  • i remember when a personal trainer friend of mine told me to get rid of those last few unwanted lbs, i had to quit alcohol. *shudder* since i started I.F., i haven't given up anything that i love, wine included! (and don't get me started on my vodka!) as long as you log it, and don't overeat while drinking, you're…
  • forgot to comment in this area on my previous post. i had a hysterectomy last year, so i have no idea how it would affect a woman's cycle.
  • i have been doing I.F. for a while now and i absolutely love it. (43-year-old female) i do a 17/7 fast where i eat for about 7 hours per day (from noon - 7:00 p.m.) and fast for the remaining 17 hours per day. i also incorporate two 24-hour fasts per week (that is, not eating from noon - noon one day to the next, then…
  • you already have muscles  building muscle tissue is healthy for you, and if you build it now, it is especially great at your young age. muscle burns fat. and you won't get bulky. i LOVE lifting weights! my arms look amazing, and VERY womanly
  • i think it has been a big psychological journey for me to lose weight. i am currently modified paleo, but honestly, it is the mental part that has helped me most. i had 4 miscarriages and i was SO ANGRY with my body, i unconsciously did whatever i could to "get back" at my body for failing me. i would eat in secret (really…
  • when i was pregnant last year i bought palmer's cocoa butter firming and then another kind that was to prevent stretch marks, it was like an anti-sagging. i used one on left leg/thigh and the other on the right leg/thigh. after 3 months of use, i could tell NO DIFFERENCE, and they were expensive. now i just use B&BW.
  • i use whatever i find at $1 store and sometimes use noxzema as a moisturizer (rub it in, leave it on) i have really great skin, but honestly i think it's genetics. my grandmother is 90 and is often mistaken for her daughter's SISTER, no kidding. i only wash my face if absolutely necessary, don't wear make-up, and use water…
  • i appreciate this. i was VERY unhealthy when i was younger, in fact, in college, about 100 lbs, i had the highest body fat composition of anyone in my fitness class. i am currently in excellent shape (i lift weights, heavy lifting) and my body looks completely different. i do appreciate the input from everyone and i agree…
  • i just had my hysterectomy in january of this year, so i'm hoping to be able to continue to lose, i know it causes gaining in alot of women. thanks for sharing your story
  • to be perfectly 100% honest, i started this because i was unhealthy. my cholesterol was high and my mother had a heart attack & stroke. i really just wanted to be able to run and play with my daughter, and to be healthy like i was when i was young. losing weight was the only way i could get to that point. i was heavy, i…
  • just wanted to wish you luck  i do a different version of fasting, i don't eat after dinner, then my next meal the following day doesn't come until lunch, so i am fasting for about 16 hours per day. it is working for me, i hope it works for you
  • i definitely notice a difference in clothes; i was a size 12 and now a size 4. i do set other goals, too, and won't be upset if i dont' reach 120, but i just wondered what people thought about age and weight. just wondering if it's really true that you can't be "as small" when you are older.
  • it was a mild 62 degrees today and i was freezing and needed my jacket. that is new to me but i love it. i think about it as if i have less body fat now to keep me warm! LOL
  • i would stop the splurge on fridays. and also cut out alcohol if you drink. cut out 100% sometimes it's mental, and "splurging" on fridays might be making your mind think that you're on a diet. you need to live a healthy lifestyle to keep off the weight, so instead of considering yourself on a diet with the need to splurge…
  • I don't give-in to my cravings anymore. the other day i wanted a Coke, and when i smelled my son's cup full of bubbling cola, it was enough to satisfy me. the way i feel now, nothing tastes that good to throw me off what i'm doing.
  • i haven't eaten bacon once on this "diet" bacon has sugar in it, and i don't eat sugar (when added, of course i eat naturally occurring sugars) i don't think it is the end-all and be-all to everything. but i was an insomniac, now i sleep through the night. i have several mental health issues, which are clearing up - i know…
  • i quit cold/turkey, too. much easier for me, and i could see results vs. just taking it slowly and not being sure what was making me feel better
  • blueberries almond butter chocolate almond milk (no sugar added) oranges bananas zucchini ground turkey and/or beef Lara bars Kind cinnamon cereal
  • try to google gluten-free recipes. alot of them will have alternatives.
  • that's not true at all. i am eating far more since we started. my appetite has decreased, but overall, the AMOUNT of foods i am eating has drastically increased as compared to when i was calorie counting and just eating Lean Cuisine and other ways of cutting caloires.
  • some studies are actually showing that calories in/calories out is old school.
  • OWN IT! you've worked hard. take the compliments, say "thank you, i FEEL AMAZING" and talk about how you feel vs. your looks and then move on. as for your aunt, next time, just say, "thanks" and use your hands to move hers off of your body or hair. i don't like to be touched by anyone except my husband, that's just me.…
  • i guess you meant "bread" and not "beard." i have found that white beard actually has zero calories. (LOL) :noway: white bread is very processed and you are getting very little of the original nutrition. i am not eating bread these days at all, not even "whole wheat" so i'm probably not the one to ask.
  • i used to not label foods either, until i stopped eating certain things. now i definitely have a list of bad foods.
  • i used to do the same thing. i would drive-thru and eat something from fast-food and then throw out the receipt and bags before i got home. i feel so much better now that i've stopped, both physically and mentally
  • i've only had food poisoning once and i literally could not eat. try to drink water if you can. i threw-up so many times, even water was impossible. sorry
  • my son & i found triple stuffed at the store a few weeks ago!!!! they were heavenly!
  • OMG - i absolutely LOVE them! i let them soak for just a bit, not too soft. i could eat an entire bag.
  • i totally see this point. that is very true - makes it seem as if i am attacking their ways, even if i'm not.
  • my husband and i started a few weeks ago by wanting to try the JJ Virgin diet, then as we got into it, i started doing more research and came across paleo. we modified a few things (such as we are not eating eggs right now) but the part about not counting calories come from the JJ Virgin diet. you eliminate: 1. soy 2.…
