I tried it once and it tasted like pure chemicals to me. I agree with crazyjerseygirl.

I do the same thing, including the socks.

I can definitely relate to this discussion. I lost 34 lbs, came within 2 lbs. of my ultimate goal last year, and then started slowly going off the rails. I had many different excuses, too busy with work to exercise, travel, sick friends, etc., but it all added up to a 4 lb. weight gain that I can't seem to shake. I am…

I am in the same boat. I suffered a compression fracture in my thoracic spine 4 weeks ago, and have been having severe muscle spasms in my lower back. Can anyone point me to some gentle stretching exercises? I don't want to walk, because I am terrified of having another fall. I will check out the videos mentioned above.…

Me too....

No need to be scared of JM. I do her workouts all the time. My advice -- get yourself a HRM and wear it. Ignore what she says about not stopping. I stop whenever my heart rate gets too high. Get yourself 3-4 DVDs and alternate them. That way you won't get bored. Some are longer than others. I started with 30 Day Shred,…

Hi, I have a weakness for sugar too, especially chocolate. The way I deal with it is by allowing myself to have it, but in measured doses. For example, after lunch every day, I have 1 dark chocolate covered almond. I work with my husband, and he keeps them in his office and gives me one after lunch every day. In the…

I am heading to a party tonight. My plan is to drink wine spritzers. In terms of food, I plan to stick to lean protein and vegetables, and avoid high fat foods such as cheese and creamed based dips. I will allow myself one sweet. We'll see how that goes....

I am 58 (59 in Jan) and I have lost 32 lbs. since 10/11. I am 5'6" and have weighed about 141 since last March. I lost the weight slowly, so I do not have any lose skin. I feel much younger than my actual age. Exercise is the key. I would love to lose a few more pounds, but I am pretty happy being a size 8. Best of luck…

Don't worry. I gained 3 lbs. when I started the 30 Day Shred. It is water retention from your sore muscles. It will pass in a bit. Hang in there and drink lots of fluid. You will love what the Shred does for your butt, abs and legs.

I drive a 2012 Subaru Imprezza hatchback. I love it! It is sporty, fun to drive and gets 36 mpg.

If you lose weight, and it doesn't come back in about a week, then it is probably real weight loss. If it comes back in a couple of days, it may mean that you just adjusted your sodium, and lost some water that you were retaining. You can't tell day to day. You have to look at it over the week, or better yet, a month.

I would recommend Jillian Michaels also. I have the 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30 and Shred it With Weights. I enjoy all of them. And they each have 3-4 different levels, so you can do whatever you feel like and never get bored. You can buy them for about $10 on Amazon.

Congratulations! It is good to know that sometimes that plateau will shatter on its own. I've been on a plateau since 3/12 and can't seem to lose those last 2-3 lbs. I am older and taller than you. I am 5'6" and currently weigh 140 lbs. I have tried everything, including adding weights to my routine. My goal is 1400…

I resisted having a pitty party. Long story....

What a great story! Congratulations on getting your life back!

Sounds yummy! I am going to try this. Thanks!

I aim to eat 400 calories each for breakfast and lunch. My daily goal, excluding exercise calories is 1,400, so that leaves 600 calories plus whatever I burned through exercise for dinner and evening snack. I try to limit my evening snack to 150 calories. Works well for me.

What a difference! And you are making such an improvement in your overall health! Keep up the good work, you will achieve your goal.

My hubby and I are foodies, and cook a real home-cooked dinner from scratch every night. Most of our recipes come from Cooking Light, which makes it very easy to log, since many of their recipes are in the MFP database. I would love to have more foodie friends. Feel free to add me, but please send a brief note saying that…

You are doing great! Your smile looks like a sunflower!

I admire your bravery. I would really like to do this, but my 40th high school reunion is in 2 weeks, and I think I will require libation in order to survive it. Otherwise, I would definitely join.

Absolutely! As long as you aren't an air traffic controller....

So I am most like someone from Gambia. I have a lower BMI than 88% of women my age, and 67% of women my age globally. If especially liked this part "If everyone in the world had the same BMI as me, it would remove 13,596,795 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population." The world would be a much lighter place...

I love this thought. I always thought skinny jeans were for young, slim women. I am toying with the idea of trying some on, but I don't want to look foolish. I am 58 years old, have a tiny butt, according to my hubby, and slender thighs and calves. My legs are my best feature. What do you think? Or am I crazy to even…

Yes, as long as you stay within your daily calorie goal, limit your drinking to weekends, and avoid high calorie mixed drinks. I lost 35 lbs. by limiting my alcohol consumption to wine on weekends, and occasionally drinking during the week if there was a special event. Try wine spritzers - they are refreshing and low cal.

Makes sense. Thanks for posting.

^^^^This. It also keeps me honest. If I only record the results I like, pretty soon I will only be recording the good food I eat. Pretty soon, my entire journal becomes a fantasy....
