I'm in. Today marks 3 weeks alcohol free. I cannot moderate. :/ Incidentally, I lost 9 lbs in these 3 weeks.

Moxie: There is a recovery group online. www.soberrecovery.com There is a very active forum where you can post. I cannot moderate either. I am 3 weeks without alcohol.

Awesome jobs everyone!!! 2 weeks alcohol free for me. I’m still not sleeping very well. Hope that improves! Good night All.

Yes, I have. I understand it's a common symptom. :/

Day 13 for me. As I said earlier, I cannot moderate. Everyone is doing so well. Let's keep on keeping on. :)

On 11th day. Though I don’t have a huge desire to drink, still feel pretty crappy. I’ve been drinking huge amounts of water, sparkling water, some diet caffeine free coke, calming teas- basically everything except alcohol. Needless to say, I’m quite bloated. :(

Finishing my 10th day alcohol free. Still experiencing the anxiety. Hope it gets better. I’ve learned that I can’t moderate.

This is my 8th day alcohol free. Yesterday was tough for me and I had the gloomies plus anxiety. Initially I blamed the gloomies and anxiety on not drinking, but I had to remind myself that I would have had those feelings anyway, but drank the feelings away instead. Oh - I've lost 6.6 lbs this week, which I'm sure most was…

I just saw this thread. Today is my 7th day alcohol free. I've tried to moderate for years, but only ended up right back to (or more) than the last amount of alcohol I stopped at. I learned that abstinence is the only road for me.

I quit drinking on January 11th. Today is my 7th day without alcohol. I was consuming on an average over 700 extra calories per day. Added to that was the extra food I was eating while 'under the influence'. Anyway, I've lost about 5 pounds this week only by eliminating the alcohol calories.

I ate too much for about a month leading up to Christmas, so on Christmas Day was up 6 lbs. Today (12/28), down 4.2. I'm sure at least some of the remaining 1.8 lbs is a true fat gain.

I'm 68. Lost 23 lbs since July. I try to get 10,000 + steps a day, mostly by walking around the house, marching/jogging in place. I have a nice bicycle, but have lately been unmotivated to use it. My weight has stalled these last couple of weeks, I think because of diet fatigue and not being as careful with logging or…

5'5", started at 156. Set goal to 122. Currently 131.4.
-
Most of the time I eat back all of them. MFP has be set for 1200 calories, so I feel I need to eat those extra calories.
-
Even though I had 500 exercise calories (jogging/walking around the house), I still went 600 calories over. Everything was eyeballed and estimated.
-
I'm having the same problem. I've lost 25 lbs and inches all over, except for my belly.
-
How’s everyone going to weigh and measure, particularly with guests at the table? Eyeball and hope for the best?

I understand, OP. I'm 68 and 1200 calories is really a challenge. I've been on MFP for 97 days and have lost 22 lbs. I have about 12-14 lbs to goal. I've been trying to get at least 10,000 steps, which are mostly obtained by marching around the house, driveway, etc. That gives me 200-300 extra calories to eat. The last…

"One minute later would result in the same reading on my scale, maybe some sort of memory in my digital scale." This is my scale too.

I have used Flylady to organize and clean my clutter. It's a great site. In addition to cleaning the sink, one recommendation was to grab a garbage bag and throw away 10 things a day. After a while, I found myself having to search for 10 things - I was looking in drawers, etc.

Breyers makes a low carb ice cream. It's excellent.

I had this last week on our road trip from New York to Florida. I had intestinal cramps and diarrhea. Couldn't keep anything in without passing it. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay well hydrated either, because I didn't want Hubby to have to keep making bathroom stops for me. I was very miserable. Lost 5 lbs in 3 days. I am…

I get this. I was up almost 2 lbs from eating a high sodium meal (tacos). I didn't go over my calorie budget though and am just trusting the process that I am eating at a deficit. One tip - if you have a digital scale, make sure it's level. Press on one side to see if it wobbles. If so, adjust to where it no longer wobbles.

I have a Fitbit Alta (not the Heart rate model). I love it. It keeps me motivated for my steps, which right now is my main source of activity. I like the fact that the calorie burn from those steps transfers to MFP, enabling me to eat more. One other thing my Fitbit has is the one hour reminder to get up and complete 250…

Our indulgence today was tacos (homemade). Hubby and I are staying within our calorie goals, but as of this morning, each of us was up a couple of pounds with water weight. Our initial thoughts were to have something like lean meat and vegetables to try to eliminate the water weight, but tacos were on our menu. Since this…

Our friends invited us to Cici’s Pizza tomorrow for Senior Day, an all you can eat buffet of pizza and salad. Hubby and I love pizza and have been craving it, but going to an all you can eat situation, was just not something we wanted to test. We declined. That had the potential to undo several days of hard work. Before we…

Your fitbit recorded your running steps. It will sync to MFP.

I've lost 17 pounds in 91 days, so yes it's possible. I started MFP at 154.6.
