I'm going to attempt reverse searing my Christmas gifted beef tenderloin with a cauliflower casserole on the side and lay around in a meat coma until 2015 rolls in.

Wow this topic really blew up! Thanks for all the inspiration :)

Thanks for the recommendations and the linkage :) I think I'm going to check out Nerdfitness and work my way up to the 5x5. You are all great motivation for me :)

Why didn't I think of that? There are some seriously awesome recipes and ideas in this thread, but if it comes down to it I may have to bag it and freeze it so as not to be wasteful. Thanks!

I need to learn your voodoo! I seem to always skip straight to mushville population 2: me and sadness.

If you're putting it in your coffee (look up bullet proof coffee recipes for more info on that) I would recommend getting a drink aerator you can find them pretty cheap at amazon or bed bath and beyond mine is called the aerolatte. you just put your coconut oil in the bottom of your cup, pour your hot coffee over the top,…

I've been toying around with my goals and calorie range since the beginning of the year http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ was super helpful in figuring out what your calorie range should be based on bmr and even breaks down calories per meal based on your goals :)

Getting my masters in social work. Would give it up in a heartbeat to write and travel full time, but we can't all be on the travel channel. What an interesting post!

I'm going to be in a wedding in September--feel free to add me :)
-
I'm another who got the date moved up suddenly. I thought they had until September 2014, but may only have until March. Eeep! Good news is it might be a Vegas wedding and I can pick my own dress. Bad news---it's the desert and too flippin hot to properly conceal my bingo wings. Time to put on the game face and pick up the…

Skewers! Fruit skewers, veggie skewers, some fancy caprese skewers (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/caprese-antipasticks-recipe/index.html). You could mix in some cheese tortelini as well or make some fun dipping sauces. :)

Diets suck. Diet brings up all these ideas about restrictions and limitations and will inevitably incur an uprising from our inner two year old who can only be satiated with oreos and cheese poofs. You need to just focus on nourishing your body and making some long-lasting changes in the way you eat (think more veggies and…

Lol This ^

This thread gives me hope lol You're such lovely pear shaped goddesses I can't wait to have similar results!

I'm going to avoid the battle between the two sides and just give my own personal experience with the stuff. I drank diet sodas and generally enjoyed all manner of artificial sweeteners for at least 10 years, but starting in 2012 I started having terrible reactions to it. First started with just regular gas -embarrassing,…

Always been a tubby kid, but a back injury right before starting graduate school was the kiss of death to the limited success I had been having. Oy Vey!

I haven't thought about this in such a long time because I really haven't been motivated to think that far ahead in quite some time. I want to dye my hair a beautiful coppery Gillian Anderson red and wear spindly sky high stilettos without fear that my weight will cause a humiliating wardrobe malfunction.

You don't have to be perfect to start losing weight/getting fit/whatever your goal may be. You just need to make the junk food a smaller part of your intake than your healthy food. Someone once told me to take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On the left write down everything you LOVE to eat that are just…

Berries are fairly low carb though I don't think they qualify as induction friendly. Have you tried adding more fat to your diet? Usually if I'm craving sweet I'm not getting enough grams of fat per day.

Yay Imgur! and Yay you! Way to go!

I'm in! I love Halloween and my friends and I are planning to go as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus-I'm Sara eeeep! What's everyone else going as for Halloween? What is your motivation?

Mama Lupe low carb wraps are my favy. Low cal low carb and the closest to a real tortilla in texture and flavor as I've found. I order them from netrition.com

I've been very anti-chicken breast for a while (simple overkill) but recently I tried sauteing one in those new land o lakes satue starter butter/olive oil pods. Trimmed the fat, little salt and pepper, heat the saute starter until it gets melty then saute the breast for 3-4 minutes per side depending on the thickness.…

Try Reddi Whip chocolate. It's divine and I hear its good on strawberries ...but I've been hitting it straight from the can. (15 calories btw)

Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll stock up on some almonds and try adding them in as snacks. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

I buy La tortilla factory brand low carb wraps (there are a variety of low carb wraps out there this one is just my favy) and I smear on some nut butter and some berries and away I go in the morning. If you're accustomed to doing a porridge in the morning you can make a rough porridge out of flax meal. Try pouring 1/2 cup…

bulletproof coffee did the trick for me- I don't think I was eating enough fat previously and all the water and fiber supplements just seemed to make things worse. One cup of bulletproof coffee (black coffee+tbls coconut oil+tbls butter) and balance was restored :)

I'm in the same boat. While you can't necessarily target weight loss to particular body parts you can work on 'toning' areas which helps make you feel better about them :) Youtube Cassey Ho she has quite a few thigh/leg/butt workouts that use your own body weight. I've been doing them since the start of the year and I can…

Anyone have a recipe for a low carb sweet fix that doesn't use artificial sweeteners? (can't have stevia either) I'm googling, but coming up kind of stumped.
