  • I do a seven day average to get my weight - so don't let a single day get me too upset, though I prefer not to see a jump on any day :) The weight by average allows me to see small losses of 1/4 pound per week, which yes, in the past, has been how slow I can be. For me - salty, not enough water intake, can get me retaining…
  • Oooo, and there is a recipe by ibreatheimhungry for a green enchilada chicken cauliflower casserole that is to die for, depending on how your diet allows for any dairy.
  • I make a roasted cauliflower and leek soup that is pretty good. You can google up a good recipe for that. I also make a version of the cauliflower pizza crust where I make flatbreads with different toppings. Love cauliflied rice, faux potato salad etc.
  • Have you thought about the fun of putting together cookbooks? I have a huge growing one in a binder of family favorites (including recipes I've created over the years that my husband and I love), then I have a binder cookbook of recipes to try, and a binder cookbook of recipes that are cm (craving reducing, part of the…
  • That's what I call a craving, and I only get those if I've inadvertently gone off my plan. Check your labels, consider if you added a new tea or (if using) a new to you artificial sweetener, cold meds etc. You'd be surprised where they pop in sugars/carbs.
  • If you go to my profile, I have the address to it there.
  • Welcome, I have a blog as well, addy is in my profile, if you'd like to see some of my recipes, links to fav recipes, my journey. Congratulations on starting this journey to where you want to be :)
  • I adore zucchini noodles sautéed with a bit of lemon juice and olive oil. I use Miracle Noodles brand fettuccine or rice as well, and love cauliflied rice stirfries. I also make a flatbread using finely riced cauliflower as the base (recipe on my blog). I make a wonderful roasted cauliflower and leek soup that tastes (to…
  • Let me share what works for me. I weigh daily, and see many ups and downs. I can usually know it's a salty food, a meal out, or that I just didn't eat as balanced a meal with carbs (part of my plan) in the eve as I thought. Once a week I average the past 7 days of weight, and it has been a godsend. I can see those weeks…
  • Sounds delicious. I like to make (for special holiday brunch) things like scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and lemon cream, or a frittata with escarole and cheeses :)
  • I use Solgar brand only for all my vitamins and supplements. I used to take Magnesium Citrate 400 mg per day, and am now taking 500 mg per day as I newly am taking a calcium magnesium citrate supplement. I am, however, still having some..issues. I may up the calcium to 600 per day and get the calcium up a teense as well.
  • I look at my long history of off and on, and then my life since i got on my plan and refused to drop back off. I like my life since losing over 210 pounds MUCH better. Take a few minutes to gather yourself up, plan a menu for the next 2 days include your favorites, and get back on.
  • I found a recipe on the net called Chicken Bombs. They were for grilling, but the option was there to bake and to use chicken breast instead of thigh. Basic recipe - clean a jalapeno popper - stuff with a mix of cream cheese and a cheese you like (amount of both will be small given how small jalapenos are usually), place…
  • Just wanted to say congratulations in advance. I love Fall weddings! (coming up on my 20th anniversary in early October :) ) I do a different plan but would add this to what the person above said - plan, plan, plan. Find your favorite meals that fit your plan, things you can travel with or take to work. If you like to…

  • I'm losing weight - errors or not. I think the idea of a usda list coming up separately as a choice is a really good one. Until then, I'll continue to read my labels, and when that isn't giving me calories, get a sense of the most accurate by looking at 3-4 entries, as I've been doing. Just not worth it to me to get…
  • Re mexican, I've found that our favorite local restaurant is wonderful about substituting sauteed veggies for the rice and beans, and there are several choices that work for me. One is bacon wrapped jack cheese stuffed prawns served with a red pepper sauce. Another is a marinated grilled chicken breast (chicken parilla -…
  • Thank you - it is the Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Program, and I love it :)
  • Not sure where you live, but in my area, I go to either Jimmy Johns for a roast beef unwich (no cheese), or carl's jr for their grilled cod sandwich - done as a lettuce wrap.
  • Congratulations! Glad to learn I'm not the only person who had clothes in the closet from over 20 years ago ;-)
  • Hello and best wishes to you! I have a blog as well about my way of eating (CALP) and my journey losing over 200 pounds. URL is posted as part of my profile.
  • I hit them with protein bullets. Smoked oysters, tin of smoked kippers, a baby bell gouda cheese with celery sticks, some cooked chicken breast or thigh (wrap a slice of bacon around a small chicken thigh, your favorite sugar-free seasoning - I love "The Zip" mild, by The Spice Hunter. Make some deviled eggs - can stuff…

  • I love tins of smoked oysters, canned tuna, nick's spicy sticks (avail off amazon, but expensive), no time - but for the future or anyone else reading - luther's jerky - has a popcorn version that is sugar/carb free. Chewy but tasty wonderful stuff. I'd take a good head of celery - love celery sticks and they help keep you…
  • I wish I'd not been the age I was when I began getting things finally figured out. At my highest I was 368+, am now within 10 pounds to goal. Whatever plan you've chosen to follow, be sure it is one you can live on, with some modification, for maintenance as well. It is a lot easier to like how you are eating, while losing…
  • This only happens to me if I'm not in balance with how I'm eating. If I feel physically full but have "hunger" it's a craving and those only happen if I've eaten something I shouldn't have for my plan. I just look over my food log, try to identify the culprit, drink lots of water and have great care with my food choices…
  • I can tell you I did the on and off thing from the late 1990's until 2011. It really was awful. If you can flip your attitude as I did, to one of "how can I" from "I just can't because...", it makes all the difference. I am pre-diabetic - and have held off Type II by diet changes. You can so improve your health and how you…
  • Camtosh that looks amazing! and delicious. I just finished a breakfast of a bit of beef, mini bell pepper and kelp noodles (and yes, a bit of cheese melted over all).
  • You can buy the miracle noodles brand, which do not require refrigeration, and have no soy, from amazon.com. I love swiss chard - cooked in bacon grease..yum.
  • I had after the first 88 pounds, an almost year long plateau, which I broke by learning portion control after coming to mfp. I have weeks of good loss, weeks of slow, and the rare week of gain. The one thing I know, if I don't abandon the way I'm eating, it works. I do weigh daily because Dr. Richard and Dr. Rachel Heller…
  • All your responses help, thank you so much! I will natter freely here, but do keep my journal private. For seeing how and what I eat, my blog is listed in my profile, and I will freely share here. I.e. Breakfast cm this morning: 1 egg over easy in 1/2 tsp. grass-fed unsalted butter. 1 scallion. 1 Turkey sausage split in…
