  • Every 4 to 6 weeks schedule a week where you eat at maintenance calories and lighten up on the exercise. I also don't go real low calorie to begin with. I plan to still have the sweets, "bad food" etc while dieting. First you don't burn out as fast and I try to make it so when I reach my goal I can still enjoy life at…
  • eat nuts. I like walnuts myself. they are calorie dense and healthy.
  • First figure out which one is causing the problem. Drop one for a week and see if you feel bad. Once you have determined which one it is, and you really want to take it switch brands and see if it is better. I had that problem with multi vitamins. Finally found one that did not upset my stomach. But I would definitely nit…
  • I would think "splitting" would be dependent on what routine you are following. I just started Starting Strength and there are only 3 lifts per day, all compound lifts so you cant split them really. I like the compound lift/whole body idea because the workout is short but hits everything.
  • Something will happen as far as regulation in the future. I don't like the thought of it at all. Look back ten years ago. What was "the number one health crisi in the US".? Smoking was. Now look where we are. Banned everywhere. Yes a lot of people like that. So they will attack the food in the same way at some point…
  • I used my HRM when I was doing them. I created an exercise called tap out. Then I put which one I did in the comments. If you don't have one I would get one. Everybody is different and calculators can be way off
  • Ian going to use Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength. Total body workouts 3 times a week.
  • Net calories is food intake minus exercise. It should equal the number oc calories MFP gives you.
  • The biggest difference I see is the smiles. You both look a lot happier.
  • To me heavy is doing either 3x5 or 5x5. (setsxreps). The amount of weight maybe 10 lbs. most heavy lifters do at least the compound lifts as a general rule. ( squats, dead lifts, bench press, press and cleans.)
  • Check out ddpyoga.com. It is a good workout and he gives yo 13 basic moves In One session. He ha changed some of the names of traditional yoga, it is is fun. Forgive the typos.
  • I think Chalean extreme uses bands but not positive. It is y Beachbody
  • I am doing DDP Yoga. IT can be intense if you do it the way he says to do it. Yes DDP was a wrestler in the 80's. That is why it's tag line is "This ain't your mommas's yoga!" LOL For a 55 year old man he can do some pretty amazing things. Most of the workouts are 20 to 25 minutes. There are 3 or 4 of the more intense ones…
  • DDP Yoga. Ther are only 3 of the dozen or so workouts that are over 30 minutes and they are more advanced. It's not your Mona's yoga! LOL People also say 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels is about 20 minutes and you can check it out on YouTube for free
  • Yesterday morning I weighed 229. This morning I weighed 234. Not a big deal because I know 3500 calories nakeds a pound. I go by measurements and pics, much more reliable.
  • I use 45/35/20. Alot of em2lw people use 40/30/30.
  • Great post! I believe the first words out of your mouth when answering the question "Who are you" is usually what you use to define yourself. For most it is what they do for work.
  • Consider going wheat/gluten free. Do a 2 week trial and see if that helps your bloating and IBS. A lot of people say it has really helped them. I found it easier to just remove all wheat and not try to replace it. I had the attitude it is only for 2 weeks, I can live that long without bread! And I did, it was no problem…
  • http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/. This calculator seems to work for me. Just make sure you get the hours exercised added up correctly.
  • Obvious choice given where you run is International harvester. Especially if you have seen the video! Daddy's money by Ricochet. To lighten the mood you can use online, ticks, and celebrity. :)
  • Planks, pushups, side planks, super man, squats, lunges, with or without weights. Search for boy weight exercises online/you tube..
  • Yes you are cheating yourself by not doing full pushups. If it is wrist pain try doing them by making a fist and doing them. Your wrist is not flexed by doing this.
  • Sounds pretty accurate to me. I just finished tap out xt and all the exercises you mentioned I did doing the workouts. Given I what I was burning I would say that is pretty close to what I was burning doing 45 minute workouts.
  • Just finished Tapout. Really enjoyed doing it. Did not lose any weight but lost some inches. I upped my calories just after I started because I wanted to build some muscle. It was very successful there! I used my HRM for calories burned and time and just created a custom exercise (tap out) under cardio vascular. Then in…
  • Haven't heard of those. You might check out DDP Yoga. Kind of the same principle it sounds like. People with joint/back issues reave about it. I am just started it just to reduce the pounding on my knees.
  • I have a DVD of it that I did for just a little while. It was a very serene type of yoga 9at least the DVD I have is). Very relaxing and helped with flexibility. I am doing DDP Yoga right now. Depending on what you want out of the yoga you might look into it. There are a lot of people with physical problems that seem to…
  • Check out DDP yoga.
  • I would find a good yoga DVD. I really enjoy the tap out except for that one. Physically yoga will help with balance and to limber you up. Unless you choose a power yoga or something like that I doubt you will burn many calories. I may get DDP Yoga when I finish tap out at the end of this month. It is supposed to help…
