Only told family and a few close friends before surgery which is why my co-workers sent me a gift card to Texas Roadhouse as a get well gift LOL! I had been losing prior to surgery and was down almost 40 pounds at surgery time but after surgery I had no problem telling anyone I had surgery. I didn't primarly get the tool…

There are several WLS groups. You may want to consider joining one (or more!) of them.

Had mine done the day before mamaholt. We've been buds all along this journey. Down 45 since surgery and 39 before surgery. Weight loss is slowing down but I'm still mostly following all the rules. Add me as a friend if you'd like.

I'm 6' and my immediate goal is to lose 15 more pounds to get under 200. Ultimately I'd like to get back down to 165 (a weight I haven't seen since college) but I could probably be very happy maintaining at 185. I have a small/medium frame but have never been below 157 in my entire adult life.

At this point in your journey, your body is doing some extraordinary things; still healing from major surgery and dropping tons of weight. Of course you're tired. Are you getting in all the protein you're suppose to? I know it's still hard this early out, but do whatever you can to keep the protein up. Take nap if you need…

On this journey you don't have to be perfect. You just have to be better than you were. Ease up on yourself, make the good choices that you know you should make and you will succeed!!

I used the time pre-surgery to start eating as closely as I could to the way I would be eating after surgery. It seemed to make more sense to go from 1500 cals a day to 1000 or less than to go from 3000 or more a day to 1000. I cut out a lot of bread, pasta, rice and liquid calories to try to like I would after surgery.…

If you have to spend an hour blow drying and styling you hair, it sounds like you may have the wrong style. You shouldn't have to cut it all off to get it to cooperate but your stylist should be able to suggest a style that better agrees with your hair type and lifestyle. I sweat profusely and wash my hair everyday. I told…

Now that I've lost over 80 pounds, I've started wearing heels again. I'll go up to 3 - 3 1/2 inches. Maybe once I get down to my goal weight I may consider wearing higher ones.

I'm 6' and thrilled to be down to 215 from a high of 296. I would still like to lose another 50 lbs to get to 165.

My port site was tender for almost 2 months post-op, then one day I woke up and it was fine. I haven't had any pain in that area since.
