  • When you say you've tried this in the past and end up making 2 different meals, (adult and kids) what exactly does that mean? Healthy for the adults and allowing the kids to eat whatever they want?? I have 3 grown daughters and 7 grand kids, so I have some experience. The kids were always told you can have the "snack"…

  • I recommend using VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) You can find a place anywhere in the world pretty much in your price range. We have used them many times and have never been disappointed. It is also where we advertise our place in Mexico and it reaps excellent results with getting tenants booked. Love VRBO! www.vrbo.com
  • I HATE the winter too... mostly I find I want to sleep.. to just get through it, but since I took off the weight last year, hit my goal in November, I am still actively working out. The best thing you can do is continue to use this site, watch your calories, keep up the workouts and maybe if you can... book a vacation…
  • It looks good!
  • I put a POST IT written in red marker on my computer with a truthful statement. "I want to be thin, I feel BETTER when I am thin" and I truly do. Pulling the reins in at meal time is hard. It's a shame our bellies don't register as "full" quicker then they do. Eat a portion that is working with your calorie intake using…
  • I like the FIBER ONE 80 calorie honey squares. I eat 2 1/2 cups of it, (one full cereal bowl) and it helps to keep me full for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
  • I tend to procrastinate to get to my workout, but once I do, I always feel better. I don't know if it's endorphins or if I just feel overall accomplished, but I always feel better after a workout. Push yourself into it, in a few months, you wont have to push so hard. It'll become a way of life for you and you'll be mad…
  • I peel and freeze ripe bananas. Every day at lunch (tonight) for dinner, I make one slimfast like this: I put 2 cups of SKIM milk, one frozen banana and one scoop of chocolate powder into a blender Eat one tablespoon of peanut butter with it and whallah.. yummy, yummy, yummy. Sometimes, to cut calories, I only use one cup…
  • You have the right idea, diet + exercise + willpower. That's it. Then you get results.
  • Lack of eating when you are sick is not going to kill you. Your body will adjust when you feel better. Eat what you feel you can eat while ill and don't eat if you don't have an appetite.
  • Hi, Tips for success? Well, this is more then tips, it is how I did what I did and how I did it in the past. Losing the weight was never my problem, it was always maintaining it.. but with this site, I am going to master that. I think you should eat at least 1600 or 1700 but here is what I did. It's kind of long.. hope I…
  • My daughter (age 29) was diagnosed with breast cancer in early October of this year. Dec 11, she had a double mastectomy. Now she has begun Chemo and is struggling with the fact that she knows she will lose her hair and has 3 more chemo treatments to endure. I am not a survivor, but I want to believe my daughter will be.
  • Maple Grove Farms of Vermont "Sugar Free" dressings. (Red Shrink Wrap) on the cap. They are good, and super low in calorie. 5 calories per 2 tsp or it might be table spoon, but it makes no difference, it's the lowest cal dressing I have ever found and it is actually really good.
  • I was skeptical at first, but I looked it over and I agree.. with all of the points made.
  • I felt just like that the first time I was able to run the full circuit at our park! And like Rocky, I was alone so there was no-one to high five! So what did I do? What Rocky did! Threw my arms up in the air and hummed the tune to myself!
  • I record water as water. Not tea, not any other drinks, just plain clear water. It's recommended to drink 64 oz of water.. not tea, not coffee, not diet sodas.. water. Get it?
  • 1200 calories is just plain stupid. I upped my calories and lost weight. Prior to joining MFP, I was dieting for 5 months and I had lost 38 lbs doing it my own way. My own way? That was eating about 16-1800 calories and making sure I did some form of exercise for at least (the bottom least) a half hour. I averaged about 2…
  • That is a NSV.. congrats!
  • Diet + Exercise + Willpower = Success. It has nothing to do with Soda.
  • Throw that into a blender with 3/4 cup of milk and a yogurt, any kind and it's even better!
  • What a nice NSV. Congrats to you!
  • If the profile pic of you is true, it's not a "I have to lose weight" issue. You joined a gym with what intent? To get stronger? Cause if you did it for that reason and you don't utilize it, you are just wasting your money, but hey, it's your money to waste right? And in the same mind set, it's your body to waste... Make…
  • You didn't do it the HARD way, you did it the RIGHT way! Congrats to you and your health!
  • Find the willpower. Leave the room, don't be home when that crap is getting delivered. Go try a bikini on.
  • Missing one component. Diet + Exercise + Willpower = Success.. that simple. No "Cheat days" that is just stupid.. who are you cheating? Good luck
  • Welcome, first off, if MFP put you at 1200 calories, the first thing you do is ignore that and eat at least 1400 calories. Stay committed, exercise, log truthfully and avoid FAD diets. Then you'll do great.

  • Drink some tea and what's with Saturday? Keep baiting your body and it'll keep sabotaging you. I can't believe how many people think they need a "cheat day" Who are you cheating?
  • Weight loss can be achieved with limited activity. First, you need to take some strain off your legs and knees. Do you best by watching calories and making correct healthy choices on the foods you eat for the calories you take in. This mostly means, don't eat "empty" calories. No sugar drinks, soda, etc. Learn to like…
