  • If you're looking for more inspiration, you should check out theoatmealartist.blogspot.com - it has so many great recipes!
  • MFP does not factor in what you burn during exercise, so you have to add that on top of the 1320.
  • And you don't "really need to lose 15 pounds by the end of this month". It's not a race.
  • You need to eat more. 1000-1200 calories isn't nearly enough to fuel your body, especially when you're working out.
  • Sorry to not give you a clear answer, but I think you just have to figure out what works for you. Some people can only work out after eating, and some need to work out fasting. I'm a little of both - I need to eat something the last hour before a bike ride, but I get horrible stomach cramps if I eat anything at all the…
  • It depends on what kind of rye bread. If it's the true Danish stuff, it's the healthiest bread there is. But if it's the soft, American kind it's not much better than other types of bread.
  • Yep, happens all the time to me. On normal weeks I exercise a lot - both biking and running, but if I take a break for some reason, I always lose 1-3 pounds. When I go back to my routine, the scale is up again. I've gotten used to it over the last few years, so I don't think about it, and I only record my "exercise weight".
  • Congratulations on losing inches! You're getting smaller, and that's what you want, right? Forget the scale.
  • I bought some cheap vivo barefoot shoes on Amazon, just to see if barefoot running worked for me before investing in some expensive vibrams, but I won't be replacing them until they're completely worn down - love them!
  • Is it bad that my first thought was whether it is anatomically correct?
  • Thank you!!!! I'm so sick of hearing everybody go on and on about "serving sizes" and how difficult it makes it to eat homemade food. Earlier this week there was an extremely long thread about ridiculous serving sizes (like your example of 1/3 individual yoghurt) but not one person questioned the basic concept.
  • What did you put in it?
  • Doesn't sound familiar, but thanks :)
  • What's "hot dish"? Never heard of it.
  • And here I thought Scandinavia was viking country. Never knew they actually came from Minnesota...
  • There's nothing called the viking diet, and it's not a diet in the weightloss dieting meaning of the word diet (hope that sort of made sense). It started as a revolution against the idea that all finer foods were inspired by the French cuisine, and there were some innovative chefs like Claus Meyer and Rene Redzepi that…
  • I never run on consecutive days because it can increase the risk of injury. It's important to allow your body to rest. I know some people run every day, and maybe that works for them, but it's definitely not for me. I bike every day with no problems at all, but I can't run more than 3-4 times per week without getting sore…
  • Does it even make sense to make about mileage on a stationary bike? When you're on a real bike the mileage depends on so many factors, that are probably not accounted for on a stationary bike, like air resistance, gear, wheel diameter, weight of the bike and yourself, etc. I think it's difficult to compare a stationary…
  • Why would you want to overcome it? Carbs are awesome! My diet is mostly carb based, and I haven't had any problems losing weight. Try to limit simple carbs such as sugar and white bread, and you'll be fine :)
  • I think it's just supposed to taste like that. I mean, it's mostly uncooked oats, so it's going to taste like uncooked oats. Personally, I love it, but I'm Danish, and we usually eat our oats raw with cold milk. If you can't get used to the taste but don't want to waste the entire bag, you can make some oatmeal with…
  • I bike 25 km every single day - 12.5 in the morning and 12.5 in the afternoon, and the afternoon ride makes me really hungry! I start each morning with a HUGE bowl of oatmeal, so I'm good until lunch. I started bringing a big lunch and eat around half of it at lunch time and then the rest about half an hour before my…
  • You look great! Did I understand it correctly that you want to lose another 40 pounds while looking like you do on the picture to the right? I don't know your weight and height, but you look like you're at a perfect weight for your height, and you would be seriously underweight if you lost 40 pounds or even less. I hope I…
  • I've noticed that I can feel really crappy after eating very fatty foods, which I've never had a problem with before. I think my body is no longer used to large amounts of fat at the same time and reacts poorly to it. I doubt it's lactose intolerance that's making you miserable. You say you usually eat greek yoghurt every…
  • That sounds like a great idea. I don't worry too much about my daily goals, but look at the week as a whole. It works well for me.
  • Totally agree with this! It's a great accomplishment.
  • THIS!!! I miss living by the woods, but I'm glad to have a very hilly and forest-like city park close by. Yes, it can be cold and dark and hard to get out the door, but once you're out in the fresh air and really get going - WOW! I'm addicted!
  • Try doing a search on glycemic index. It's a measure of how the carbs affect your blood sugar concentration, and the picture is not as black and white as good carbs/bad carbs.

  • Love it! But did you remember to get toilet paper or did you just buy the bacon? The suspense is killing me!
  • Try searching the Success Stories boards. I know there's a lot of 30DS results on there, and I think I've seen some 6 week 6 pack results as well.
  • Enjoy the fresh air and let it clear my head!
