Yeah Strava all the way. There is also a huge community of bikers on there and you can see how well you are doing compared to others. It really helps you push yourself to ride harder

Frances Moore Lappe, the author of Diet For a Small Planet (the woman who coined the complete protein) only stated her opinion about complete proteins and it was just a theory. In her revised book 20th edition of Diet for a Small Planet, pages 168-180, she brings up her theory and states she does not believe that anymore.…

I'm not saying to eat a head of lettuce, I'm just proving a point that even lettuce has protein in it. Almost all plants have some sort of protein and if you eat a variety each day, you are good to go.

The thought of trying to keep track of you amino acids sounds like a total nightmare! I am so glad it is a myth and as long as you eat a well balanced diet, you will get everything you need. Protein is so easy to get and I think people do not realize that. Did you know a whole head of romaine lettuce has 8 grams of…

I went on a hike at Linville Gorge in NC and it was beautiful! We went on Shortoff Mountain. One of my favorite places to hike ever. Check out Google images of the place https://www.google.com/search?q=shortoff+mountain+trail&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=g_VTUvOkMYKc9QS7zIGgDg&ved=0CEYQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=677&dpr=1

I make random trail mixes all the time. I just use whatever is in my cupboard. Cereal, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, pretzels, chips. Anything I can put in a container and shake up

I hate the rain! Well, sorta

Strava is addictive in a good way. I make my kids do exercises to gain time on the computer and for video games. Running, bike riding, lifting weights, jumping jacks....whatever they want to do. 30 minutes of exercise equals 30 minutes of game time.

"I have too many tattoos!" ~said no one EVER

Lots of awesome trails around here. I will be camping/riding at Tsali in June! Can't wait!

There are no secret magic pills or ways to lose weight. Just get out there, exercise, and eat healthy!

Mixing chia seeds and agave with your water will keep you fueled. It is healthier than Gatorade which has carcinogenic brominated vegetable oil in it. The agave is for a quick energy boost in the beginning while the seeds wait a little longer to to give you a boost. This is due to how fast they digest in the body, glycemic…

Don't think of spin class as too hard. The great thing about it is you can adjust your tension and slow down if you need to. It is the best cardio burner at the gym! Definitely more than Zumba. You will be drenched in sweat afterwards. Zumba is a little lighter cardio and fun if you like dancing. It depends on your workout…

Also: lots and lots of beans! He stresses that so much in the book, and for good reason :)
You are allowed 1 cup of beans/lentils per day

You look like you weigh 50 pounds less than you do! Congrats!

I never delete people. I guess I just don't care. If they are not active, I won't notice so it doesn't bother me

I talk walks during lunch just to get out of the office. Thats about it though

Me too! I also smoked with my kids unfortunately. I am ashamed and wish I could have quit then. I did cut back and barely smoked, but I still did. My kids are beautiful, smart, and perfect . I now have been smoke free for 7 years. It is such a hard addiction and feel if you have not been in that situation, you have no…

Tonya Kay is a kick *kitten* example of a healthy raw vegan professional dancer. Plus she is super hot! http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kristi15.htm

I think I would compare my internal organ structure to a gorilla before a squirrel and that is what I was replying about Gorllia's are close to being raw vegans minus 3% of bugs Western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla): This subspecies consumes parts of at least 97 plant species. About 67% of their diet is fruit,…

HRM is more accurate for exercises that do not involve forward motion. I would recommend HRM. Unless you walk or run a lot

Gorllias have the same eating patterns as low fat raw vegans too
I'm curious though, name one Iron Man athlete that eats like that, 10% proteins, 10% fat ?
4 Time Finisher Hawaii Ironman (PR 9:43) 4 Time Finisher Lake Placid Ironman (PR 9:38) http://www.thefruitarian.com

Here is a recipe for Tempeh Helper. It is amazing! I delivered pizzas years ago on a military base and believe me it was a hard job. I would always tip all food service workers at least 20%. If you can't afford to tip, then you should really eat from places where tipping is not expected.

I would say my 3 favs are Vegan Express by Nova Atlas, Vegan Yum Yum by Lauren Ulm, and Appetite For Reduction by Isa Chandra. I am what you would call a cookbook addict. I have so many but I always go back to these ones as they are my favs!

I would always run with my dog. They are gret runners and they LOVE it!

And add some nutritional yeast to them
