I quit last year, it's sooooooo worth it! I tried to quit in January '19, but stumbled after 2 weeks when a friend offered me one in February-- I caved, and had 2, but realized it wasn't what I wanted anymore. I quit cold turkey, and it was hard, but I stopped wanting any by October. It's possible!!! I smoked for 13 years…

2 slices 40cal toast, each topped with 1tbsp cream cheese, thin slice of raw red onion, solid egg patty, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and salt. Otherwise, 2 eggs with mushrooms, garlic, broccoli, squash, whatever, with avocado and salsa. I'm vegetarian, or I'd probably be adding turkey slices.

I love cooking and baking and never get to eat much of it. I've made 2 beautiful apple pies this Fall with apples I picked myself, and only had a tiny half slice of each. I'll cook beautiful recipes from my favorite cookbook and foist them others :/

I'm just getting back to weighing and logging my food, trying to stick to 1200-1400cals. Yeah, I've noticed I'm always a little hungry....but it isn't so bad, tbh, it's better than feeling too full. Knowing that I'm eating exactly how many calories I need to run my body efficiently really helps the mental hurdle of "but…

Love it. Great job!! I'm hoping to get into cycling, myself :)

EGGS or EGG WHITES. VEGGIES. GRAIN or BEAN = bulk cook and you have your filling for the week - keep on hand with tortillas to make wraps, lettuce to make salads, add as a side to potatoes meat or veggies, you can even dump some in ramen to bulk it up and stretch it out. I'm vegetarian, and varieties of veggie meat…

IDK what this military diet is, maybe it has nothing to do with it, but: being that I have a military background, I can tell you that people in the military eat a LOT. Make sure to get the nutrients and roughage in, but otherwise, they like to eat a lot and burn a lot. Eat a whole pizza, run 10 miles. MRE's are a bare…

I have Hashimotos, have lost 40 with 60 to go. Congrats on the baby!

I weigh everything, and the 1,400 came from a nutritionist after metabolic testing. She said it was very unfortunate. Like I said above, I can and have gained 20lbs in 18 days before, and just recently went on a trip where I gained 10kbs in 2 weeks. My resting HR is 55, my blood pressure is 107/55 -> my whole system is…

That's what the metabolic test from the nutritionist revealed. I weigh all my food, more than 1,400 with my current activity = I gain. Believe it or not, some people have very slow metabolisms. I just got back from 2 weeks on a business trip. I didn't weigh food, but didn't pig out, and I was more active than usual. I…

I started taking a multivitamin every morning in college with my thyroid medication and inexplicably lost 9lbs that month. I don't know if it made my medication more effective, or if it subconsciously made me feel (and act) healthier. It encouraged me to start exercising a little the next month (just jazzercise style) and…

I have lived abroad and traveled extensively for months at a time (South America, Central America, Europe, Caribbean, SE Asia) and I have to say, I disagree....I've seen larger portions in many places all over the world than standard portions here in the US. Especially in Japan, meals are like a binge eaters dream, and in…

Sounds right. I'm 5'7", 219lb and I maintain at 1,400 calories. More than that and I gain.

Hey there! My goal is 100, I've lost 40 so far with calorie counting alone :) but hit a standstill and haven't lost since January! :( trying to get into working out. sending you a Friend req!

I just messaged my sister to say I was about to come home from work, and was told I have Domino's pizza waiting for me....

I get you, I moved in with my family after living away from them for the last 8 years- I've gotten so used to controlling what is in the fridge and what I will have for dinner, that it's frustrating that they bring me food. In the last 5 days, I have been presented/gifted by family and friends: half a gourmet sandwich, a…

I am the same way normally, for years I was like "WHY am I always so hungry, nauseous, weak, in the morning, all I need is to eat something, I'm starving!" - eating a bedtime snack (or even a big meal) made it WORSE in the morning. I also had severe night sweats and tachycardia in deep sleep (ie, my hr went up the deeper…

My sister uses honey. I prefer it unsweetened, myself. Maybe adding some organic apple juice to a pot of tea would work (I don't know if that is more or fewer calories than straight sugar).

I try to cut all my meals in half, so that I eat half and then can think about if I really want to go get the other half. I usually don't. My fridge is full of lots of leftovers containers now!

When I bloat, I can gain 7-12lbs of water weight overnight, clothes are tight, jewelry doesn't fit, the bottoms of my feet feel like I'm walking on ketchup packets- it's awful! Drinking a LOT of water and stretching in the morning seems to help. It usually lasts about 4 days at a time, but if I need it gone asap I will…

Not any type (core would be fine! :) ) but for arms, it does when I still need x-rays and potentially rotator cuff surgery. I could not even pick up a pencil for days after it happened, I had to move my entire right arm by picking it up with my left one :(

It sounds like you know what your body needs best at this point, and can probably eyeball your servings. But fruits and veggies do have calories that should be included in your daily intake. Yes, you may burn more calories digesting them than you would, say, candy, but they still count- even with "zero calorie" fruits, it…

I completely get you! I've had my job for 7 years and am in my office for 11-12 hours a day, sometimes I don't even eat all day or go to the bathroom until I get home at 7pm. And on my least active days I have come home and looked at my pedometer to find it as low as 550 steps (it was usually at least around 1,200). I have…

AHAHAHA IKR? I'm kinda scared of it. But wondering if anyone knows any non-food uses for this food(?) item.

I feel ya, I was getting up at 3:30, leave for work at 4;15, get to work at 6, leave work at 5::00, get home at 7:30-8:00, in bed at 8:30...long work days paired with a hellish commute, always longer coming home. My doctors agreed I had no time to work out other than walks at lunch.

I tried a tiny bit and it didn't taste bad, but I'm still wary. Maybe make a hair mask from it?
