Max calories is only determined by how much you can fit in.

Im not sure that's what you need to know for weight loss though. If your goal is weight loss, have you entered your details in to MFP to see what they recommend for your chosen rate of loss?

How much are you trying to lose? And what is your current weight?
1500 is the minimum recommendation for men, so unless you are tiny, this has likely been recommended as your chosen rate of loss is too severe. Losing slowly will give you more calories, which is often easier to stick to long term.

Simply enter your details into MFP
Select sedentary as your activity level
    Select to lose 1 lb/week
MFP will give you a calorie goal
    Eat those calories

I try to cut all my meals in half, so that I eat half and then can think about if I really want to go get the other half. I usually don't. My fridge is full of lots of leftovers containers now!

Foods you should eat: what you like but keeping an eye on nutrition. Treats.

Foods you should cut out: Expired, mouldy, burnt, dropped in mud, anything you're sensitive/allergic to, foods you hate the taste/texture of.... anything that causes binges or overeating.

For me, it's not exactly what I eat, but portion control, and not eating a whole bag of cookies in one sitting. Then a big *kitten* bowl of cereal, then 2 snickers
