Not without the chest strap.....

Some can get a radial pulse HRM but the F7 is not that type. Chest strap monitering is more accurate.

The chest strap is what gathers your heart rate, so yes, you need to wear it.

Go to a running shop, not a sporting goods store or foot locker a true running store and they will tell you what shoe is best for you. Everyone is completely different when it comes to shoes. Go get fitted and see what's best for your tootsies!

Just sold my Polar FT4 but I loved it. I upgraded to a Gramin with GPS but loved the Polar for the HRM. I wouldn't wear it for normal daily activites such as work. I don't ever count my daily work as calories burned beause that's my normal day. Anything above and behond your normal daily activities is consitered exercise.

Most gyms offer a orientation day where they go over each machine and show you how to properly use it. I'd suggest that first.

I don't avoid it for the reasons mentioned in the OP. I just have never ever been a huge soda person. Even as a kid, I chose water over pop. These sayd I maybe have Diet Coke maybe once a month but it takes me the whole day to drink it. I actually perfer La Croix flavored sparkling water. It's not sweet at all but it nice…

I think he means you should be able to do WAY more with your chest then 30#.

According to the nutrition guild on their website it's 280 calories.

I live in the country so I have no sidewalks. It's road for me. If I had an option, it would depend on if the sidewalk was asphault or cement. If it's cement, I would chose an asphault road. Much better on your body then running on cement.

This is a huge debate on MFP. I belieive according to their guidlines, it says you should eat back about 50% of the calories earned through exercise. I personally sometimes do and sometimes don't. Personal preference.

egg whites and turkey bacon are ususally a go to for me.

Sore is ok, pain is bad. Only you know the difference. If it's just sore, I'd keep going. If it's actual true pain, I'd take it easy and maybe a nother day off. I don't ever have any "planned" days off. When I feel like I need a day off I take it.

ME, but now I kind of feel like a giant running failure. I've been running not quite a year and am barely able to complete 4.5-5 miles. LOL! You can add me anyway!

Either way....it still tastes like crap....

Are you using a HRM to track calories burned? Seems maybe you are overcalculating calories burned. If all your cardio is on an elliptacle I would definitely invest in a HRM. They are grossly inaccurate for calories burned.

Is the chest strap tight enought? It has to be relatively tight to get a reading, also it has to be pretty high. I actually slip mine under my sports bra. It sits right between the bottom of my boobs. Dumb question, does the chest strap have on of those little pull tabs over the battery? You may just have to pull the…

Go for a walk, work out, clean the bathroom, do laundry, make the bed, walk the dog, go shopping, read a book. Anything to occupy your mind so you're not bored.

My sis-in-law is a BB coach and she gave me one to try....YUCK! Totally tastes like artifical sweetner. I'll just stick with my Beverely International Protein powder. I'd rather spend $50 on a tub of protein I'll use!

I too started c25k with 50+ lbs to lose. I started last March. I've lost 35lbs siince I started running, i ran several 5k's last year and have even bigger plans for this year. It's totally do able.

I got a Garmin Forerunner 210 for Christmas and I LOVE IT!! The GPS is very accurate and it also has a HRM if you can stand the chest strap. They don't bother me but I know for sone it's unbareable. When I started running I used a Polar FT4 whitch has no GPS only to track calories burned, but watned to upgrade since my…

As far as preventing them, if you are wearing thin socks when you are working out, ditch those. If you can find (and afford) them, I'd suggest Feetures socks. I use them for running and they are amazing.

I usually let blisters go until they drain on their own. If I'm running and it pops on it's own they I'll bandage it and keep it covered while I'm active, but let it breathe and dry out when I'm at home. As far as proventing them in the furure. What kind of sockes are you wearing? If you are wearing thin socks, ditch those…

I started running about a year ago. It's hard...it never gets "easy". I run every other day and I still have sore shins or sore calves. It's just that it doesn't really bother me anymore. I absolutley love running and can't imagine not being able to do it. Now, commiting to a half with only a few months to train is quite…

I don't avoid it because it's bad for me. I avoid it because it's gross.
