  • Fantastic progress! You are on a roll, keep going. This is very inspirational for me, as I lost 23 lbs early in 2013 and have gained it all back this winter so I am starting from scratch again!
  • Amazing! Great work. The best part is your commitment. One year of good choices is a very long time. How'd you stick with it?
  • Wow. Love your honesty. Ive been away since mid May and regained 13. Jeesh. I think it's logging forever for some of us! Good for you, getting back on board. Me too.
  • Thanks for posting! I am much older than you - 50! But my height and starting weight are similar. So I am totally motivated my seeing your success. Congratulations! You look fantastic. I'm halfway there so feeling like I'll do it too. I LOVE MFP success stories! Well done.
  • Fantastic success! You must be so proud of yourself.
  • You look great! You should be really proud of sticking with it!
  • Thanks for all the above information about fruit. I love it all and so far it has not interfered with my weight loss. But I have noticed that I am over the allotted grams for sugar every day! Mostly due to my fruit intake. I love all fruit but didn't know that pineapple was especially bad. Fortunately I also love berries…

  • I know what you mean! I was very impatient at the beginning of my journey 3 months ago, even though I was losing week every week and have now lost 20 lbs. I will say that it's getting easier as time continues to pass...whether we lose weight or not. I am trying to focus on other things - smaller weight loss mini-goals and…
  • I am in a similar situation. Started at 185 in Feb., now down to 167 but still have a long way to go. Goal weight is 145 (I am 5'8"). My thighs are also the worst area....aagghhh....I am shrinking up top and around my waist but my legs seem to be as big as ever. I'll add you and the other posters on this thread. Maybe we…
  • Thanks for your post. I completely agree with your HRM point, I too find the MFP calorie counter for exercise way too high. And a HRM is just a great tool anyway. I like the fact that your wife and you did it together. I've gotten my husband on board too. He doesn't log but he is eating much better now and has lost more…
  • You've changed a lot and look great. Your profile picture is of a slim girl! Your starting and goal weights are very similar to mine but you're a lot further along. I'm going to use you as inspiration! Thanks.
  • Good for you! You've started and that is the hardest part. Keep trying to live healthier. It will pay off in the long run!
  • I have had it for more than a year but it is slowly getting better. I have found that using insoles, or orthotics, in my shoes helps a bit. Also make sure that you have good running shoes and that you change your footwear often. That seems to help. It is an aggravating problem. Hope this helps!
  • Good for you! It is great to shop with a positive attitude and actually enjoy the process. Keep it going....
  • Great post and great suggestion! I have lost 17 lbs since Feb. and am still wearing my size 14 jeans too. But in reality, they are much, much looser and actually look pretty sloppy now. I definitely think I was busting out of them before.:) So just for the hell of it, I bought myself a pair of size 12's a few days ago and…
  • I completely agree! It isn't easy, but its so worth it. Congratulations on your success so far. Seems that you will just keep on getting healthier with the habits you've established.
  • Amazing! You look fantastic. What a year of good work will do!
  • Hi there. I'm 50 and experiencing many of the issues mentioned in this thread. I have been menopausal for about a year and a half and between the night sweats and hot flashes, it can be very discouraging. Who knew it was gonna be like this? However, I am not sure I can blame my weight on menopause as I have struggled with…
  • Bumping for inspiration????
  • You look fantastic! What an amazing transformation. I know exactly what you mean about the 'unflattering' before pics but you are an incredible source of inspiration for many people. Well done!
  • Great job - you look fantastic!
  • I am totally blown away! You look great but also, you look happy and proud of what you've accomplished. And so you should be. Congratulations!
  • How inspirational! I loved reading your progress report, especially with such amazing pictures. Also, I am very motivated by the fact that you have been doing this for a year - I just started tracking a few weeks ago and really need to know that it is sustainable over time. Great work - you must feel fantastic!!
  • Its my 3rd week and I too, feel incredibly motivated. This is actually easier than i thought! The support on MFP is fantastic and I actually look forward to logging my food every day....what a weirdo I know. But I've lost 6 lbs so far (my ticker only says 4) and I am on my way. :)
  • Wow, you look amazing. Your pictures are so inspiring! And I think you look progressively younger in each picture. How great! Keep it up. It really helps me to see other people who are successful and are reaching their goals. It gives me confidence that I can reach my own. Thanks
  • Thank you all for your feedback! It is possible that I am eating a bit too much fruit but again, I am within my recommended calories per day (though I come pretty close to the max. most days:) I just found it interesting that there so many evil sugar grams in otherwise healthy and nutritious food. I will try to look for…
  • Hi There, I just read your Motivation post and joined the Spring Slimdown Challenge group earlier - as I am just getting back to dealing with my own weight loss/fitness issues after months (years?) of self-neglect . Thanks for coming up with the Challenge idea! I think the group motivation is much better than any of us…
