  • I also HATE lifting...it's so boring to me to do the same repetitive motion over and over again. I prefer body weight exercises like pilates also. I started p90x3 about a month ago and like that wayyy better. It can also be argued that exercises like that are better for you because the movements target a variety of muscles…
  • I found some great lentil chips at wholefoods. I know you said you didn't want chips, but at least those are made out of lentils :).
  • I actually went and did some research after reading your post and yes what I found was that if you are overweight, it is recommended that you keep your fat intake to 20% - 25% of your overall calorie intake. I personally have a high protein goal and usually end up eating to many carbs and fat. Have to work on that, but…
  • Wish I could help but I feel that I am in the same boat. I am bumping this because I want to know also!! :) I am trying to loose fat and my goal is also around 50g per day.
  • I also work out hard, twice a day...and at first I was having trouble loosing weight and really couldn't wrap my brain around that idea. I was thinking, "I'm burning so many cals, how is it possible that i'm staying the same or even gaining?!?" But then, I got real with myself when it came to two things, my food and water.…
  • I agree I think protein is the most important, I have my goals for 40% protein 35%fat and 25% carb because my body doesn't do well with carbs. I usually get pretty close but yes somedays are off, I say just do the best you can but concentrate mostly on protein, especially if you are working out alot.
  • I am giving up bread and pasta! :)
  • I would love to hear from people that have some answers for you. The EM2WL thing hasn't taken off for me either, i've stayed the same or gained this whole time, haven't seen any real progress. I started on July 4th...so it's been 2 months.
  • I'm always looking for new friends!! :D
  • I drink all of my water plain, because those additives don't always have the best stuff in them. Plus, it's always better to have things as close to it's natural state as possible. That being said, I dont see anything wrong with having some of those additives every now and then :)
  • What I do is just add what I burn to my BMR, that way if my calorie burn changes then it works out.
  • This is awesome, great for a newbie like me :) Thanks everyone!
  • Hey, I"m a newbie as well and looking to for friends! I really want to eat clean and get the scale moving! :)

  • Hey Mandy, I literally just joined this group like 3 minutes ago lol. I just decided to day to try a clean eating lifestyle before I have also been in a plateau for a few months and i'm hoping this is what I need to kick things into gear and start seeing results on the scale! Feel free to add me for sure :) I'm looking for…
  • Hey Mindy! No problem, exactly that's what I do as well on days I dont workout :)
  • Hey Mindy, I've been doing the EM2WL thing for about 7 weeks now and I've gained 2.2 lbs... it's been kinda weird so far for me, where some weeks i loose and some I dont..then some I gain. I've been staying around the same vicinity, but I'm like you and I want to see the scale go DOWN. I've lost weight twice before doing…
  • Thanks! I am going to stick with it, I just completed week 4 and still gaining. Hopeful that it will turn around though. I am not sure what NROLFW is, i'll have to look into that maybe. I didn't know about starting at TDEE first, I did start off cutting calories from TDEE right away. I might have to look into that too :/
  • I do weigh myself weekly already, so yeah hopefully it will start to show! I didn't know that about the valid weigh in day. I weigh in the same day every week. I didn't know being sore could affect weigh ins. I'll take that into consideration thanks! :)
  • Hey! Well I certainly can't give you good advice about EM2WL because it hasn't been working for me either. But i've only been doing it for two weeks. How long have you been doing EM2WL? I know they say that you will gain at first and then begin to loose at some point. The fact that you can't workout like you used to will…
  • I just started this last week and i'd LOVE to be added to the support group!! :)
  • Thanks for this. I just started this lifestyle change on July 4th after stumbling onto some threads about TDEE. I have been the "1,200 cals or less" and "fasting" dieter for years. I have lost weight twice in my life, this is my third attempt. I was able to achieve "success" with those other methods, but as you can see I…
  • I am completely new to this, I started last Thursday (July 4th) I hope I can see results like everyone else! :)
  • I've recently started the TDEE method as well. When you say maintenance is 1,950, do you mean that's your BMR? If so, then you should eat between 1,950 and 2,400 and workout. That should help. Before you started doing this, you might have not been eating enough which could cause starvation or you could have been eating to…
  • This happens to me too, but what cwolfman13 said was interesting. I know that weight normally fluctuates but I never thought to look at it as maintaining.
  • I dont know much about it either. But I think you can just say the generic answers about how what you are doing right now is working for you and you dont want to put your body through something so extreme maybe? lol good luck :)
  • I have a water bottle that holds 20ounces of water, I try to drink at least 4 of those a day, but usually I drink more (around 5 or 6) 100 plus ounces a day. I didn't know the equation about multiplying your weight by .5 though. That's good to know.
  • I think everyone's body is different and how much weight you can loose a month depends on how well your body responds to the regimen you but it through. however, if you want to loose with and loose it for good it might be best to go the "slower" route. I think your goal weight is reasonable for your height and 1,300 cals…
  • This is a great thread, I am just starting this and I want to know the same thing. I have a crazy work schedule and sometimes I Just have to grab whatever!
  • I just started the TDEE method after reading a ton of helpful threads here on MFP. My plan is to NET above my BMR which is 1550. I've been eating anywhere from 1,600 to 1,900 depending on if I workout or not. My sweet spot number is 1,705 cals though, so I try to say as close to that as possible. :) I workout 3-4 times a…
  • Well first of all congrats on getting married! I agree with I_Will_End_Yo, you can definitely loose something within 11 weeks but probably not as much as you want to. I would just focus on doing what you can, either way i'm sure you will look amazing on your wedding day :)
