Yes, yes, and yes! My brain is definitely still many pounds heavier than my body. I am still constantly surprised when I get a "flash" of my true appearance. I heard someone else on MFP theorize that it is about a six-month lag time between brain and body -- so Hang in there!!

DItto!! Go get 'em!

How do you feel your symptoms compare to plantar fascitis? Rolling your arch over a tennis/racquetball can help with that!
-
DITTO the advice quoted below Also training plans are readily available online or from the Library. 15 weeks is plenty of time! Add a mile a week until you get to 10, then alternate 10-7-11-7-12-7-Race Day! :)

Great idea! Running clothes = pajamas! Roll out of bed, throw on the shoes and go. Come back for breakfast & a shower, then on to the rest of your day. Long run on your day off. It's in the bag -- You can do it!

Four days a week of running sounds great at this point in the game. Rather than adding more days of running, you might consider adding some cross-training, like a circuit class of some sort (P90-HIIT-Insanity).

You are not the only one who feels this way, but I tell you what, it worked for me! My kid was a RUNNER. As much as I tried to train her to listen to me, most toddlers have very poor impulse control. I saved the backpack with a tether for situations when we were in a crowd -- like festivals and airports -- to keep us from…

Just your basic run-of-the mill caucasian Heinz 57 over here. My ancestry can be traced in America back to the Revolutionary War on one branch of the ol' family tree, and from there and on different branches to: English, German, Swiss, Scots-Irish, and who knows what else! HA!

Heck no. Love the skin you're in! Just the way God&Nature made you. ♥

WAY TO GO! Keep up the good work! That dress will hang off of you like a sack in another 30 pounds!

ME! I was 35 when my one and only was born -- five years later we're 40 and 5. In the mom's group I frequent, I still gasp when I realize that nearly all the other ladies are a solid 10-15 years younger than me! I just can't imagine being 25 with kids! LOL (I know I'm the odd one out, but I was SOOOO not ready for kids in…

YES! Measuring is very useful. Especially if that is you in the profile pic (*hubba*hubba* ) you don't have a lot of fat left to lose, so your weight won't change much but your dimensions WILL as you work out different muscle groups to your satisfaction. On my calendar, I write down my weight from the scale every…

I'll let you know in 12 weeks! After over a year of walking and running, I just joined a place that does Tabata / HIIT / Insanity style fitness classes. I took some "before" pictures. *Tick*Tock*

ROCK STAR! WOOOOOOOOOT!!

DITTO to everyone, but particularly this ...

"What they said!" You've been training with the camelbak, you like it, you have a routine with it. "Nothing new on Race Day!" Wear the Pack, your usual shoes, clothes, hat, etc. And ... HAVE FUN! Get someone to take a picture of you before and after.

I haven't chimed in since January! Yikes. However, I have kept up on my training, and can report 205 miles in the last three months! 3868.59 + 205 = 4073.59

^^^^^ bwah-hahahahaha! I see typical American suburban animals -- dogs, cats. Usual birds are mourning doves, robins, finches, sparrows. However there is one semi-rural neighborhood I go through that has sheep, goats, and all kinds of game birds/pheasants, plus an albino peacock! That is pretty special.

HAHA! I can totally relate! One thing I've learned on this journey is to ONLY get pants with belt loops or a drawstring so I can get more mileage out of them before replacing (and avoid potentially embarrassing drawers-dropping)!! Hit the thrift stores and the clearance racks for more pants -- I say that, because it won't…

Great progress! Keep up the good work!

I just turned 40 in March and I am SO EXCITED about my 40's! It just keeps getting better and better -- I feel like a fully realized person reaching the top of her powers. A lot of it has to do with me taking charge of my fitness and being responsible for my health. That accountability and responsibility is having a ripple…

It took me months before I started to donate the clothes that were too big -- but it felt SO GOOD to shed that "psychic weight" after shedding the excess body weight. Shop the clearance sections and thrift stores to emphasize that your current size is still temporary as you work toward goal. It's cheaper, and makes it…

WOOT! Go get 'em! Planned for this year (we'll see what Life has in store, though): May 19 -- Famous Potato Half-Marathon July 4 -- Melba 10K October 14 -- City of Trees Half-Marathon I am out of town for work March 5-15, and my "training plan" calls for 9 miles. I found a 10-mile Event in the region. I might just…
