  • You are really making a difference. It is easy to see how your shoulders are more defined and you should be proud of all the hard work you have done so far. Good for you on keeping the determination going, you are not just loosing weight but adding years to your life with your new baby!
  • I am 48 with 3 kids, 17, 21 and 23. Back here on MFP because it worked great the 1st time, I just got lazy. Time to really set my mind to this and find some good supportive friends here on MFP. Anyone is welcome to add me also.
  • Thanks for the constructive tips so far! i like the rabbit food idea to start out. I will go with caution...not gonna blow my progress now by just giving in, that's what got me here in the first place. So plate 1 rabbit food, plate 2 one unbreaded meat choice and some steamed vegis, plate # 3 one tempting dessert and…
  • This just made my day I came across your story, love it!
  • Just take it one week at a time, each day make the choices that you believe are the best, sweat at least 3 x a week on exercise and don't sweat the small things, don't even get hung up on what the scale is telling you. Because I can weigh myself one day and I am up 4 pounds, the next I am down 2 pounds and the next up 3…
  • I take them to work at the Mall 4 x a week. It is a much better choice than food court selectionss full of fat. I pair them with fresh fruit, water with crystal light and a piece of string cheese for extra protien. I find they have helped me stay on track and not give in to the pizza, shakes and other choices I would have…
  • I am right there with you treadmill everyday if I miss a day I get complacent. But I do like to throw in some 30 day shred by Jillian michaels I bought the dvd at Target for under $15 and it is a nice change of pace and I have really seen a difference in my stomach area I have made 6" disappear doing that dvd. She really…
  • MMM crazy weather man predicts 70 degrees and sunny for Dec 20, 2011in St. Paul, MN. Just hoping......maybe this global warming stuff has all the seasons mixed up!
  • I ride it out because I can weigh myself every day and get a slightly different result, depending on sodium, tom, amount of effort in exercise, etc. I ride it out if it is a 2 pound fluctuation. Try checking late at night or first thing in the am. Mid day is not a good time to weigh in.
  • Never say never....ha ha but you should try the Johnsonville Turkey with Cheddar, only 120 calories per brat, yes there is about 700mg of sodium but you can find that amount in the average frozen microwave meal too. With that turkey brat, load up on 2-3 cups of fresh fruit for an under 300 calorie summer picnic meal. That…
  • Yes I hear you I am working 2 jobs and many nights have to eat on the run, so a frozen meal has to do, or a quick made at home sandwich:smile: . Today was a good day, I grilled some chicken, cut up some cantaloupe, fresh strawberries and seedless cucumbers, what a filling dinner! Lunch I do soups quite a bit this is a low…
  • I recommend you tape some masking tape markings for the heal and toe so that you step on it in the same spot each weigh in. Most scales can vary occasionally if you step closer to the edge it will give you a false reading. But I did buy a new digital scale and love it. My old one was weighing me at 5# more than the new…
  • Yes you probably will be sore tomorrow, you are using new muscles again! I was so for 3 days after my 1st day of Shred. Then I tried it again and again, by by 4 time I was not tired or sore anymore after and I even added in 20 min of treadmill to that workout. Go gradual and it will get easier I promise!
  • Yup I agree, down right frightening, they might like to blame Fast food, but I think all restaurant portions are out of wack, I wish they would cut the portions in 1/2 and lower the prices, best marketing technique they could do! Helps the budget helps the waistline and think of all the attention to our national obesity…
  • Good willpower, congrats keep it up!
  • Love your motivational article!
  • Price outrageous! But they are great for my am breakfast on the go in my car, similar to a granola bar but makes me feel like I am having a decadent muffin instead of something filled with fiber, they do a decent job at keeping me satisfied until lunch. Better than a 350 calorie Muffin!
  • Keep thinking 'Me First" everything you do and eat and think, keep it your goal at the fore front of your brain. I would say planning is key. Go out to eat that would be easier and less stressful than satisfying everyone's tastes. Go online to search out menu and calorie levels of the foods you would eat at certain…
  • I use 30 day shred 3 x a week and do 30 min on treadmill (10 min on 3.5, 10 min on 4.5 and 10 min at 5.5) 7 days a week I don't take any breaks. The first 2 or 3 times I did shred I was achy and sore too, but you are working new muscles and gaining muscle too, muscle burns fat so it is all good, space out your workouts and…
  • Great post, My name is Barb and I am an MFP addict. I have been addicted since 12/28/10 and I do not see it letting up.
  • Sweets are my down fall too, try this recipe, 1 tub of thawed fat free cool whip, mix in well 2 Tblsp of peanut butter, scoop mixture into a cupcake pan (line each cupcake mold with tin foil) swirl a bit of chocolate syrup on top and freeze for 6 hours or so. Enjoy this 70 calorie frozen treat, it seems to satisfy my pb…
  • Net should be 1200 no less, to maintain body functions. So if you were allowed 1200 calories for your daily food budget, and you exercised 300 calories, you would need to eat 1500 calories to be treating your body fair. The more you exercise the more you should feed your body the energy, making good choices like fruits,…
  • Biggest looser volume 1 and 2 available for free download and Wake Up and Work out all free. 2 different places to load 30 high beats per minute songs that I love to listen to over and over. I forget I am running on the treadmill sometimes! http://subway.workoutmusic.com/ I have been searching for new music to load to my…
  • Choices, freedom, pick wisely or you may regret it later. (food) Get going, do it, make it count today! (exercise)
  • The amount of bread, there is extra meat too might attribute to that. If you made it at home the bread is a slice versus a bun. Yeah eating out really is hard, but don't sweat it, sometimes it is good to fool the body with other foods once in a while, plus I bet you made you husband happy!
  • I also plateaued at 10 lbs lost. I went back to look at my monthly report and noticed a increase in sodium intake, and this could have caused some retention and bloating. Also too much cheese was on my diet, caused an issue. So review what you have been eating and see if there are any clues in your numbers, were they any…
  • trying going to "settings" on your home page, or under tools. This will help you change or "edit" previous entries.
  • This is a healthy obsession. I would keep logging everything. It really helps to see the big picture! And when you run the reports it will give you a more accurate picture of your progress.
  • I read your food diary and it looks great, a like mine. But I did not see that water consumption meter have anything logged. Are you drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. I read on another site that you should drink 1/2 of your current body weight everyday. I personally struggle with 8 cups, but maybe increase your…
  • I run/jog about 2 miles per day, started 12/29 and have lost 12 pounds to date. I just bought a HRM watch. It does measure the calories burned based on your age, female or male settings and heart rate. I bought my watch at Best Buy for $59.99. I am on my 3rd day of using it. Seems pretty accurate for the most part.
