I think weight lifting works best for us shorties! When we aim to loose ten to fiifeen lbs it could be 10 percent of our entire body mass so building muscle does the most good and we seem to see the the greatest benefit. I have lost 26 lbs from 162 with a goal of 120. I am currently at 136.

I have not yet tried kettle bell but I too use strong lifts and have lost 22lb so far from 162 down to 136. I was a size 12 to a size 4-6. I swear by it! I hate cardio! I do Zumba just because I love to dance but that is only 2 times a week for fun. My main workouts are 39-40 minutes of strong lifts. I don't even do it…

I promised myself I would squat 100lbs by the end of March and I did it. I also did three sets of five with 95 lbs. So I weigh 139 and I am squatting 100 lbs not too shabby!!!

buffet of any kind. I tell myself I will only eat protein and veggies but I can never stop at just that..Even slop troth Ryan's type of buffets where food is not that good. I think they pump in food endorphins or something to make you hungry in those places!

Not a study but my 16 year old daughter went on hormonal BC to regulate periods. She is extremely active runs track practice five days a week. She was on the pill for three months and gained 10 lbs all while running 5+ miles every day with no change in calories at all. Came off the pill and within one month was back down…

Mine is kind of a dumb blonde moment..I asked my husband to feel my arm because it felt swollen on the back-tricep...it wasnt swollen- It was muscle!

Tried on clothes at Kohls.. I was able to wear a medium shirt, size eight pants, and a six dress...Whoo Whooo!

Barefeet..I swear gripping with my toes helps me and just cannot grip as well with shoes.Yes even at thegym..I just spray downthe floor and wipe after putting shoes back on.

Just curious about why not 5x5 now and doing the split? Can 5x5 alone get good results? I just started it at the beginning of march mostly because I hate cardio but not sure if SL alone with good diet can get weightloss of around 20 lbs while building muscle.

{"I never wanted to be scary skinny (I'm very small framed, my 106 looks like a good 115-120)." Is this your current weight? If you are 5ft 2 inches then you do not need to loose weight. BMI 19.5 is healthy. You want to exercise/lift weights for health that is great but not to loose weight.

Moving up to eight lb hand weights for bicep curls in circuit training class. I think the lifts in strong lifts 5x5 help a lot but endurance is still a struggle doing 3 sets of 15 during that class but I will still take three lb increase!

It does not weigh more but it does take up less space. Hence a person with lower body fat will be leaner looking.

I am not certain your numbers were right. 800 calories a day net would result in weight loss even in so called starvation mode in the long term.
