too...

Yes, I notice it. I grew my own scoby from a bottle of GTs a few years ago and I've been making it ever since. It's easy and fun in a "science in the kitchen kind of way"
-
Wow, well done ladies. You both look great!!

It's an app now, used to be guides. You can google Kayla itsines or look her up on Instagram. Been doing BBG as well... Really enjoy how it makes me feel.

Correction, the above post was meant for you @louislove17. I apologize for the confusion @rabbitjb. I love this post
-
@rabbitjb, you need to figure out what is right for you!! My sister in law is 5'9" and 115-125lbs ish... Very thin, but normal and healthy for her. She eats well, stays active, has had kids without any problems. We are all different. If this is a healthy weight for you, that's ok!! But pushing yourself there when your body…

I've been doing it for the last few months. But I hurt my wrist and had to stop for a month+, so just getting back at it. I felt good while doing it... Strong :)

I'm starting today. Everyone please add me

Those sounds like great ideas!!! What about adding some healthy fats in liquid form (MCT coconut oil for example). Or some cream cheese?

I'm a RN. I would agree with building some healthy habits now - sleep enough, eat well and frequently, have some fun even for 10 minutes, exercise, vent in healthy ways (journal, exercise, acknowledge, be creative). Eating protein frequently with mini meals helps me... A boiled egg, a high protein granola bar with other…

Chia seeds work for me, as do flax seeds and oats. I like berries (blackberries are packed with fiber). And the fruits and veggies that your used to eating for your veggie days?? So funny how we see some things and not others depending on our focus :)

My skin broke out pretty bad when I changed the way I was eating also. Took several months to clear up... But now my skin is beautiful. I get complements on it and I always think to myself "my skin was so bad once I never thought I'd hear that". I don't believe that what we eat doesn't impact our skin. Conventional…

Ask your Dr to test you for celiac disease (I think the blood test is called antitransgluaminase, some will also do c reactive protein). If your blood work is +, then the Dr will send you for an endoscopy and biopsy. That is the test that will confirm if you have celiac disease or not. I've had celiac disease for 7 years…

My husband has AS, has for 15 years (he's 34 now). He recently started eating low carb, more "paleo" approach then not. He also focuses a lot of digestive health (bone broth, apple cider vinegar, digestive bitters). He's been eating this way for 3-4 months now and he'll often comment to me about how he feels better than he…

Wow! Well done

For me, overcoming extreme stress (about 3 years of it) included... 1 - time, for a month and a half after I decided to focus on me as well, all I did was sleep and lay on the couch (had to take a month and a half off work). 2 - eating the right foods for ME, I have celiac disease so for me this is gluten free and mostly…

What great motivation!!!!! You an do this :)
-
That happens to me too... Big time. I've been trying to have a fruit and veggie smoothie in the evenings (when I want chocolate) with cocoa powder to see if it does the trick... Worked yesterday :)
-
Wow... You are in a neat, and very positive place!!! All the best :)

Yep. Have you tried to make your "junk" healthy?? That helps me, the "deliciously Ella" cookbook is an example of this kind of tweak. I also choose to focus on being healthy... Conscious and deliberate/ intentional. Still work but I'm in control. Good luck
