  • I second Old Navy- I've bought 2 from there and love them! Long sleeves and long length!
  • If there's a lot of running or rowing involved, I wear capris & I love Old Navy's compression capris. Otherwise, I have several pairs of Lululemon shorts (groovy run, shake and break, & run times). For tops, I typically wear cotton t-shirts that I've accumulated from 5Ks and half marathons or if I'll be jumping a lot (or…
  • Bad: I trained very hard to run my 6th half marathon as my fastest. I was dead-set on running it because the after party at the finish line sounded epic (especially all the food vendors haha). The night before I got sick in the hotel room and realized that not only did I have a stomach virus but I had a kidney stone. After…
  • I know every body is different but for me, epsom salt baths are good for general, overall body soreness but ice baths really help my knee pain. When I was training for a full marathon, I'd run 18+ miles before 8AM, take an ice bath, then run errands all day and never be in pain. Once, I didn't have time for a bath so I…

  • Right there with you! I've determined I will never be able to wear capris again. I've been wearing a lot of dresses lately since I'm too lazy to shop for pants. My issue with finding pants & jeans is more so length (I'm 6-foot tall) but the thighs are becoming an issue, too!
  • 4-5 days a week. I've seen better much better results lately than when I was going 2x a week!
  • I go at 5AM and typically do not eat before, just eat a large dinner the night before. If I am hungry, I'll have half of a banana before & that doesn't bother my stomach during the workout
  • Broke it up into 5-10-15 for most of the moves but man that was still tough! 61:33 was my time. Had a blast with all the people that did it at our box. Happy Memorial Day, y'all!
  • I remember being told by my boss a couple years ago that he noticed how tall I walked, owned my height, and never slouched. After that, I really thought about it & realized that I had a lot of male role models (dad, several cousins, & uncles) growing up. I wanted to be like them so I always held myself tall & proud. Plus…
  • No, but I'm planning on doing it this year, too. Hope you kick *kitten*!!
  • Today's workout was a repeat of 3/31/14 3RFT: -40 cal row -15 pullups -30 pushups -45 squats 3/31/14 time: 27:44 5/21/14 time: 24:18 I knocked almost 3 & 1/2 minutes off my time & used a smaller band for pullups! I can't believe how much stronger I've become in such a short amount of time.
  • 10min EMOM w/ 60-65% of your 1RM -deadlift -hang squat clean -push press -split jerk then came... "MAD FRAN" -1500m row -9 thrusters (135/95#) -9 burpee-pullups -1000m row -12 thrusters -12 burpee-pullups -500m row -15 thrusters -15 burpee-pullups That was awful!!

  • I'm using About Time whey protein powder. It's sweetened with Stevia so some of the flavors can taste a little fake or too sweet but it's gluten free and lactose free, which is a huge plus for me. A scoop is 100 calories and 25g protein.
  • SeaCity CrossFit Corpus Christi,TX We LOVE drop ins!! I'm doing my first drop in ever this coming Tuesday at CrossFit Annandale while I'm in Virginia. I'm excited!
  • Hi, Eileen! I'm Tricia. I started CF about 2 months ago and I am absolutely loving it. Same as you, I'm excited to get off the couch and see what my body is capable of! Best of luck to you in all your lifts =)
  • My coaches have not once told me what/how I should eat. I know they've done Paleo challenges at the box before but never force anything. I cut out gluten & dairy for the most part because I have PCOS and it helps with those symptoms & I notice less bloating & clearer skin. Everyone reacts to calorie amounts differently so…
  • Strength- find your 1RM back squat WOD- Fran Ow.
  • This is great, thanks for sharing. I really like the part about Diminishing Returns, it makes sense and it's definitely something to be aware of.
  • I'm 6'0" & my TDEE - 20% is 2014 cals per day. I wear a HRM when I workout so I burn up to ~500 cals some days and eat back maybe 300 of em. I'm not really trying to lose weight, just add muscle. Been CFing for a month & while the scale hasn't moved, my measurements are smaller, which is what I'm looking for. I eat fairly…
  • I'm a size 10, sometimes 12 and I'm 6'0". You will look FABULOUS at 200lbs. I'm at ~180 right now, adding muscle.
  • Thank you for sharing this! I started CrossFit about 3 weeks ago so pretty much everything is scaled for me, but I don't let it get me down. My numbers are solely for ME to improve!
  • I went through the Foundations class last week and today I completed my FIRST WOD! Looking forward to continuing with CrossFit to see how my body & mindset change
  • Welcome to MFP & the Tall Women group! Best of luck to you on your weight loss journey. We are all here to support you
  • I'm basically maintaining my weight these days (although I am trying to lose the couple of holiday lbs I gained!) but I lost 120 lbs over 5 years. I believe losing it slow and steady is what helped me maintain it for over 2 years now. I NEVER felt deprived or like I was on some crazy diet but getting myself healthy slowly…
  • I overheard a group of guys at lunch one time debating on how tall I was. I turned around & said "Let me help y'all: I'm 6 foot, guys" Their mouths dropped then we all started laughing. They didn't know I could hear them even though they obviously were NOT whispering...
  • #8.... lol I hate dancing!!
  • LOVE it! Never have hated it but was definitely uncomfortable with myself during the middle school years when I really grew. From high school up until the present I've flaunted it! No point in trying to hide, doesn't work @ 6' haha
  • 6 foot even! Tell the guys I'm 5'12" to see if they can figure it out.... 36' inseam with a short torso ha oh well, all legs!
  • I bout a new running skirt this weekend while out of town & it's a size smaller than the last one (same style)! Gonna flaunt it on my run tomorrow morning :) Feeling extra pretty today too, don't know why & don't care why! ;)
  • Welcome to the group! I'm 24 & have managed to lose 120 lbs w/ PCOS so it can definitely be done! Feel free to add me, I'd love to support you!
