  • Amen to that. My local stores always have my go-tos cut and cleaned. As long as I can afford the expense, I get them.
  • Thanks for such quick responses! I wasn't really worried about items running together. I've done meal services and volunteered at plenty of events where we used vaccum sealed meals. Once placed appropriately, the stuff STAYS. I wasn't really considering putting sauces in them, so the liquids would mostly not be an issue.…
  • the goal of dropping 1/4 inch from my waist and hips. If I can manage that, every couple of months when I measure, then I know I'm going in the right direction. The scale is not an accurate indicator for me.
  • I call today's work out: Errands.
  • Sunday mornings. I don't have crazy Saturdays, so the weekends are a good time for me. Doing it daily drove me nuts ( in a negative mental health kind of way), I wasn't consistent with every other week, and monthly didn't give me the kind of history I liked for tracking.
  • I wouldn't really say going over on sugar is meaningless. To me, it isn't. I track many targets, sugar is just one of them (as is fiber). And, of course sugar in itself doesn't make you fat. I thought that was common knowledge? This question sparked good responses, and options for me to try. Who knows, maybe I'll like one…
  • Thanks for the group comments @spiriteagle99 , I'll check them out. Currently suck at running, and it's quite defeating. (I'm over all pretty positive about fitness-y stuff - just not running lol)

  • Thanks for the comments folks. Yes, I do want jelly, otherwise I wouldn't have asked. Result is that I have taken most of the advice and just dealt with the sugar if I went over. I do not have a medical condition. I've just kept a low sugar/sodium diet for so long that if either spikes, it's noticeable. To the person who…
  • I had a really super response to this, but then my phone spazzed out on me :( tldr: my experience is similar to yours. And really, yours is the average experience. Yes, there are outliers, but that is expected in anything a person tries. It is so very fun, and after a year, I've come to love and appreciate it and my…
  • @vingogly have you eaten Smuckers and Welch's? Do they taste alright? I've been searching for Polaner's sugar free grape for ages, and just can't seem to find it in store. If you see it, where? I know I can order online, but I rarely get in moods for jelly, so generally don't see online ordering worth it. @amy19355 I do…
  • Chicken and "dumplings" (44c/7f/33p), with added roasted veggies (broccoli/parsnip/carrots at 16c/3f/4p)
  • Skin flaying is in, I hear.
  • All of that will go into the recipe builder as-is. Guess how many servings, enter it, and then there you go. Just spend the few minutes to type it in and you're set.
  • Well, aside from first thing in the morning (ugh, pain) it has gotten better. I do the recommended stretches often, and just get up from my desk each hour - boss be damned. All in all, pain levels have decreased. Even the morning pain lasts for less time. I've still not seen a doctor since I'm seeing results. But, when my…
  • Thank you everyone!! I really appreciate the info.
  • Well, I PRd 3 lifts today, so there's that. If anyone sees this and wants to add, that would be cool :)
  • I feel this, hard. Soda was one of my biggest vices. I just loved Coke and Dr. Pepper! So, I made a concerted effort to drink crystal lite and kool-aid (think the stuff that you drop into water, with no sugar) for like a month. And tons of tea, bc those headaches - ugh. After a while, I decided to try the different diet…
  • currently sitting with super glue on a rip. This thread is amazing. Guess I have some research to do! I also thought that it would just take time for my hands to be able to handle the load, but, it's been several months now, and I've not done any of the things you guys mentioned. I'm ridiculous about research, and it…

  • Do what everyone else said, but don't be scared. This is COMPLETELY manageable by eating well and exercising. Your doc said pre-diabetic, so you can absolutely do this! I went through the same thing so I know the emotion wheel you're feeling. (yes, diabetes is scary, give the disease its due, but you aren't there yet…
  • roast and stir fry - all day every day. every sauce and spice in the world works wonders. Very rarely do I boil. No wonder you get bored.
  • snatches. so very bad.
  • Taken about the same time each year. The left was about 6 months before I started to really focus on myself, and start researching ways to be healthier (Jan 2016). I don't recall what I weighed during that photo, but I can say that I was 250 that following January. In the right photo, I was 217. On top of the number and…
  • OMGGGGGG. Last Thursday: I ran a mile in class, and though I didn't log to the second, I finished sometime within the 13 minute mark. Previous fastest time, like, end of last year, was in the 15:30ish range. I'm so so so so excited about that. Also, I climbed the Coba pyramid in Mexico last Monday. I paused a couple times…
  • Fast forward a month (glad I kept this post) and I'm feeling MUCH better overall. More energy, sleeping better, and my body has adapted very well to the increase in food (I'm loosing weight while eating more, and it still makes me laugh). I'm almost at what should be a normal daily intake of food, and I can eat after…
  • I have found that logging CrossFit in MFP is difficult, so I keep track of that through a different site (Fitocracy). I can find some exercises, but the majority are not available for choosing. For example, this photo is last thursday. I can find the situps and the two-arm DB row, but I can't find the hand release pushups…

  • I use burpees as one of my metrics for assessing my improvement. When I started CF, he had me doing full step burpees. Slow and steady, a small hop when vertical. I could do a few in a row before breathing super hard and having to break things up. I still have to do less if we are doing a timed workout where the goal is to…
  • On the last dregs of my crockpot shredded chicken. Also needed to eat up an inordinate number of carbs. The stuff mixed into the avocado is Don Emilio hot salsa mache de chile morita. Since finding this, my life has been changed.
  • multiple carbs bc ... one kind is boring? I need to do dishes.
