  • Condoms and Aspirin....I figured the guy was covering all bases
  • I love my Leslie DVDs. I was using them faithfully a few months ago and it really showed a difference. I was seeing a steady .5 - 1.5 loss per week (except TOM) as long as I didn't over eat back my exercise cals.
  • Jon First off, congrats on making the decision to do something about your situation. You have learned the hard way (as many of us have) that this is a lifestyle and not a period of time thing. I am back again for the same reason, I let it go, figured oh what was a few pounds, quit looking at the scale, didn't log anything,…
  • My MIL called and told us to turn on the TV just in time to see the 2nd tower hit (we are on the west coast). I remember sitting on the bed in shock. At the time, my son was 2, I was pregnant with my daughter and my mom was in the hospital recovering from what we had hoped was life saving surgery for cancer. I remember…
  • So Cal (LB/LKWD) here
  • Running issue in our household as well. You can do a variety of sandwiches that you can prep ahead of time, granola bars/fiber bars, fruit / veggies that you can dip in yogurt or hummus, chunks of cheese/crackers/salami (or any other lunch meat to make mini sandwiches that are fun), make sandwiches in pita pockets for…
  • You are fabulous. Your changes are remarkable and inspiring. I take heart from your story as I am working with my pre-teen daughter who is struggling similar to what you stated. I will actually be sharing your post with her tonight so know you are touching young lives with your inspiration.
  • Wow!!!! 1st off - you look fabulous. Obviously your workout is paying off because I weigh less than you and frankly I think you look in better shape. 2nd - don't let some bimbos throw you off track. You are doing this for you and doing great at it. Go back to your gym, get back on that treadmill and keep going. If you see…
  • Walking is a fantastic exercise. Does your heart rate go up? If so, then you are exercising regardless of what it is. I personally do almost only walking and it works. Keep it up
  • Kindness can certainly be hard to come by sometimes (especially at home) but I would be happy to help encourage you. FR sent.
  • this will definately get tried soon
  • You should only weigh daily if you can mentally handle the ups and downs, especially for women. If the daily gets to you, you need to do it only once per week. The number on the scale is just that...a number. There are alot better ways to track success...the fit of your clothes, measurements, or how you are feeling. I…
  • Weekends are a part of life that won't be going away. think of things more in weekly averages instead of daily may help. I try to be more strict during the week because I am more lax on the weekends but since you are still showing a great loss, I wouldn't stress too much over it. Just try to keep some control on it. You…
  • totally awesome change!!!!
  • What a huge victory!!!! congrats
  • Hello. I am in a similar situation. I got down to 140 between kids then another baby and life happened. I started over again on monday at 211.5. I am measuring and weighing everything. Feel free to add me. I do live near you (Lakewood) but I work out normally at home or my work's gym but would still support you.
  • That is truely an incredible feat and you should be so proud of yourself. I bet your son will never say that to you again. Awesome!!!
  • Hello. I am back to MFP after losing 30 two years ago and then let life get the better of me. So I am back and working at it. I am 5'5" and have 50 - 60 I want to lose. It is a slow process but I know I can get there. Anyone can feel free to add me. I am on everyday though I don't always comment as it is difficult if I am…
  • Moxie - first off....give yourself a pat on the back for being here. Now, I can very much appreciate how you worry about your fiance and his health but you are right...you are driving yourself crazy. He is his own man and can take care of himself. Let him worry about his health, weight, what he eats, etc.... Focus on you…
  • Oh hang in there. I have been there as well when my husband left for boot 3 years ago. I decided to make it my goal to lose weight while he was gone and surprise him when he returned. I managed to lose 30 during those 9 months. It is hard but as someone else said, writing helps. I kept a journal book with me and when I had…
  • This month isn't starting off very well but I have no one to blame but myself. Stress eating is causing major issues for me. I need to find the motivation to go for a different outlet.... SW: 211 CW: 203.5 GW: 197 (I am really going to push it for some extra this month to make up for last month's gain.) Weigh in Dates: 6/3…
  • I am with you on everything that has been said. I am 5'5" and weigh 205. I started C25K two years ago and managed to lose 30 pounds but never made it all the way through (life derailed me). Now I am back to trying to lose the weight (again). I have made it my goal for this summer that I will start again and by the end of…
  • Well May was a total flop for me and I ended up gaining.... But i am not going to beat myself up (too much). SW: 211 CW: 203.5 GW: 197 (I am really going to push it for some extra this month to make up for last month's gain.) Weigh in Dates: 6/3 - 203.5 6/6 6/13 6/20 6/27 End of Month (or whatever weigh in days you use)
  • OMG - we were doing this to our cat just last night
  • I quit using MMW as it was so inaccurate on the path I walked. Once it had me walking in a cemetary over a mile away from where I actually was. Plus the GPS signal isn't strong enough to handle walking under things. I switched to Runtastic which does map to MFP and it has been great. It may be off by maybe 1/10 of a mile…
  • I really love the Leslie Samsone Walk at Home Videos. They are easy to do and you can modify to make harder, ie: adding the hand weights. It isn't hard on the joints either. I know you can youtube for at home exercise videos as well, I just haven't because I have so many DVD's. Also, check out your library as you can…
  • Sending a friend request. I was in your shoes a few years ago when I became that single mom of 2 as well. Stay strong and be nice to yourself. You can do this!!!!
  • Just watch the alcohol and sauces on foods. Other than that, enjoy your friends and eat in moderation. Also, get moving as much as possible.
  • I know when my neck is out of whack, I get horrible migraines and headaches. I personally see a chiropractor for them and it helps me personally. I know it isn't for everyone though. Good luck and would definately seek a medical opinion
