Hi. I am a formerly fit person who moved 5 years ago and have since put on an additional 15 pounds. Trying to get fit again and see if I can take some of the weight off as well. I lost my daily bicycle commute and stopped running as much. Well ...I am slowly trying to run three days a week and go to the gym twice a week…

Mini goal: post my foods and exercise consistently for 3 days. ( I am starting a little goal). Big goal to look like my picture again.

You are looking great!

If this is at gym, ask them to post a sign about fragrances, etc.

Hi I would to join in on this thread. Sounds like positive people here! Rejoined MFP this week, trying to get back on track and develop some healthy habits. My biggest issues are stress and tired eating. I loved some of your ideas way to take care of yourself. My clothes have become ill -fitting and I don't want to go up…

No eating restrictions for me. Portion control and mindless stress eating are my difficulties.

My name is Ellen. I live in North Carolina. I am a recent transplant and moved here a year ago. My eating patterns have changed (not for the better) . I recently joined a boot camp fitness class that I hope will get me motivated to regain my fitness.

replying to satellite of love. Glad you are doing better and you have a point. For many people, weight, diets, what to eat, good food/bad food, did I exercise enough can become ways to distract from feelings and emotions. Keep doing your work. To the lady who posted and wanted to know how "fat" you were....you look…

Good idea to get a physical before starting any new big change in exercise. Also agree you may be going over your max recommended heart rate and going aerobic. May simply be a fuel issue but I think it is prudent to check in with your health care provider.

strong work great goals. I would like to hop on the bandwagon. 1. exercise - something 6 of 7 days, even if it's only walking. 2. food diary every day, even if I go over. 3. breath deeply when stressed or anxious. 4. weigh myself once a week. 5. form these new habits...

hey all. Looking to get restarted. I have lost a great of fitness..don't know about weight, haven't dared weigh myself. I used to live in the PNW and moved to NC. I am in the throes of adjusting and am a very goal oriented person. I would like to lose about 14 pounds and get my fitness routine back. So I did go for a run…

acckkkk....I have so fallen off the wagon. Moved across the country, different climate, different time zone, new job, seliing and buying houses. I am hoping to get an hour in 3 times a week and a 2 hour work out on the weekend. I also need to find new group and/or gym though that may be awhile due to expenses.

Great question!! I think the key is to not "take it to the hilt" Mindfullness. Ha easier said than done. I was doing myfitnesspal for awhile just after the new year. Found myself feeling very crazy, so I quit. I gained more weight. I am going to try to approach it a little differently. Part of my issues are emotional…

An hour a day is great!! Especially if you mix it up! Like one day cardio, one day strength or yoga. etc.

So agree with Dorreen. Looking at the whole picture is a great way to not get sucked into some of tapes we play in our heads, while mine at least. It keeps the focus on the positive. Love it!! Thanks Doreen!!! And keep on working on your lifestyle. It's all very good and makes such a difference in how we feel...stronger,…

Great idea!! Give yourself a little leeway on the weeks that are insane so you don't beat yourself up.

Hey there North Dakota! How are you doing...I imagine by now it's getting cold there. I am from North Dakota orginally...

Me too! so many of us struggle with food and/or weight with our crazy hours and never-ending emotional giving....

That's cute.. Best trailer I saw was a commuter who had his dog in a trailer. Sirens made the dog howl though...which of course had me chuckling....

I am needing to get back into a routine. I did some big fitness training this summer. Did not lose weight but got very strong. Strong enough to climb 2 mountains. But that was two months ago....I have done very little and am in a rut. I think I will try to get back to my morning routines. Since then I have gained any…

Have any of you read a book called Run Like a Mother? It is a terrific read for Mom's trying to get a new running passion along with the craziness of life/work, etc.

Cooking for the family along with all work responsibilites makes me cuckoo. Seriously...I have 2 vegetarians. One who is super picky and a son and a husband who really mainly likes standard American diet type food. I am often frustrated and don't have time to cook. I also use all recipies.com. I have found some great…
