  • QFT One of my longest-standing friendships is with a guy. He's listened to me through a failed marriage and a minor mental breakdown after. He's like a brother to me. Does my SO care? Nope. Has he ever met him? Nope. Does he trust me implicitly AND know who I love and am committed to? Yup.
  • I....I.....I can't stop looking.....
  • Great goals!! I think I know what I need to do tonight....make my own!
  • You nicely gave your opinion that you thought it was a bad idea. You pushed it when you said "float in a cloud of ignorance." OP has lost 25 pounds. She has 31 to go from when she set the current ticker. She knows what she's doing. I guess, though, since you needed an explanation of how one listens to meditation, I should…
  • Did you miss the part where her scale is doing nothing? If she is losing fat mass and increasing lean body mass, that scale won't do anything but frustrate here whereas smaller clothes and measurements will give her the rewards of her efforts. She's not being ignorant -- she's simply using a different method than the…
  • Lovely goals!!! You got this!!
  • You misquoted me. Nowhere did I say she was evil. I said she was not as responsible as she should have been. Having grown up visiting wildlife parks where things like buffalo and bears roam free and living in an area where cougars leave footprints in my backyard -- If there is a fence and a barrier and signs saying DANGER…
  • Agreed. So now it's back to personal responsibility -- and we know how well that's gonna turn out....:ohwell:
  • My initial reaction: I like Harry Potter and I cannot lie...Potter and I cannot lie.... Great earworm! :-)
  • As I said earlier, I'm against. Even after reading through this thread again. Here's why: I'm from South Dakota. I grew up near Custer State Park, home to a very LARGE buffalo herd. EVERYWHERE are signs saying "Buffalo are dangerous. Do not approach." You cannot enter the Park without driving past these signs and they are…
  • Totally against -- parents need to be responsible. This parent was not as responsible as she should have been.
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one........
  • Sticks are in the middle.....
  • Uff da...got the image...how to resize I'll have to learn another day....
  • What worked for me long-term was a good pair of Dr. Scholl's shoes with excellent arch support and the rocker sole. Taped the foot during the day and work what was actually an ankle brace but it kept the foot open overnight. And resting the foot, of course. Good luck!
  • Bumping to put in my top topics...love LS & WATP!!
  • @Samiamm6603--It's all proper -- I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who has been in the industry since 1979! (I was 5....as I love to remind him--but he started as a teen.) Have a great time on the century ride! That's one of my goals!! @redhead1910--I took a spinning class twice...you are a brave woman!!
  • Kelly Clarkson: Stonger Christina Aguilera: Fighter Zac Brown Band: Devil Went Down to Georgia P!nk: You and Your Hand; I'm Still a Rock Star (not sure on exact title); quite a few that I bought right about the time I was getting a divorce...ha! Bon Jovi: It's My Life (live version) Hmm. A lot of Bon Jovi, actually. I'd…
  • I think this line right here is what people are frustrated with. IMO, it sounds like a line from an infomercial. And it is very much so a blanket statement. You are saying "this is what WILL happen"...not "this is something within the realm of possibility." You had no intent to harm -- it's all in the phrasing.
  • Funny. I've been drinking Diet Coke since I was 15 (I'm 39 next week) and Diet Dr. Pepper since it came out. Only in the last few months have I seriously cut back from the 64-96 ounces of diet whichever a day to about 24 ounces a day and only water at work (and I get 64 ounces of water in that way). I didn't gain weight…
  • I've no experience with it -- I just went to their website and checked it out. $339 a month??? :noway: :noway: :noway: My boyfriend and I eat very well on around $150 a month...I would never be able to afford their food plus buy him separate groceries. From a financial point, it would be highly unprobably I would be able…
  • My boyfriend hasn't owned a car in nearly 25 years. He's biked EVERYWHERE. He does come home frustrated at the "must be in all the places" people and the idiots talking/texting but for the most part he enjoys it. He was only in one accident involving a pickup and that was a pretty serious one but his protective gear did…
  • Someone posted this super nommy recipe awhile back that's become my go-to: 3 bananas 1/2 c chocolate chips 2 c oats (not the prepackaged kind) 1 Tbsp brown sugar I ended up putting mine in a 8-1/2x6 casserole and I bake it 20-25 minutes at 350. Comes out to about 198 calories a bar when cut into 8 bars.
  • Most celiacs are also lactose intolerant. Celiac sprue runs in my family (and I am hoping nothing triggers it for me!!) and about 1/2 are also lactose intolerant. The two seem to run hand in hand.
  • I changed my last name when I got married to a last name I hated. I changed it back almost before the divorce was final. My last name is part of ME and should I remarry, it will not get changed again. I don't care to wear jewelry. I wore the rings because he wanted me to. But they came off anytime I was working outside, in…
  • That I'm not doing it for the numbers....I'm doing it for me! Yesterday was the first time in a few months I'd been on my bicycle and I intended to just take a leisurely ride. But because I'd started up at the gym a couple weeks prior and had ridden often last year -- my leisurely ride yesterday was still faster than my…
  • I weigh 298 pounds. My advice? Get thee to a pro bike shop. They are professionals and they will fit you properly. I am on a 2-year-old Trek that I love. If you're not comfortable at one, go to another one. A bike is WELL worth the investment (MyHoney puts 12,000 miles a year on his!) and a good shop offers at least 1 free…
  • He is 10. He shouldn't be having to worry about how many proteins/carbs/etc. he's getting. He should be focusing on being a kid. Talk to him about why he quit baseball - find a way to communicate what he wants to do vs what he thinks you want him to do (which is oh so hard---as a single mom, my son felt most comfortable…
  • What a wonderfully sweet NSV!!! Please excuse me...something seems to have gotten in my eye....
