  • I've had a fitbit for a few months, and would love some more friends on MFP and fitbit! (females only please) Add me on both! :) http://www.fitbit.com/user/279YPC
  • Wow, you've got quite the schedule!! While I was going through Grad school and working and doing internships, I was away from home for 14-16 hrs each day, and then weekends were spent helping my husband with wedding photography and church activities. What helped me get through was to have a weekly planner where I blocked…
  • Guilt accomplishes nothing, except for beating yourself up. Okay, so you had an off day of indulging in your cravings. The fact that you did feel the need to over-indulge may mean that you are being too restrictive to begin with, and are not giving your body all of the nutrients that it needs. Dust yourself off, pick…
  • Congrats on your loss! Losing 70 lbs says to me that you absolutely have the drive within you to accomplish your goals! Don't beat yourself up over gaining back some of the weight. Its so easy to get discouraged over something small like that, but is it really worth you giving up on your ultimate goal? The path to success…
  • Men can sometimes come across as being insensitive to things that really matter to us. Chances are, however, that he did NOT mean it in a negative way, but just wasn't good enough with his words to say it in a way that sounds encouraging instead of demeaning. When he asked when you are going to start working out again, its…
  • You've made great progress so far! Dont let a plateau stop you from working towards being healthier! I'm in about the same boat as you. I'm 147, goal is 135, and the pounds are coming off slow as molasses! I am also a weight watchers convert after realizing how few calories I was actually eating on the plan (mine was close…
  • You could do a "workout jar", where every time you work out, you pay yourself a dollar. Use the money you collect for new, smaller clothes! Or a spin on a common "pounds lost, pounds to lose" jar, Add one marble to the jar for when you make good healthy decisions (could be just for working out, or when you are able to…
  • When I went through grad school, my study night munching consisted of mint gum, carrots or cucumber, and hot tea. (just not all at the same time!)
  • I love runkeeper! I am "directionally challenged" and can get lost very easily. But when walking/running with RK, I can be more adventurous in exploring new roads/trails because I can see the map of where I'm at and where I started! And it's also nice to see your pace and distance all in one app.
  • Feel free to add me! Im 25, 150, goal is 135-140.
  • Thanks for sharing your story. You are truly an inspiration and a great example of overcoming obstacles to reach toward your goals! I know you are dealing with some very difficult symptoms from Lupus, but your optimism will carry you on the days when you may feel like you can't even carry yourself. Im praying for you! Stay…
  • I recently jumped on the fitbit bandwagon and have been struggling getting 10k steps. However, recently I've started pacing while watching tv or doing other typically sedentary activities. For example, as I write this post im pacing back and forth with my ipad! Gotta keep an eye on the dog in the floor, and the occasional…
  • Depending on the type of HRM, you may need to subtract what you would normally be burning during that time (tdee for the 8 hrs) to get a more accurate count. It does sound like you get quite the workout there!
  • I'm 25, 5'4, currently 150 lbs, Highest weight-165, lowest weight-125. I'm focusing more on just getting healthy/fit, but would love to see the scale eventually hit 135. Feel free to add me!
  • I would love to add some friends who use fitbit AND mfp. For me, it's not as motivating when competing against someone that you only communicate with "cheers" and "taunts". On MFP, we can get to know each other better and hold more accountability! So add me as a friend on MFP and Fitbit! //www.fitbit.com/user/279YPC…
  • I would love some female fitbit friends! Feel free to add me on MFP and Fitbit! //www.fitbit.com/user/279YPC
  • I have both an ft4 and a fitbit. I wear the HRM during most exercising, and wear the fitbit all day. Unless you just walk as your main exercise, fitbit seems to be way under the HRM calories. For some of my workouts, I burn about 650 calories, but fitbit only counts for about 250 because it only logs steps. It's easy to…
  • I'd love to learn more about the group! I need some accountability!
  • I'd love to follow you and offer some support along the way. Do you have a link for your blog?
  • I have days like that too. I call them "blah" days where all I want to do is lay around and watch tv all day! I usually get those days when I'm feeling overwhelmed or when I'm having a pity party for myself. For me, the best way to get out of those low energy days is to make myself do something active, like take a quick 10…
  • I have 1 Corinthians 6:19 posted in my house as a reminder that my body is a temple. That sometimes helps when im feeling a junk food binge coming on. You might be interested in reading a book called MadeTo Crave that describes cravings from a biblical perspective. I haven't read it yet but have heard some good things…
  • I would suggest planning your calories around outings with your friends. If your friends talk about going to McDonald's for dinner, eat a smaller breakfast/lunch or plan for more exercise to help even it out. I personally would just choose something healthy when I go out with them like a salad or grilled chicken sandwich…
  • 1500 would be tough for me! I may try to reduce it to 2000 fro now, and as I get more used to it keep reducing it more.
  • Thanks for the feedback! I figure my calories burned during my workouts from a HRM (Polar FT4). The TRX class isn’t just strength, it has intervals of intense cardio. The HRM says my average heartrate during that time is 166 (max 192). For running the HRM says average 176, max 200. Do you think it is overestimating the…
  • I'm also looking for some more motivating friends!
  • Feel free to add me on fitbit and on MFP! http://www.fitbit.com/user/279YPC
  • Just got my fitbit today! Would love to add more friends who actively use fitbit!
  • I'm in the same boat as you. I had lost about 10 lbs, then the weight just decided to stay put! My plateau has lasted about 3 months so far. I usually work out 3-4 times each week doing interval training classes, TRX, running, cycling, and walking the dog. Normally I burn anywhere from 500-850 calories each workout…
