Agree with the post above. I had the same issue with running and Jillian Michaels' videos. Loved both, but had chronic knee pain. I switched to kickboxing (TaeBo DVDs at home), and weightlifting (also at home). I have no pain whatsoever now and have seen a change in my body composition. I also have extremely flat feet that…

Congratulation! What an incredible and inspiring journey. Thank you for sharing it and continued success!

You Are Your Own Gym. Great app, with customizable workouts. ETA: He trains military and law enforcement personnel.

Just thought of another one: You Are Your Own Gym has a great app. You can enter the amount of time that you have (as short as 2 minutes), and it will create a strength training workout for you that is timed and uses video demonstration, making it easy to follow. No equipment needed, just your own bodyweight. Also, you may…

Hi. My daughter has multiple disabilities. I was a single mom for about 15 years (she's now 26) and found that working out first thing in the morning, before she woke up worked best for me. I just did DVD workouts in the living room. There are tons of great workout videos that can be accessed for free on YouTube, and…

I agree with acpgee - stretching does wonders. I developed PF a few years ago when running. It took almost a full year to go away (walking is how I commute to work). I eventually stopped running due to repeated injuries. I now do kickboxing and lift. If I don't stretch several times a week, the PF starts to come right back.

I too love Jillian's workouts, but had knee and neck pain when doing them. I switched to kickboxing (and lifting weights), and love it!! For kickboxing I use TaeBo PT 24/7. It's a 6-week program with 7 different videos and comes with resistance bands.

You may need to look into more than one pair. Something light and flexible for kickboxing, Zumba and lifting. I got these for kickboxing: Nike Lunar Hyperworkout XT+ and they're great! I used a crosstrainer when I started (I have horribly flat feet!), but found that I was hurting my knees. They just weren't flexible…

I use a Medjool date in my banana protein smoothies. Works great!

Thanks for posting! I use the same Powerblock dumbbells that are used in one of the leg workouts and had been looking for a video that showed proper form. Perfect!!

As several folks have already mentioned, check out You Are Your Own Gym. He has a great app that allows you to pick your fitness level and choose the amount of time you have to workout. Once you enter that info, a timed workout starts (including rest periods). You can also create and save your favorite workouts. Good luck!

Try adding good fats. Like the previous poster said: olive oil, avocado, peanut butter, etc.

I think it depends on the person. I did the full 6-weeks along with walking to work everyday. Once the 6 weeks were over, I would rotate between 6 week 6 pack and her kickboxing one. I enjoyed them both! The one bonus I wasn't expecting during the original 6 week run was how lean my arms got. There are so many different…

Try blogilates.com. Lots of free pilates workouts.

Haven't tried them yet, but they sound good: Fat Free Potato Chip Recipe - http://lowfatveganchef.com/fat-free-potato-chip-recipe/.

I haven't tried it myself, but folks rave about pilates. I've done a few of the workouts from blogilates.com. Killer!!

Just voted. Best of luck!

Try You Are Your Own Gym (YAYOG). Build strength &muscle using your own body weight, no equipment needed. He has a great app.

I use half a banana (love them, too!), vanilla protein powder and a cup of almond milk. 180 calories. I recently bought some PB2 (powdered peanut butter with the fat removed: 45 calories for 2 tbl), and add that. It tastes great in the smoothie-not sure if I'd use it as actual peanut butter, though! Most days I also add…

Looks great! Thanks!

Here's a helpful chart with suggestions for what to use depending on what you're baking: http://www.veganbakingsecrets.com/?p=240.

Kickboxing worked wonders for me! And it's a great stress-buster!

Thanks for this! Will try it this weekend!

Yep! It'll keep it from browning, at least for several hours. This was in response to the poster who asked about leaving the pit in to keep it from browning!

Forgot to mention that there are so many great vegan recipes out there. You may be surprised to find that it's not too hard a transition on the kids. Check out sites such as: theppk.com; vegweb; ohsheglows, etc. At home, I'm vegan, my husband is vegetarian, and our daughter is neither. She happily eats what I cook, and…

There's also a group for vegetarians and vegans here. You'll find lots of support and advice: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/45-happy-herbivores. Good luck!

If you haven't already, you might want to look into working with a personal trainer. It doesn't have to be long-term, just enough to teach you proper form and how to prevent injury. I too loved running, but running didn't love me. I have severe over pronation which impacts my feet, ankles, knees, hips, etc. After repeated…

I've been vegan for 3 years now; vegetarian for about 5 years before that. Ditto what everyone else has said regarding the need to really be conscious of what you're eating so that you achieve a healthy balance. It's totally do-able!! As far as losing weight - going vegetarian then vegan didn't help me with that. In fact,…

If you can afford it, a dog walker may be the answer. My dog, a chihuahua mix, didn't have anxiety issues, but it was obvious that he needed more exercise than the three walks/day we were giving him. He goes out with a dog walker 4x/week now and is so much happier. We pay for one hour/day, but he is often out anywhere for…
