My goal is general strength and conditioning. I'm doing 5 sets with varying reps, but if I feel like they're getting too high, I increase the weight and decrease the reps. I have kids and work full time, and I like to free up a couple days a week for conditioning (running, hiking, HIIT routines). So it's tough to free up…

Yes, it's a combination curl to overhead press. If I didn't do the curls first, I could definitely press more weight. So I was thinking about just a press or Arnold press for the second workout. Rows are definitely something I'd like to start doing again. Thanks!

My favorite brand for awhile now has been Optimum Nutrition. I personally like the extreme chocolate flavor. Low carbs and great taste.

Thanks for the advice! I've gone back and forth with my calorie goal SO many times and I know that you have to eat more in order to build muscle. It's just been so difficult for me because I'm always worried about putting on more fat. Maybe it's just a mental thing that I need to get over. Some days I would like to eat…

I always drink a 12 oz glass of 2% milk post workout. Not too much fat, not too little. Just right for me

Try the 531 program. There's a 2 day a week template. It's a very flexible program and works well if you follow it. I love it!
-
I'm also doing the 531 routine and am very happy with it. It's not too demanding like SL or SS, but will give you good results more slowly as long as you're patient. I've done both of those programs and got burned out and stalled relatively quickly due to the 3x a week squats etc. I'm doing the beginner template to get in…

Thanks! I'll log the estimate for strength training, but I'll be careful not to overestimate. I used to do that and I wasn't seeing the results I wanted until I started logging accurate calories burned based on my HRM.

Hmm... The chocolate milk I use as a recovery drink (which it's excellent for), is 180 calories with just 8g of protein for 8 oz. The unflavored protein powder I use is 110 calories with no carbs and 25g of protein per scoop. Not the same thing.

Whey protein powder, greek yogurt, cheese, eggs, lean meats, fish, nut butters, nuts (almonds are my personal favorite).

A small bale of hay - 50 lbs. :)

Polar FT4. I use it all the time and have had for over 3 years. Works great, very accurate.

Sounds like you have a lot more to worry about than counting calories...yikes.

Feel free to add me. I've lost 45 lbs and would still like to lose 10 more or so

No diet plan necessary. Eat a healthy, balanced diet of protein, fat, and carbs. Eat a calorie deficit of about 20% or so under maintenance calories. Cut out high sugar foods, they have no nutritional benefit at all. Watch the weight come off. I've lost 45 pounds doing this

I don't like many light beers, but I LOVE Sam Adams light.

Greasy, crispy pepperoni pizza from the local shop that I can smell almost every time I drive by :s

Topamax was prescribed to me for irritability believe it or not. It helped a little bit, but I experienced confusion and blurry vision and had to stop taking it. The negatives far outweighed the benefits for me and a lot of other people on this thread too.

Umm....diet soda has no calories.

Optimum Nutrition for me as well. I like the Extreme Milk Chocolate flavor by itself with almond milk, but sometimes I add berries and peanut butter to it. Soooo good!

Anyone can feel free to add me! I log every day and my diary is public. Let's do this!!

I agree with you on that. I just feel that BB is great for a beginner like myself, since I can do it at home and would be a bit intimidated at the gym. In the future I plan to join a gym and do Stronglifts or an Arnold program maybe...something along those lines.

Right...because doctors are NEVER wrong about anything. We should bow to them and kiss their feet just to be blessed enough to be in their holy all-knowing presence! Yup, it's their world and we're just living in it

I love tuna, great source of protein. I get the 5oz cans, which is about 33g of protein! Most of the best sources of protein have already been touched on by other people here. Feel free to friend me and check out my diary. I log daily and I eat about 190g of protein a day.
