-To fit into the "free size" adorable Indian pants my friend bought for me. -To consistently, comfortably, button the top button of my button-fly jeans :blushing: -To get my 5k time under 30 minutes.

drinking lots of warm or hot water help me. Plus relaxed walking. If it were me, I'd chalk it up to PMS and figure it would pass ( he he ) with a change of the moon, so to speak.

I also notice that when I work out every other day, I'm much hungrier on my off days than the days I actually exercise. I second the notion that it's OK to go over on your off days with a satisfying breakfast and under on your work out days by the same amount. I think that's better than stuffing yourself after a workout…

it could be that while you're eating the right foods, you're eating too much (that's my problem, usually) or that you're not eating enough and your body is fighting to keep weight on.
-
I do think there are problems (health and otherwise, but I'll address only health) with eating too much protein, and what most people think a "good" amount is more than is actually the recommended mean. Besides things like Ketosis and "Rabbit Starvation" from WAY too much protein and not enough carbs, be aware that animal…

wow, you are a machine!

"knowing is half the battle"! (I'll feel old if you don't get the reference)

I second the notion of eating almost all of them for a while to see what happens. If you loose weight that way, eat them all. If you still loose weight, eat more until you've worked out what the right amount of calories feels like in your body.
-
so does that mean that fit people with strong hearts burn fewer calories during the day (going against the notion that exercise boosts your metabolism ) or that each pump of the heart for fit people equates to more calories than for a less fit person, meaning that even a heart rate monitor will give inaccurate results for…
-
So, I have a confusion... If it's true what "they" say that regular exercise boosts metabolism, AND it's true that heart rate is directly related to calories burned, then how is it that athletes have lower resting heart rates than sedentary people?

:flowerforyou: Here's to being the best you can be! I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by people who know how important (and smart) it is for me personally to loose weight now and generally keep their mouths shut about it. Sending some of supportive energy your way

I've been as much as 35 lb heavier than I am now and I can tell you that there's not much difference between my attitude about my body then and now. I can also tell you that there is a huge difference between my attitude about my body when I was 15 (wait, no, 12!) lb slimmer and now. When you get closer to your "right"…

I've heard that the iron added to boxed cereals isn't usable by your body. Tofu and spinach is a really iron-full meal. I just mash a block of tofu, warm some garlic in a pan, add the tofu, a bag of frozen spinach and some salt or a bullion cube and hey presto, it's a meal :)

I know people who eat just fruit all the time. I think they worked "up" to it gradually, and personally, I think it's of dubious healthiness, but I think "as long as you can stand it" is the answer to your question. However, I have to point out that it seems, from my observation, that any weight you loose doing something…

You all look great! The most amazing thing is the change in attitude about having your picture taken!

Thank you! I've actually seen that page before, but for whatever reason, google wasn't coming up with it.

I don't think this is true at all. I agree with PP that children who are bullied should stand up or themselves, and that things like "bouncing his head off a desk" "shoving him into a locker" or a "roundhouse kick" are such incredibly bad ideas I can't believe grown people are talking about them in a positive way. Standing…

Honestly, I think any culture that values _cuisine_ and therefore the enjoyment of good food will be healthier, particularly if they're not a car culture like in the US. I don't think it has as much to do with what they're eating as how much, and I think they eat less because they don't eat crap; in other words, they don't…

Here's my opinion, you can take it or leave it: eat the cranberry sauce on the days you look forward to it. I never believe anything that says that a certain food should be avoided entirely. hogwash. just don't eat the whole can! I love the slippery, can-shapped, sugary badness, too, especially with salty, creamy, mashed…

Good job taking care of yourself. :flowerforyou:

Yay! what a great mama you are! :flowerforyou:

I think I just sent you a PM, if you didn't get it, let me know, I'll try again :flowerforyou:

I would set it for no more than 1 lb per week. Personally, too, I've found that though the numbers may look scary, if I eat a good wholesome breakfast that fills me up, it's easier to have willpower for the rest of the day, even back when I used to try to loose weight quickly. You can always work out in the afternoon to…

Yay! :flowerforyou: I'm trying to get back down to my Australia weight :) US air must be fattening
