This is me...lol. Exactly! I've tried Tilapia...nope just can't do it! I've never liked ANY kind of seafood and tried many times. I'd love to be able to eat it for both health benefits and sooo many things are made with seafood. Oh well :(

They must mean b/c of their low sodium. Avocados are VERY low in sodium. I love them and eat them just about everyday! They are very yummy on sandwiches, salads, wraps, guacamole or just to eat plain!

Do you mean because they are very low in sodium? Just curious because obviously more sodium increases high blood pressure and risk of stroke. Just wanted to clarify!

Scratch that! Still going strong starting tomorrow...had a surprise party thrown for me at work cause I got a promotion...ughhhhhh i did tell my coworkers now that I am starting a 'diet' on saturday so no more surprises :)

But there aren't really any "rounds" to it. That is the problem. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet. You have to stick with the program, which phase 3 is simple. You're allowed quite a bit of healthy carbs (Which is what you should be eating on any eating plan). You can't just go off it and expect to lose/maintain weight.…

As far as this statement goes, if you go on ANY diet, including MFP and start bad eating habits up again you will gain weight. You have to accept whatever you do as a lifestyle change. Tina - I personally prefer South Beach. I just started Phase 1 today. You aren't allowed any fruits but you are allowed LOTS of veggies,…

Just wanted you all to know, I am actually starting up my 2 weeks on Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet tomorrow :) Why wait?! I'm excited! And bummed no more yummy carbs, at least not for two weeks haha.

I love pasta, too! And rice..and cereal and bread! haha plus all the sweets of course... Whole grain is definitely a better option but I just looked at the back of one of my pasta boxes that's whole grain, it still has a net total of 35 carbs. I would say it's ok once in a while but definitely try to stray away from it.…

Alright! Sounds good to me :) That gives us 3 days to get everything together!

How about on Saturday I start a topic under support topics and we can just check in there? :)
-
No Atkins for me either, I love fruit and other good carbs :) I have a South Beach Diet book already and I really like the system they use, I will definitely be using this!

I completely agree with you! I wonder about some people myself :P I work in service and nothing drives me crazy when I address someone by saying "Hello, how are you today?" and they don't even acknowledge me. They usually just grunt something about what they need or stand there and expect me to be able to read their mind…

That's great! :) I am definitely a carb addict! It will be a very tough road ahead of me as well. I am thinking I am going to try and focus on the South Beach Diet for a guideline here, unless I find something more appealing between now and Saturday.

Dr. Oz talked about this on his show last week. He said he in no way endorses the product as they don't really know the long term effects but he said he does take it himself. He said you'd have to drink like 200 something bottles of wine a day to get what's in 500mg a day of that stuff! I'm going to start taking it myself…

I try to keep my fruit in the morning with breakfast and my morning snack b/c they are higher in sugars. I normally eat them before/after a workout for my carb :)

Welcome to MFP, you will love it here!

I know exactly what you mean about conflicting information! I have A LOT of information in my head about losing weight, living healthy, etc. A lot of it is conflicting. It can be very frustrating but I think mostly it's due to different things working for different people. I think it's a lot of trial and error and even…

Hello and welcome to MFP!!! :)

I recently completed a nutrition class and we talked a lot about diabetes and controlling blood sugar levels. When you eat the pasta that makes your blood sugar go crazy are you eating it with a protein? The one thing I learned was that you must eat adequate protein to stabilize your blood sugar and slow down digestion or…
