  • My head is the biggest and fattest around, it's so weird.
  • Unfortunately Nestle isn't as morally superior as those of us with lower muscle mass.
  • MOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!
  • 3-5 dried dates, <50g dried papaya, or a whole bag of baby carrots! o:)
  • Is it the 20/20 diet lobbied by Dr Phil? There's no benefit to going on a crazy restrictive diet based in pseudoscience. Usually it's best to eat regular food at lower calorie levels. Like 200-500 calories less than what you use up in a day.
  • Perhaps try making your meals creamier and fattier? That way the volume of food wouldn't be so high, I guess. I'm a freak who could eat 1400 calories for breakfast alone. :s
  • It can be beneficial for your body as well as the animals, but it doesn't guarantee weight loss or a lifetime of fitness. ;)
  • It can be really hard to turn away from abundantly eating all the foods and snacks you love, but it feels so much better when you are taking care of your health. And maybe your family members will see you take charge of your health and they'll become motivated to make change themselves.
  • As someone with a very unhealthy inner voice myself, I can tell you it's a toxic way of looking at your life. Whatever you think of yourself, you will also make it the reality for yourself. I believe the solution is to try hard to work on your own self worth, image and care for yourself. You have a very caring partner it…
  • I haven't craved cheese at all. It's weird because I used to be the biggest cheese lover around and loved putting cheese on everything. Now I sometimes eat stuff with plant based cheese on it (like a couple times a month), but I don't even crave that stuff even though I like the taste of it. Also, I don't miss eating any…
  • Make sure the carbs/legumes portion of your foods is enough for you (I mean, cook more of the carbs/legumes than before!) when you skip the meat that would be a part of your hubby's plate. There's also lots of veggie patties, and veggie protein sources like tofu, tempeh, seitan etc that you could experiment with!
  • I've had way too many beers with my bf on the weekends when he's off from work. If it was just me by myself, I definitely wouldn't drink alcohol on a weekly basis, but it's kinda fun to go out to places with someone special. I basically could just drink soda or water, but I kinda like beer... A lot...
  • I'm super excited about aaaaaaall the vegan foods. I especially enjoy the kind of recipes that are in the cookbook called Appetite for Reduction. I usually eat pretty low fat, but around 1-2 days of the week I eat higher fat. :p I like all plant whole foods, my go-to are sweet potatoes and red rice or basmati. Also my…
  • I've struggled with this, too. I think the only way out of this kind of thinking is to see yourself as more than your weight or physical appearance, and to find self worth and confidence. How you feel about yourself can be a very complicated issue, and weight loss itself is not gonna fix everything.
  • You just have to go slowly and consistently at weight loss. It does sound like your marriage could benefit from solving other problems between you guys, too.
  • I started right after first grade back in primary school... Now I wish I had known so much more about how easy it is to maintain your weight, how every aspect of your body is in your hands, but of course as a young child I couldn't have known all that. My family and relatives have always had weird beliefs regarding weight…
  • Personally, I have problems with self-loathing, so I had to work hard on my mindset when I first started losing weight. Sometimes the hate feelings get to me still (if I feel disappointed in my progress), but mostly I've tried to stay positive during this journey, and I'm happy that I'm not in a hurry to lose and don't…
  • I know I should eat fewer calories on the daily but... I don't know why I overeat. I even pretty much got over emotional eating, but I just overeat at my regular meals. I should cut it by 2/3 to keep losing probably.
  • It's funny how my friends and family have already told me that I don't need to lose any more weight since they now see my body as "average" build... In reality, I have about 50 lbs to go. I also feel like I'll probably always see some extra lbs on myself that I'd like to lose.
  • I eat pasta or noodles at least every other day and I'm loving it. Eat whatever amount is comfortable for you and that fits your calorie goals!

  • I find rice cakes to be a great snack. You can also eat a bunch of fresh or steamed vegetables for very little calories.
  • I even count my lettuce and celery by grams. :) But I don't like to limit how much I eat them.
  • Barring medical issues/allergies, you can eat as much fruit as you can fit in your goals! Don't worry about the sugar on MFP, in fact you can switch it out for another nutrient in your diary.
  • You can't go at 2lbs/week all the way until your goal weight. It's gonna get much slower. I'm losing at <0.5lbs/week.
  • I just had a salad burger the other night! I melted some cheddar on toasted burger buns, added some toppings, and instead of a burger (veggie) patty I used a load of lettuce. I recommend this technique.
  • Know that when you eat mindfully, food is much more enjoyable and satisfying. If I really have to just graze on something, I'll choose a whole head of lettuce (Romaine is my fav), broccoli, baby carrots, celery, radish, cucumber, rice cakes, gluten free crispbread, something like plain corn puffs or plain white rice. Fruit…
  • Focus on eating a variety of whole plant foods. Sounds like a great change for your family!
  • My bf eats gigantic portions for lunch at work, but after work he eats more like child portions. He just doesn't like to eat too much at one meal, except at work.
  • Eat anything you like! Remember to eat a variety of whole plant foods, that way you'll be reaching your nutrient goals. Look for vegan recipes online (endless results!), using ingredients you already like.
  • Logging veggies can be fun because you can log quite a substantial amount of them and the calories will stay pretty low.
