@OP My first thought...only people with jobs should own iPhones. No way in God's green earth I'd get my child such an expensive phone. Cell phone at 10, possibly, but definitely not an iPhone. A kid doesn't need that many bells and whistles to stay in communication. Of course I wouldn't say anything to the child, that is…

@ original post: that was a KICK *kitten* comeback!

Keep it up...it can be done! I had RNY in 2004 as well...I did very well for several years (even after having a kid), and then over the last couple of years got into slacker mode. I have about 6 more lbs to lose of the 22 I wanted to be rid of...

In essence, your body has been run over by a mack truck. The fatigue is going to last several weeks...the good news is that it's temporary!

Diabetically speaking, the DS is the best choice for someone looking to rid of it. The good news, is that the sleeve is the 'first part' of the DS, you could always have the second part of the procedure done. I do know lots of people that have had WONDERFUL success with the sleeve, and I always recommend it those who are…

Actually, being at 5'10, you are already at a GREAT weight.

Yes, go to the doc. I've been having foot pain, thought a new pair of running shoes would solve it, doc thinks I have a stress fracture. I'm dying to hit the treadmill again but I don't want to do worse damage (already suspect I ran on it for a while), so I'm waiting to hear back for sure before I get back to moving.

I want to know more about this book! I'm going to have to pick it up...

It's a good jump, but that's all it is. I know people that run to this more often than is healthy.

How much weight have you gained? I'm 8yrs out...I stumbled onto MFP because I gained 22 back I didn't want. The good news is...it is working!!!!

Can anyone recommend a specific scale? I want to get one.

Depending on their level of nastiness...sometimes I try to educate them. I secretly want to tell them to kiss my *kitten*, and tell them to come back to me in a year or two when they are fighting their demons all over again. Yes, I'm here because I put on 22lbs I didn't want...but screw them, on 5/3/2012, I'll have my…

It wasn't too bad. I had mine done back in Sept. It was a couple of days of being sore....then several of just being tired. But overall a breeze. I got an endometrial ablation with it as 'double insurance' LOL

Way to rock it!!! Good for you. I bet you feel amazing!

I don't take it for granted, not one single day. I work in a Neuropsych clinic...I've seen how 'one moment' can change EVERYTHING.

Some of my big go-tos are canned chicken breast, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, salads, fresh fruit, yogurt, string cheese. Sandwiches on whole grain sandwich thins.

^^^Not true at all. "Most' are NOT malnourished or 'micromanaged'. There CAN be deficiencies if you don't eat correctly. Post-op eating should be protein heavy so that you do not lose muscle. I'm coming up on my 8th year post-op and have had ZERO problems/complications. Do not paint everyone with such a broad brush.

Sexuality lies on a continuum anyway. I don't think anyone is all the way 'right' or 'left'. See the Kinsey studies.

Yes, he has an idea. He has watched me lose 160lbs over the course of our relationship. I'm not ashamed to divulge at all...considering that my weight used to have a 3 in front of it.

Trying adding an extra 100-200 calories. Google and try to find other calorie calculators. MFP is NOTORIOUSLY low on the numbers.

You can usually fit in most foods with a little healthy adjustments, as a previous poster suggested. I would NOT be fixing two meals. He needs to compromise with you somehow or learn to cook for himself.
