You can't blame this country's health problems purely on soda. For one, there were sodas around 60 years ago when a much much smaller percentage of the population was considered overweight. So logic would dictate that people cutting out sugary drinks isn't the one big change needed to fix the epidemic. Taxing soda would…

Instant pot! I live at a high elevation and it's impossible to cook dried beans without it taking several hours. Now i have beans and rice done in an hour and it cuts back prep time so much.

People are concerned about this all the time and the general consensus is you might get loose skin and you might not. There is no way to know. Are you genetically predisposed to it? Find out of your mom had skin elasticity problems after she had you. Generally, staying hydrated and losing weight at a slow and steady pace…

I had to do all the stride calibrations in order to get an accurate measurement on mine.

Quality. I went to cooking school though so I suppose some would call me picky. I'm not outrageously picky though, if food is given to me free I won't turn it down. But if I had the choice between eating a giant bowl of low cal food or eating third a portion of my favorite restaurant meal, I'd pick the nice restaurant meal…

I have some in my freezer now. Some of the flavors are good and some are kind of gross tasting. They don't completely freeze solid either they just get slushy. But they are pretty refreshing when its hot out.

No one is perfect my friend! Even trainers and models gotta eat some tacos or pizza! Instead of focusing on cutting calorie dense indulgences out, switch to a focus on adding whole nutritionally dense foods more. I had to let go of the idea that food is "bad food" or "good food". It's all feeding your body and your mind in…

I had a panel done and needed vitamin D. I'm taking prescription D supplements now but hopefully I can fix that with a little more vitamin sun

Unless you've had tests in which your doctor recommended you take supplements due to a deficiency, spending your money on them is unnecessary. There have been SO many studies that concluded supplements don't do much of anything cept turn your pee colors. I believe they found some benefit in supplemental B vitamins that…

All those "snake oil" claims about EOs are rubbish. They smell nice. Some may have certain properties like being antifungal or astringents. But good lord I'd never eat them! Generally, if a certain product claims to be able to fix all your life's ailments, it is too good to be true.

Have you/are you seeing a counselor about this? I have had food issues for quite some time. The main thing that helped me was talking to someone about it and figuring out why I binge in the first place. Secondly, I need to set my calorie goal higher. If I set MFP to lose 1.5-2 lbs per week, I just end up getting frustrated…

Exercising! Far too many times I have found myself in the midst of a Netflix binge instead of at the gym

Don't do Old Navy! Their "compression" leggings always fall down off my "foopa".

I count tea, lacroix, and mix in powders as water. I don't drink them as my sole source of hydration. But if I'm getting tired of plain ol water I'll spice it up a little with some flavor. I never get dehydrated that way.

I had to switch to Lexapro from Prozac. I have the opposite. I problem, I didn't want to do anything health related on prozac and gained a bunch. I'm on 10mg Lexapro now and can control my portions again. But all drugs effect people different ways. Talk to your doc and see if there is a better option for you.

When I'm prepping meals for my husband and I every week, we eat the same meals. I just give him almost twice as much as I do. He is in charge of his own snacks and I'm in charge of mine. So he has a tendency to pack more peanut butter, full fat yogurt, trail mix type things because they are higher in cals. I give myself…

I exercise because it makes me look hotter! And because I like having the strength and stamina to do whatever I want. I hate getting winded walking up two flights of stairs!

I mentioned in my second post that I Have BED. I also encouraged the use of medications with accompanying talk therapy. OP is having an issue with insurance coverage for medications. Just because it hasn't been tested exclusively for assistance with BED doesn't mean it is completely off the table. My doc wanted to put me…

OP, my doctor wanted to put me on Vyvanse for BED as well. But it was too expensive for me. Currently I've been on a low dose of methylphenidate that seems helpful with my eating as well as other issues related to my mental illness. It is super cheap. I've heard people have had some success with Strattera as well. The…

Often times some prescription help for a short period of time can help in curing severe cases of BED. They can give you some peace of mind and a little push to get the ball rolling, much like antidepressants make doing therapy work feasable in cases of severe depression. Is it a permanent fix? No. But if OP needs a little…

I always prep a lot of ingredients that I can use quickly and easily. I don't always prep the full week ahead. But I will make a large batch of rice, for example, that I can make tacos/stir fry/bowls with. Then half the work is done. Or I'll precut my veggies ahead of time. Also, the slow cooker is my friend!

I liked my fitbits the best. I have an off brand one now and it is frustrating to use.
-
Don't waste your money on "cleanses". And you can skip the "jumpstarts and fixes". They are unnecessary. If their plan works for you, go for it. But in my opinion, the 21 day fix was a clever way to sell people more tupperware and shakes. Just start eating in a healthy and sustainable way.

Unless those tortilla chips are in nacho cheese sauce, there is no way 28 tortilla chips have 560 cals.

I love mine. I got one of the first models used for cheap and it is still running. I really want to upgrade to a heart rate model (but am currently lacking the necessary fundage). I got a cheap chinese copycat cause it was all I could afford and it hardly works. Just going to have to save up for a name brand fitbit!

So don't make it. Lots of people manage to fit indulgences into their calorie plan and lose weight. It doesn't have to be ALL kale smoothies and salad and poached chicken with broccoli.

I'm in the exact same spot as you are in now. I have been very sedentary for the past 8 mos (lots of sitting for classes and studying) and am trying to exercise again. I. Hurt. Everywhere. Turns out I was trying to jump back in at the level I was at a couple years ago. I've learned my lesson and realized that I have to be…

I love my Under Armour leggings. I've tried Old Navy and they always fall down once I start actually exercising. I've tried Nike but half the time they don't fit my short frame and if they do they are see through when I bend over.

If I buy something special for me, I let my husband know and he doesn't touch it. If my husband wants some, we buy enough for both of us next time we go shopping and mark the boxes so we don't accidentally deplete each others supply. It sounds petty, but we are on a very tight budget and don't have the funds to go on…
