  • I'd like to be a size 4-6. I am 5'8 and currently a size 8, but with my frame I think I could be slimmer. I'm probably going to start lifting later in the year which should help my slim down process!
  • You look great! I wished I looked as proportionate as you when I was 165 (I'm also 5'8 but have a small frame, so even at 150 I think I look chubbier than you). Awesome job!!
  • Funny that you mention that, as I, too, was reading Fast Food Nation when I first saw this documentary. I am about halfway through part 4, but Weight of the Nation motivated me to walk up the 8 flights of stairs to my cubicle in the mornings instead of taking the elevator. Scary stuff.
  • I did the whole DVD a few weeks back. I did each level 4x/week for two weeks (except level 3 I only did 7 times total). I thought it was really great for toning my thighs & butt since my thighs are my problem area. However, I'd say level 3 was easy in comparison with level 2, which was insane. I actually was bored of level…
  • I just finished Killer Buns & Thighs. Totally a great workout! I did each level 4x/wk for two weeks and definitely saw a difference at the end! Though I have to say level 2 is the most intense... level 3 felt downright easy after suffering through level 2. lol. But, you might be able to get a better deal if you buy them…
  • My fiance & I just bought groupons for 20 classes of yoga at a studio not too far away, and I can't wait to start! The studio does mostly vinyasa classes but I think my first class will be a beginner one just to get the feel before I plunge into the regular classes. :) I'm planning on making the classes a part of my…

  • That's easy for you to say, but you don't know my former neighbor - old, bitter, and hostile against the world. I'm not going to justify myself because I don't feel the need to defend my comment to some internet stranger.
  • Whatever. F*** your neighbor. I have no sympathy for her, and reading your situation actually pisses me off because when I lived with my mom, we lived on a second floor apartment and we had some old guy living below us who thought we were too loud and complained to my mom about it. Seriously, we were out every day from…
  • I'm the same. I get up at 5:20 am and I'm at the gym by 5:35 (or working out to an exercise DVD by 5:30 depending on the day) so there's no way I'm eating before I work out. I usually drink my coffee around 7 am and then eat at 8:30 when I get to work (usually cereal, followed up by an egg for protein around 9:30-10 ... I…
  • Yes, Anita is so much more awesome than Natalie, hands down. I am doing level 3 Killer Buns & Thighs right now (did 30DS before KB&T) and Anita does the advanced moves on level 2. I think Anita should be the advanced model on every level... she just kills it every time!
  • I was just about to say this! All of my workout gear has come from Target. A couple months ago I decided to splurge & buy myself all new workout stuff, because I barely ever get new things. I live in an apartment & we only go to the laundromat every two weeks, so I have enough workout shirts for 2 weeks (about 12 days) of…

  • I am 100% opposed to student loan forgiveness. I graduated in December 09 with a few dollars short of $18k in student loan debt & paid it off about 13 months after the first payment came due (19 months after graduation). I also chose to go to the school that gave me the most financial aid, worked on campus at a work-study…
  • Ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, pizza, beer, anything with cheese... nom! I do try to keep things in moderation, and I work out extra hard if I know I'm going to be eating a lot... like this weekend I know is gonna kill me cuz it's Easter... ahhhh...
  • 5'8, 152 lbs. my jeans are US 10s but they're loose... I could probably fit into an 8 but I hate jean shopping! I have a 28" waist 37" hips.
  • 1) My gym membership 2) My HRM. I bought it a year ago and it was one of the best investments I've ever made. I love knowing approximately how many calories I burn per workout... usually my HRM shows a figure way lower than the machines! 3) Jillian Michaels workout DVDs (though I'm looking to add Chalean Extreme & the Butt…
  • I get up at 5:20 am to go to the gym during the week, and usually I'm done my workouts by 6:30. Sometimes I'll go to the gym in the morning & then come home and exercise again with a Jillian Michaels dvd right after work, around 5 pm. I also try to walk at least 15 minutes during my lunch break. Saturdays are my rest days…
  • I want to add to my original statement that yes, I find jogging boring (but then I find ALL cardio exercise boring at the gym... I just do it for how I feel afterwards!), but at my gym there are TVs on some of the treadmills so it helps that I can plug my headphones in and watch the news to pass the time. I don't have…
  • I've heard that jogging outdoors is much more difficult than jogging on a treadmill at no incline. To combat this, I jog on the treadmill at a 1.0 incline... I know it's not quite the same as jogging outside, but it at least takes a bit more effort than jogging at no incline.
  • I just finished 30 Day Shred on Wednesday & started one of her other DVDs, Killer Buns and Thighs, yesterday. 30 Day Shred definitely got me in shape enough to make it through level 1 of Killer Buns and Thighs. Without 30DS, I might not have been able to do it! I think it's a great DVD to start with because it gives you a…
  • Woo hoo! Thanks for all the awesome responses! I'm definitely gonna check out that group, and look for friend requests coming soon. :) (can't wait to go pick up the pizza we ordered... I was pretty good today so I'm gonna splurge on a couple pepperoni slices and maybe a beer... LOL, happy Friday all!)
  • Let me start out by saying I don't have a lot to lose - only about 15 lbs. I haven't really lost any weight doing the 30 DS but I have lost inches. I lost an inch off my bust, an inch off my waist, and two inches off my hips, which are the only things I have measured. I noticed my pants fit a bit looser now. My thighs,…
  • My fiancé & I are both at healthy weights for our respective heights (with me at the higher end of that). He is extremely fit & likes to be active when he can. I've point blank told him I don't want us to be the older, obese married couple - I want him to help me stay fit & active & that I'll do the same for him. I just…
  • Oh man... I just did day 3 of level 3... I'm really starting to feel it now! Man, level 3 *seems* somewhat easier than level 2, but the afterburn is so much more intense! And that's with me doing most of the modified planks and push-ups because I am still a weakling. I hope everyone else is enjoying level 3!

  • I didn't grow up being taught healthy eating habits and it has hindered me as a teenager and now as an adult. My mom was depressed & my dad was not a very involved parent. Then they separated when I was 11, and through my preteen & early teen years my home life was unstable. My mom now feels guilty for allowing us as kids…
  • I am on day 3, level 3 of 30 DS & I have done each level for 10 days straight. I took a rest day in between each level so it will take me 33 days to get through it. I'm fine with it, though.

  • My fiance & I moved in together on December 30 so we only have 2 months of food expenditure info available, and since it's our first home together (both of us previously lived with parents) we had to buy a lot of stuff for the first time like spices, oils, etc. In January we spent a little over $400 and in Feb we spent…
  • I just did level 3, day 2 this morning! Man, all the jumping is crazy. I find though that this level isn't nearly as intense as level 2... then again, I can't do the full on planks or push-ups, but still doing the modified versions of those moves is still tough. Happy working out!

  • My biggest weakness was stuffing my face as soon as I got home from work, around 5 pm. For a while I'd grab anything in the house - chips, cereal, whatever, and chow down for a good 15-20 minutes nonstop. I've pretty well broken myself of the habit by now, but that's due to a large amount of willpower and also 2 evenings a…
  • That's how I felt my first day of level 2. I, too, was doing all advanced moves by the end of level 1, except for the pushups. Last night, I just completed the full 10 days of level 2, and tomorrow I'm going to start level 3. It DOES get easier & I definitely felt that my upper body strength improved during the course of…
