  • More than how low or high your intake is, the most important thing to keep in mind is not to let your body get used to what it's being fed. If you go 3 weeks on a restrictive diet and notice you've stopped losing, up it for a couple of days and then go back to it. Your metabolism will meet whatever you do to your body…
  • Ok. I started this challenge with y'all back in what was it? July? Well, life has been insane since then and a week or 2 vacation led to me missing months not only on MFP but also at the gym. I am happy to say that I did maintain and even lose a little weight during that time. My weigh-in this morning revealed 175 lbs…
  • Sorry I haven't posted. I'm in PA visiting family and internet connections are scarce. I will be back home on the 15th and will be buckling down and getting serious because this goal is approaching quicker than it seems ;)
  • Welcome, and good luck in your fitness goals. I have already lost about what you are trying to lose, so I can say with certainty that it can be done! Be patient with yourself, put in the effort, and you will see the results! You have made a great first step in coming to MFP. The support and friendships you have here are…
  • Thanks all. I knew chinese was high in sodium which is why for the rest of the day I ate very low sodium. I Just assumed that if I stayed under the 2500, it would still be ok. Come to think of it though, I didn't drink but 3 glasses of water yesterday (BAD BAD! lol), so that could be it. I weigh every day but only record…
  • I will be one of those "never- the-same" people... I have bad stomach gene and you should see the stretch marks... the worst is that most of it happened with the first of my 4 children. On top of that, I do have the c-section flap of skin on the bottom, but if you lose slow like you are supposed to and tone as you go, it…

  • No, I'm saying I do lose when I do that... when I eat 1200+ exercise cals I don't lose... even if I leave 100-150 cals for a buffer.
  • But that's the thing... I don't feel like I eat like a bird at all. I eat when I'm hungry and until I'm full... I just traded what I eat from Mcd's and fried garbage to leaner cuts of meat like chicken breast and lean beef on occasion. Before my journey I'd eat a mcd's value meal and that was it all day. I don't think I…
  • No, I'm 5'7"
  • I noticed you are getting more than 100 g of protein per day... You said you are exercising, so I was curious, do you measure? It is possible that you are building muscle. It was recommended to me that even though I'm exercising, I need to keep my protein under 100g in order to slim instead of bulk. Also, keep your sodium,…
  • I have lost 88 lbs (82 on MFP) and some days I still have trouble seeing it. I should have kept some of my fat clothes for a pick-me-up... but I have some of my 3rd string fat clothes that are getting too big, so I guess that in itself should be enough. When I hit 80 lb loss I really noticed a skinnier me.... It was one…

  • Hang in there. I'm raising my 4 little ones on my own as well. They are between the ages of 3 and 8. My ex (luckily) pays support, but is 2500 miles away in Texas. This summer the kids were with my in-laws in Pennsylvania while he was there, and when his mom had to go back to work, I ended up having to call family members…
  • I'd like to know this as well... I usually do the elliptical at about 8 or 9 incline (the ones at my gym are precour and give little light indicators of what areas you are targeting and that's the spot where it gets fronts, backs, and rear). I also found that I feel it in the innner thighs if I turn my toes out and heels…
  • Dayum! nice
  • Heat up a bit of olive oil in the bottom of a fry pan, season your fish with the lemon pepper on both sides unless yours still has the skin on one side, then cook it just above medium for about 5-7 min on each side depending on thickness and voila!

  • This always happens to me when I start weight training. Do yourself a favor and measure yourself as well as weighing it will help you to stay focused on what really matters... getting smaller. I typically gain 2-4 lbs while the inches are coming off then start to see the scale drop, so don't get discouraged just yet. Hope…
  • I usually do chicken with broccoli with the steamed jasmine rice... just make sure you keep the rest of your day low-sodium because the worst part of chinese take-out is the sodium.
  • That is my ultimate goal as well! I just want to hit a size 8 in my adult life. I have a large bone structure, so I'll never be 100 lbs or anything, and I might ultimately look best in a size 10, but I want to wear a size 8 for just a little while!
  • I would love to join you! I have about 40 lbs I'd like to lose still, so that would put me at my goal by Christmas! Can you say lil black dress for New Year? Staying within my cals and exercising isn't a problem, but what routines are you thinking?
  • YES!!!! I take body pump at Gold's and love it!!!! I saw a difference after a week or 2 and that's about how long it took to not be sore all the time! I'm actually on my way there now, have a great day!
  • I'm not sure about bulking/cutting either, but as for divorce, I'm going through it now as well, so if you need someone to talk to, feel free to friend me.
  • My favorite snack is a special K chocolatey pretzel. My favorite meal is 4 oz of chicken breast made with a lil olive oil and McCormick Salt free Original All-Purpose seasoning. Pair it with Yukon Gold or Red baked potato with 1pat of unsalted butter, and 1-2 cups hearts of romaine salad with wishbone salad spritzer in…
  • Hi there! I'm a college student too (Master's)! I'm also a mom of 4. It's nice to meet you!
  • Good for you! If I can do it, anyone can. I started my own journey at 270 lbs in a size 22W/24W in June 2009 after looking at myself in my college graduation pics. I am now 186.5 lbs (just this morning), and am still working on the last 40-50lbs. I am currently a size 14/16 in (Yes) misses! I will say, even doing the right…
  • I go to the gym alone... I prefer going to the gym alone to working out at home alone. At least there you see other people with like-minded goals. I take a class, and you get to know people after a bit and then you really don't feel alone. I also love my mp3 player, as it keeps me company while I do the elliptical.
  • Didn't find my twin yet! height: 5'7" Age: 30 Sex: Lady-bits (I like that) hehe SW: 270 lbs CW: 188 lbs GW: 140-150 lbs
  • You are stronger than I... I can't (won't) say no to pepsi! I would rather cut somewhere else!
  • Which means it's a whole bunch of chemicals and processes along with a lil bit of milk... but the kids love the stuff, so sometimes you just have to take one for the team! lol
