  • You can do this. I started in mid March and was soo intimidated by week 7 that I nearly psyched myself out, but folks on this site kept me going. Do not let your mind play tricks with you. Even if you half-a*s it throught the workout the first time and modify the heck out of things, KEEP MOVING FORWARD. You know you can do…
  • I'm with you. I'm on the third and final week of this phase, and they have not gotten easier! I feel like my arms are too short or something. I manage four or five, then I'm seriously just resting on my head (which cannot be good for the neck!). Weird exercise - maybe Jillian threw it in there to be edgy and outrageous.…
  • You're doing the right thing. In the long-run, it is a minor setback and you don't want to turn it into something major. Good luck!

  • You don't have to look graceful (gosh, she makes everything look like it should be so smooth and easy). Work those particular muscles in that form as much as you can (modify if you need to, but keep those muscles working). Personally, I struggled with a lot of the yoga stuff, but plugged along. I'm in week 9 now, and some…

  • I'm going to go for it. I previewed 9, 10, and cardio 3. Looks like all are fast-paced and incorporate cardio and weights (much more of a blend than a clear line between cardio and "workout" as in previous weeks). I think I can do it. I'll let you know!
  • I plan to do workouts 7-12 and cardio 2 and 3 in cycles and mix it up with some running. I love that the workouts are only 30 minutes, so I want to hang on to that, but I also have to take advantage of good running weather while it lasts.
  • LOVE cardio 2! When I exercise, I need to play "mind games" with myself so I know how much longer I can plan to suffer. Intervals in cardio 1 are too long and I searched for verbal cues from Jillian so I could talk myself into sticking with them. Cardio 2 is faster and more intense, but somehow more manageable for me. I…
  • If you received the green "replacement cable" because of overwhelming demand....it's not you. It's the cable! The green cable stinks. It's too short and thick. See if you can get the real cable that was supposed to come with the program (exactly like the video). I replaced my cable with a longer one (about a foot longer,…
  • Radioraven, you should really be proud of yourself. I'm looking forward to completing the 90 days and I'll probably feel just the way you do. I haven't missed a single workout and (as much as I have cursed Jillian Michaels on tough days) I'm so grateful for this program and what it has taught me about my body and what it…

  • Wow - I find a huge step up from 6 to 7! I didn't find 8 to be as tough, probably because there are not all the planks, pushups and multi-step moves as there are in 7. Crow pushups - what is the secret? Why do they look so smooth and easy when Jillian and the crew are doing them? Am I placing my hands too far forward or…
  • Personally, I'd take the 2 weeks off COMPLETELY. If you try to push it, your recovery is likely to take longer - can you imagine how long you'd be laid up if you damaged tendons? Just rest up, recover, and see what you feel up to when the two weeks is over. Mono makes you feel like a wrung out dish towel that's been left…
  • It's a good thing I don't actually have the resources to have Jillian as a trainer or to join her class in person. I think I'd get myself into some serious trouble with my mouth (Jillian is small but scrappy, so I know it wouldn't end well for me  )
  • Tha'ts really a shame. You'd think every customer service representative would want to "make it right" for the customer. You weren't making some weird, outlandish demands....oh well, it's their loss. Good luck.
  • Yes - take your measurements and some pictures as comparison. DO NOT weigh yourself too soon or too often - some of us have been a bit discouraged that the scales aren't moving as quickly as we'd anticipated. Bear in mind that you are going to lose fat and you are going to tighten up and build up some muscle which make the…
  • I bought one at a sporting goods store today (should have taken the time to go throught customer service, but I could not go another day with the crummy green one.) My new one is approximately 12 inches longer than the one sent with JMBR! I was told that they are "standard" length and the tension is the only variable.
  • I had some vitamins added to my order somehow - an extra $30 I think. (I was charged for them and had to go through the process of calling and cancelling). Also, when choosing to do the "4 easy monthly payments" online, your online order summary will show it as if you paid the full amount up front, but your credit card…
  • Ooh boy! I'm going to be watching this thread! I'm on week 6, but my (morbid?) curiosity wants to see what everyone thinks of 11 and 12. Good luck. You have all come so far and you are leading the way for the rest of us!
  • The day is not a total loss (and a chocolate chip muffin is not the worst thing in the world). Just plan your lunch, snack and dinner carefully. Keep moving forward!
  • My knees are sore also (had to abandon my running routine for fear I'd really have serious problems). I think you can modify and still keep up with the program. For example, during the alternating knee thrusts of Cardio 2, I take a couple of little steps to adjust the direction of my leg instead of the slide/swivel I see…
  • Yes. It seems as if many of us were "stuck" with the replacement and we're not happy either. Of course, one would like to think she's getting what she paid for, but it's a little sticky when you'r watching the video and saying, "why does it look so easy, why is my so much shorter?" and you we don't know if we're just being…

  • The meal plan is based on about 1200 calories per day (250 for breakfast, 400 for lunch, 150 for snack, 400 for dinner). Low carb, lots of lean protein and vegetables. While you wait for your books, I'd plan on buying: fat free plain greek yogurt, eggs, canadian bacon, leafy greans for salad, red onion, tomatoes, baby…
  • Does anyone know what JM recommends? I really like the idea of going through the 90 days again with the extra weights (pressing the "up button").
  • No actual tears yet, but some whimpering, occasional shouting back, and a few rather inappropriate outbursts. Jillian and I have the proverbial "love/hate" relationship. I hate her and would shank her during a workout, but when I see my abs or shoulder muscles I cheerily say "I love Jillian Michaels" - weird, but it's…
  • Gerbies - what a great idea for a thread! I know I have complained in a few threads that this program wasn't meeting my expectations in terms of weight loss, but you have really made me stop and think about what I have accomplished: 1. I no longer have to use a pony-tail holder to connect my button to the buttonhole on my…
  • Nothing so far has matched the soreness of kickstart week for me (for two days I said "ooh, ooh, ooh" each time I walked down the stairs at home!). I sort of enjoy the soreness I'm having now. I know something wonderful is happening to my muscles and when that soreness goes away, it's time for the "up button" and the next…
  • I'm not weighing or measuring again until I finish phase 2. I realized at week 3 that my changes are not going to be immediately evident on the scale. I think I bought into the promise of rapid weight loss, but didn't think enough about how beneficial the program would be toward flexibility, endurance and strength. I have…
  • Wow! What a tremendously inspiring story! So often, we defeat ourselves with negative thinking and allow ourselves to give up. Your hubby must be very proud of you and you should be very proud of yourself. Best of luck at your next half marathon!
  • Mountain Climbers Kill my feet! I was able to plug through everything else, but the soles of my feet were cramped and burning after those - I could hardly walk. Has anyone else ever experienced that? I'll add that I have very wide, flat feet and wear Brooks Dyad because they've been my preferred running shoe for several…
  • Nice work! I just finished phase 1 and haven't had such noticeable results. You're keeping me motivated!
  • Oh boy - a few of us have had this discussion. It is a proverbial "can of worms" - we all started this program with the expectation that we would be losing pounds and inches (Jillian Michaels says something like, "not 1-2 pounds per week, but 4-5 pounds, crazy, sick weight" ). Yes, even some of us who followed the…
