I personally don't shy away from any food I enjoy or want. I exercise more or cut back on calories elsewhere to allow me to fit the treat in. I've found depriving myself leads to bingeing on the thing I'm trying to avoid.

I've logged every day since 2nd January. I, too, lost weight then regained, rinse and repeat. Each previous time I wasn't doing it solely for me, first it was a comment about my weight gain from my mum, then a stranger commenting on my fat *kitten* and, most recently, crash dieting for the wedding. This time, I have no…

What is your source? I'm Coeliac and in the UK food sold can only legally be called GF if it has less than 20 parts per million...?

Periods are funny things. Any shock to your body and its idea of normal can totally throw them off. Keep up the great work and your bits will catch up. Of course, I am not a doctor and if it continues or you're concerned, visit your GP.

1400 will be fine, you can always reevaluate after a month or so. I'm 5'1", 204lb and set at 1500. I usually eat 1700-1800 and my exercise ensures I'm not 'over'

I get it. Weekends were always my downfall. I've worked around that by ensuring the first thing I do every weekend morning (after peeing and brushing my teeth) is work out. If I get that in early, it helps me all day as I don't want to undo my hard work.

Did you enter the recipe values exactly as they are? It serves 2 or 3, so values should be halved at least. 2000 calories for the entire recipe doesn't sound outwith the realm of possibility, but that's split over 2 or 3 lunches.

Visit a doctor.

I cannot even be in the same room as cucumber. The smell makes me retch, I don't know why. Melon is a close second. Other than that, nothing I won't eat.

You haven't lost weight in the past few days? Relax. It's normal for me to lose, then gain over a few days, then lose, then a gain... Patience.

Don't worry about 400 calories. You're already eating at a deficit. The worst that will happen is you lose, for example, 1.5lb this week, as opposed to the 1.75lb you might have otherwise. Log it, move on and congratulate yourself for being honest!

@roamingtiger gorgeous smile!

Fellow Scot now living in the south of England. Please enjoy those beautiful Scottish hills, it's too flat down here

As someone with Coeliac Disease, why gluten free?! Since I was diagnosed I gained 30lb so I can assure you, it's not necessarily a healthier way of eating

Uk too. Originally from Glasgow, but now live in Hampshire

I've added you :) I'm Gemma Martin, same profile photo as on here

Wrong, wrong, wrong... It will not cause you to gain weight. I'm coeliac, eat GF replacement items and am happily losing weight. GF products are not a scam, they're an ESSENTIAL for coeliac sufferers like myself. They have been over hyped as super healthy recently which, for me, is great as higher demand means better…

I do occasionally. I get a similar gluten-y reaction with lots of lactose. I've found since being GF that my body can't currently tolerate large doses of lactose. Anything more than one latte or ice-cream can make be feel a bit ill. Apparently it's a fairly common issue while your small intestine is repairing itself.

This! I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease at the start of the year. Symptoms included hairloss, inability to gain weight, tooth decay, skin problems, digestive issues, abdominal pain... If you don't have one or a combination of these, it's EXTREMELY unlikely there is any reason for you to cut it out your diet. Don't…

I was diagnosed with coeliac disease (I'm in the UK) at the start of the year. Definitely get separate utensils and pots and read up on cross contamination and how to prevent it. Also, if you use a toaster you will need separate ones, or toaster bags for the GF items. I try to eat as naturally gluten free as possible with…

Even when training 6 days a week and competing in martial arts, with a BF of 19%, I still had a BMI of 28.7. I'm naturally extremely muscular (albeit with a fat covering now!) so without losing LBM I doubt I'll ever be within my normal range. It works for some and doesn't work for others. Our bodies are all different.

And didn't I notice exactly this when I first picked up free weights. Right-side was all, yeah, I got this while the left-side was wobbling all over the place.

I'm a fan of bars. Just been introduced to Nakd bars. The one I tried was "Cashew Cookie". Easy to make at home by blitzing cashews until broken up, and then adding dates and blending until you're able to form into shapes. Bit of hassle but WAY cheaper than buying!

I make my own sweet and sour chicken from scratch. The sauce is easy; pineapple juice, tomato sauce and vinegar. Loads of veg and chicken over brown rice with the sauce over. A large portion came in at around 550 calories. A lot less than my usual takeaway and satisfied the craving

It really is! I used to be a firm believer in 1200 calories, until last year and it is a massive change you have to make to your mindset! Don't be scared of good fats, they're great for getting your calories up. Just think how hard it will be to gain that muscle back, stick with the strength training! You need these…

Real, gluten-y bread. How I miss thee. Gluten free bread just isn't the same, damn coeliac disease.
-
Feel free to add me. I usually eat 1600-1700 and my diary is open to friends

No. Just no. Net 1200 at a MINIMUM
