  • Hiya :) I think 50lbs is definitely doable. I lost my first 50 in less than a year. I was eating 1360-1520 calories a day, depending on exercise, and only ate back half of my exercise cals. I lost the most at the beginning of my weight loss journey, which is pretty typical. Tons of Jillian Michaels DVDs, elliptical…
  • I agree with everyone else! Just because they'll be drinking or eating junk doesn't mean you have to be. Stick to a vodka soda, or something low calorie if you want to drink alcohol, and if you know where you're going to eat then see if the restaurant has any nutritional info ahead of time. I go out at least three times a…
  • I've been consistently logging for about a year here on MFP, but tend to lose hoards of friends during the fall/winter semesters. I was seeing good losses on the scale and in measurements up until about November. I managed to lose 10-15lbs (44lbs total) during school, but I'm planning to really get back into the swing of…
  • If I ever forget my lunch, I try to google my best options in the surrounding area. Turkey sandwich on rye or whole wheat piled with veggies and w/o cheese, salads with added protein at restaurants who don't look at you funny when you ask for dressing on the side ;), or if I'm lucky a grocery store that can provide me with…
  • 4'11, 169lbs (from 208lbs), I'm in-between a 9/11. The 11s are a bit baggy but the 9s are too tight. I was a 15 in July. 30 in jeans (from a 34/35).
  • Hi all :) I'm 24 and I go to school full-time, working towards a degree in Anthropology. I'm the President of our anthro students' association, and a research assistant. Up until this semester I also did 220 hours of TA work (grading, invigilating exams etc.) per semester. I'm a really short girl, so all of the weight I've…
  • What I wouldn't give for a Martin. I dabble with the acoustic and own a Norman B.. something? I'd love to get something a bit smaller though, as my baby hands don't stretch quiiite enough :P. My favourite song to play is probably Landslide, or anything Stevie. I post covers on YouTube under the username 'xloveisnot'. Ahh,…
  • I suppose for me it has to do with the mindset I had when I went into this. I have always loved my body. Sure, there have been days where a top doesn't fit the way I want it, or I look in the mirror and see a lump I don't like... But those are just days; one here, one there. 37lbs of fat gone, and I am just loving my body…
  • Online dating has opened me up to a whole new world of losers. One guy stalked me, well, for a few months before I ever noticed, and a few more months after I had noticed. Eventually he found a girl that could tolerate him, so I haven't seen him around lately. My newly acquired stalker seems relatively harmless, save for…
  • Portion control and looking at nutrition information. I was weighing my food religiously when I started, and it's crazy, realizing how much you were eating before. I was never a huge pop or juice drinker, but drinking my calories is something I'll never do now. Give me some food and water or a cup of green tea and I'm set.
  • Well. The answer to this is pretty obvious, but I'm going to chime in anyway. When I started counting calories in July I was getting in a lot of cardio and strength training, and I continued the trend until I went back to school in September. I lost 22lbs from July 3 - August 31. Now that I'm back in school, the weight…
  • Definitely excited for Les Mis! I'm also looking forward to The Snowtown Murders and Compliance!
  • The weirdest spots. My love handles, calves, and face all seem to show signs of weight loss first... But I've also lost nearly one shoe size. I wish my butt and thighs would lose quicker. Hah. Who doesn't?
  • I'm 4'11. On July 3, 2012 my SW was 208. CW: 183 GW: 125-130.
  • Do I have to choose? Spaghetti with my mom's homemade meat sauce, smothered in asiago cheese and served with a big hunk of garlic bread. Orrrrrr Pan-fried perogies with onions sauteed in butter, topped with ranch dressing... With a cabbage roll.
  • - If they haven't logged in for 3-4 weeks. - If they constantly update their status with the same things day after day - If they are intermittently inactive; a week here, a week there. - If they do not communicate AT ALL.
  • I've got a pair of size 10, perfectly tailored dark wash jeans that I can't wait to wear again. I haven't even been able to pull them up passed my knees for 3 years. I tried them last night, and I'm sooo close! Just need to lose a bit more tummy and they'll button (tightly, hahah).
  • I make Pizza Tilapia. I lay the tilapia on a tin-foil lined pan, then put 1-2 tbsp of salsa on top of it, add any veggies I want and a tiiiny sprinkle of skim mozza, then bake it at 350F for 15 minutes :) It rarely falls apart and tastes amaaazing.
  • I'm really hoping for an Ian takeover, even though Dan was incredibly brilliant. I like to root for those underdogs. ---- And in dreamland, I'm hoping the remaining Quack Pack-ers can swing the votes.
  • Goooooood GOD. Do you have the live feeds? This week has been a gong show. I can't even. I was under the impression that Dan was going to have a lacklustre season. Not anymore.

  • No one's mentioned Say Anything? Welp, that's my pick. At least for the 16 y.o's.
  • This! And if I want less of a Greek yogurt taste and I still want moist tuna, I'll chop up some cucumber, onion and tomato and add those :) I also don't usually use bread, but I'll spread it on some Wasa instead. Silver Hills Little Big Bread is also really great, and 110 cals for 2 slices.
  • Elliptical, hands down! 400-500 calories per 40-60 minutes. If I use my iPod playlist appropriately, I do timed intervals. High intensity v. low intensity.
  • Only 3? Uggghh. 1. The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood 2. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte 3. The Thirteenth Tale - Diane Setterfield (... The Birth House by Ami McKay, The History of Love by Nicole Krauss, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant) I love books.
