  • The answer to "how" to do it is the obvious, cut down on calories to lose the weight and replace all that stuff with better, low cal, low fat choices. It will work if you do it. You just have to decide what is MORE important, all the things you like to eat and drink, or losing the weight that you are not happy with.
  • The USA photo makes me embarrassed ... that is not a representation of ALL americans but sadly it does represent enough of them. Well, ok "us". Look close enough at that one and you can see the Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell Mexican Pizza and Nachos, KFC meal - you don't see the packaging for some of them but they are…
  • Their OWN website used to suggest "bringing a change of clothes with you to work". I cannot find that now (unless I just missed it... I'm not taking anything that requires I carry extra clothes with me because my *kitten* might spontaneoulsy squirt out undigested fat. Their website now states this: "Such effects may…
  • I wouldn't either. Why PLAN on such a gross overabundance? Treating oneself to an indulgant meal out is one thing. Specifically planned to go out and basically gain one pound on purpose? What for? There's plenty of ways to indulge on a meal without sabotaging progress. I don't get it. But if the goal is 5000... Ihop for…
  • I agree. For me it's easier, I do the buying and choosing of what comes in, but it was not always so easy. If you can walk past it in the store the times that you DO go shopping, then you can certainly walk past it when someone else brings it into the house. For me the easiest thing was to create my own list of what I was…
  • Stop that. You MUST put that burnt off energy back. You need extra food to fuel the extra work you're doing. As someone else said, too, it was hard for me to trust that, but once I started to eat more, the results started to come finally. You cannot be afraid to eat. Take me for example... my TDEE is around the range of…
  • Indeed. Once you get away from it long enough, it will definitely affect you if you put it back in. The Cup of Noodles wouldn't be something I would expect to do that though. The only thing I can think is that packaged stuff like that, especially those noodle and ramen cups are insanely high in sodium and chemicals, and…
  • if you walk briskly enough, you can very easily do 1 full mile in under 30 min (my average is 26-29 min). i measured this using my FitBit (it shows distance traveled). I walked at lunch when it was cold by traveling all the floors in my building end to end, up to the top floor and back down. It took me anywhere from 26 to…
  • I havent tried Zumba on DVD yet, but I have Zumba Fitness2 for my Wii and I like it a lot. Definitely a great workout!
  • I might try Hip Hop Abs, I've been considering trying that soon. I completed Rockin' Body in March and loved it, and it did help me a lot. I went on to do Jilliam Michaels 30 Day and still on that one, so I look forward to choosing a new one. I still incorporate some of the Rockin' Body routines even while doing JM, so I…
  • Let's do some perspective.... 7 days = 1 week 3 weeks = 21 days You've been doing this 25 days.... So in 3 weeks and 4 days you've lost 3 pounds, that is a totally NORMAL rate to lose. It doesn't happen overnight, you've heard that right? Well it doesn't happen over 2 or 3 or 25 nights either. You WILL get there. You're on…
  • Funny, the boobs was how I knew first that I had gained way too much and also how I knew I was starting to lose. Back in winter all of a sudden I had these really nice yabbos, which I NEVER have before, always always always been small on top. Suddenly I was busting out of all my normal bras. Well, of course once I changed…
  • I'm sure that is serious, and I agree with it. Forcing oneself to do something they aren't yet committed or ready to do is a good way to fail. For example people who force themselves to go on a "diet" or quit smoking because they "know they should" or "think they have to" are always the ones who blow it a few days in. You…
  • If we're talking about Pasta Zero (those are the ones I've tried )... They don't taste like anything (despite what they smell like when you cut the bag open! they will NOT taste like that I promise!) . I used them to curb any pasta w/ sauce craving I might get. The whole bag is only like 40 cal, so I can throw some lower…
  • That is your culprit more than anything. Birth control pills do NOT cause weight gain. Hormonal changes may... MAY... cause appetite changes but birth control pills themselves do not cause weight gain. Prednisone is a whole other story. Prednisone is proven to cause an "increased appetite" - that's what they call it - I…
  • Regarding being hungry - you might not be eating enough. 1300 might be too low a number for you. I was eating too low when I started and I was hungry constantly. I upped my daily goal just a bit and also added in some better foods and the constant hunger stopped. Also, if you're exercising, put at least some of those cals…
  • One of the very worst: I don’t even know full well what was in it (might be better that way) – but it was something my former mother in law made from time to time – She called it Bugs Bunny (I have NO idea why, and I certainly can’t find it online – you would expect that to be a carrot or vegetable dish – but alas no…)… it…
  • LOTS of different healthy lo cal snacks that I am addicted to! Lately: Light Rye Wasa or Sourdough Wasa (2 slices = 70 cal) with a Laughing Cow wedge divided in half (one half for each slice) Crisp & Light Wasa (3 slices = 70 cal) with a Laughing Cow wedge divided in thirds (1/3 for each piece) Egg Salad on Wasa! (use…
  • Huh? That's b.s. What about people with strict diet plans dictated medically or people with severe allergies that have to pretty much rely on making and eating their own food all the time. No one can force a person or should ever expect others to eat out of their comfort zone, and I've never seen anyone hold lunch choices…
  • First of all, let me just say I would never criticize anyone for eating ice cream for breakfast, or eating 600 calories worth of "junk" or whatever, so don't take it that way... BUT - I find it hilarious when people eat something "bad" and then call it a slip up. It's not a slip up. Own up and call it what it is, a choice.…
  • But... if YOU know how to spell the word, and you spell it correctly when you search for it, you should get results that match what you search, therefore, misspelled entries should not be much of a hinderance to you. And even if a misspelled item came up in the results of your correctly spelled search, then you were still…
  • I consider stuff like that to be normal TDEE so I don't log it either. I have the FitBit though, so I know how much extra activity I'm doing vs. more of a sedentary day, and the FitBit will adjust the MFP number anyway... though I don't use that an excuse to eat everything in sight. I do not do the water consumption log -…
  • As luck would have it, I have a coupon for GNC!!
  • ^^^Hilarious!!!!!!! [/quote] Wait... you mean my white virginal monkey extract smoothies are not going to help me lost 40 pounds by 8 pm? But they advertise it, so it must be true... ? :grumble:
  • The fact that you think you can lose a pound every day or every other day shows just how little you know about this process. It does not work like that. The fact that you're crying about it after ONLY 5 days shows your lack of knowlegde even more. The fact that you think you can eat less than 1000 calories, burn off 1000…
  • Those weight loss places don't want you to know how to do it yourself. That's when they stop getting your money. This is not hard to do AT ALL and it's free, and I am in control of what I buy and eat. Not only that, but I understand how to do things myself, I understand why i can or cannot do other things and I…
  • Agreed in full. No one I know who has done NS or Jenny Craig or any of these things has been able to keep it off either. The problem is you do not learn how to do it yourself and you don't get into the habit of doing it for yourself. You learn nothing about calories, BMR, and all the other wonderful numbers. You learn…
  • I try to order things that I can specifically enter components for. Example - the two times this year that I've gone to a Mexican Restaurant I have ordered steak tacos so that I can get as close as possible by entering each item. I don't just guestimate based on aother restaurant or by what MFP entries there are. I used…
  • Not me. Watching Man vs. Food is nothing but an APPETITE KILLER for me. It makes me SICK to see some of the gluttonous garbage these places sell and it makes me more sick to watch people eating all of that gut bomb slop. And watching Adam shovel that crap into his big old face has to be the topper on that. Watching shows…
  • I plan to look through this: http://www.thelaughingcow.com/all-recipes/ (their own list of recipes) I bet there is a lot of room for modification and addition to lower the calories or sub in different ingredients on some of these. Someone mentioned Cinnamon LCC and someone else mentioned Jalapeno LCC? I have seen neither…
