At least you catch yourself. I somehow convince myself I am doing well, but I eat a treat (girl scout cookies, reeses pieces, chocolate, etc.) everyday and I wonder how I have been on here a year and lost 0 lbs... lol

Isn't everyone's ring finger longer than their pointer?

I like it.

Congrats on your loose underdrawers! What an accomplishment!

LOL! I should think so!

Okay, I definitely can't beat either of those! I've only gone 4 times, but it's because I have to ask "permission" in order to leave my desk. (I'm a receptionist and personal assistant.) But I've had 8 "glasses" of water!

In my opinion, start with the exercise before going through with any surgery. My boss has an inactive thyroid and was about 50 lbs. overweight. Her doctor put her on thyroid meds. and she started eating right and working out 4 days a week. In about a year she lost all the weight. She looks amazing. She's 40. If you are…

I used to buy the fake stuff, but all the ingredients I couldn't pronounce turned me off of it. I buy organic, unsalted butter and use less. I can't imagine the half teaspoon I use on my corn-on-the-cob twice a week is really hurting me.

I have a simple Weight Watchers scale that I bought at Costco about 3 years ago. It seems to be accurate, but I don't weigh myself anywhere but home. All it does is weigh, it doesn't do anything fancy. I think it was around $30.

Just do a basic calculation: one cup fresh green beans = approx. 30 cal. one med. (2.25" - 3.25" dia.) red skin potato = approx. 154 cal. one cup chopped yellow onion = 115 cal. one tbsp. olive oil = approx. 120 cal. Determine about how much of each you used, add them all up, and divide the total calories by the amount you…

I am the queen of making excuses - It really pisses my fiance off. I've been "trying" to lose 20 lbs. for about 6 months now. I generally eat well, but then a co-worker had a birthday and I (literally) just devoured a slice of Black Forest Cake with real whipped cream... Mmmm. Whoops.

I live in St. Louis, where it's been pushing 100 degree for the past two weeks. The heat and humidity have definitely affected my energy level.

Ha! This sounds like me. I ***** and moan that I am not losing any weight, but then I had a donut this morning when I was offered one. And a bagel last week when somebody brought them in. And the occasional piece of candy. And I haven't exercised in like a month, because we don't have central A/C and the unit is in the…

Quinoa flakes are are super easy, like oatmeal, but they have a different taste. I use organic 1% milk and I like to add a few pecan halves, a tsp. of raw honey, and a half cup of blueberries or strawberries. Yum!

I make a quick sauce out of Hunt's Tomato Sauce and Hunt's Diced Tomatoes. If we want it thicker, I add a can of Hunt's Tomato Paste. All three are available in a Low Sodium option and they also come in flavors to save you some extra work.

Good for you!

Excellent, thanks.

Can I ask why you use Canola Oil? Is it better for you than EVO or EVOO?
-
Try it on those GG Bran Crispbread crackers, too. It'll fit you up and it's yummy!

I wish this was my problem. I always go over my calories... Damn being short! :grumble:

Good luck!

Mmm... I just took a Reese's from the communal jar. yum. I agree with Shelley, or if nothing else, just overestimate the calories.

Hi! I just started getting serious about my weight loss goals Monday, so I am new too! I only have about 20 lbs. to lose which seems to make it harder to get started for some reason. Definitely use the food journal, you'll be amazed at how many extra calories you eat without realizing! Good luck!
-
I haven't tried it, but it sounds nasty. Good luck!

Okay, I just ordered mine today, so I should be about a week behind you guys. From what everyone is saying, I guess I should go buy some 3 lb. weights, all I have is 5. What else do I need before it gets here? A mat, a ball, and weights? Is that it?
-
Ha! I just saw the link for this diet on the AOL homepage. How funny! I guess that's why you brought up, right?
-
I should try the beer and egg diet. Yum! I think (maybe) if you do something like this and you really do lose all the weight, then it is easier to maintain than weight. I totally agree that "diets" are generally difficult to stick with in the long run and you need a lifestyle change. But maybe the rapid weight loss boosts…

Estelle, That's the problem I have. Lose, then gain, lose, then gain. Grrr... I do know that there is no possible way I can stick to 1200 calories a day, so I guess I will just have to get my butt moving and earn some bonus calories.

I ordered it from Amazon! Hope it keeps me motivated. I get bored so easy. Actually, I'm just lazy as hell. I would much rather lay around with my dogs and read a book than exercise. We live on a busy two lane street with no sidewalk or lightposts, so I can't walk them in the evenings.
