  • The best thing to do is cook as much as you can at home and try to eat mostly healthy. If you eat roughly 80-90% healthy for the week an occasional treat won't hurt you. Just keep your goal and motivation somewhere where you can see it like a post it note on the fridge to remind you why you are taking this fitness/weight…
  • I’ll help you if you’re looking for help with Keto. My fiancée does keto and it works pretty well for her. I can help with recipe ideas or anything you might need for help. Message me at any time
  • Welcome! I’ll be glad to help if you need an accountability partner.
  • 1500 calories a day is a very low amount for a guy. I think you should probably aim for 1800 bare minimum calories a day. It all depends on how much you’re excersing too. If you are mostly stationary you can get away with eating less, but if you are very active or do intense workouts you’ll need to eat more. Message me if…
  • Sounds like you’re off to a great start! Just keep at it and you’ll meet your goals.
  • Just keep with it day by day. Write down your motivations for losing weight. Set a goal and just stick to it. If you stay persistent that 25 pounds will come off in no time.
  • Great progress so far! Keep working at it.
  • Friend me and I can help you out if you're interested =).
  • Yeah I think that's really a problem most people have. Just give it your best guess of what you're eating to get a general amount. You should be able to make a rough guess of what you're putting into your body on those special occasions. As for home you can always use a food scale to measure your food for exact amounts.
  • I'll absolutely be your bulking buddy. More than happy to support you.
  • I don't really know anything about that, but really the best way to go about losing weight is just eating healthy and exercising. Just don't eat junk and move around and the pounds will come off.
  • My suggestion is just be careful and track what you eat and to manage stress just do whatever you can for a workout. Working out, even if it's just a walk, will help manage your stress.
  • First off are you only eating 1200 calories a day? That's pretty low and you should probably eat a bit more than that. 1200 calories is really the minimum amount a female should eat so if you plateau you leave yourself nowhere to cut. As for calculating deficit with MFP I wouldn't stress that much over it. Pick a calorie…
  • I snack on shredded wheat cereal for any calorie gaps I need to fill such as what you're saying. I'd definitely use those calories up and just snack on something small.
  • I can't say if you're eating too much or too little without knowing your calorie intake. Sounds from the sounds of things though that you have only been going for a few weeks? That's not a lot of time and it's normal for weight to fluctuate a little bit within a few pounds of range. It is possible that you've plateaued,…
  • 1300 calories is pretty low and not giving you much room to cut which can definitely be a problem (You shouldn't eat any lower than 1200). I'd try increasing your calories and work on your metabolism so you can give yourself more room to cut when you plateau. 1400-1500 calories would be a good bump for you to start to try…
  • I use pure protein powder that's pretty good. It runs for $20 for a jug of it. Plenty of affordable options for that if budget is a concern.
  • Whatever weight you feel comfortable at really. Just build to a point where you have a good amount of muscle and are happy with how you look.
  • Google up vegetarian proteins. Plenty of stuff you can eat so you're not just eating carbs.
  • Just to let you know the MFP calorie calculator might not be accurate for the amount you need to eat to gain weight. The key is to eat above maintenance to where you gain around .5-1lb a week and slowly add calories as you plateau. I would eat the same calorie amount every day or close to it (+ or - 100 calories) and stay…
  • Add me. I'll be glad to help and give you support.
  • Just eat what you like and make sure you have a calorie surplus and you'll be on the right track. If you give me ideas of what kinds of foods you like I could give you some ideas though. Also just look up recipes online. There's plenty of good resources out there for healthy recipes.
  • First of all I just want to say you're posting in the wrong section as this is for weight gain not loss, but I'll be more than happy to help. The biggest thing it sounds like you need to do is plan your meals for the day and stick with it. If you set a meal plan and don't deviate from it you can stay on the right track and…
  • Just a reminder that carbs are good for your diet so you don't want to go really low on them, because your body uses carbs for fuel. You can absolutely have fruit, but just make sure not to have too much because of the sugar. The lowest I'd go on carbs for a macro ratio is 50/30/20 (protein, carb, fat), but 40/40/20 is a…
  • Hard to say what's happening there, but it sounds like your calorie amount is where you want it. I'd say the best thing to do would be to ask your doctor and see what they say.
  • The key you need to remember is that the number on the scale can be evil at times. Just because the number goes up doesn't mean you aren't making progress. As you said muscle is more dense than fat so it will make that number go up. Also remember that muscle burns fat so you want to build muscle to trim that body fat %…
  • Definitely! That's the key to weight loss and keeping it off. Find something you can do that's sustainable long term for eating habits. Also remember not to completely deprive yourself either. An occasional treat is ok. I tell everyone to follow the 85-15 rule. If 85% of what you eat is healthy you should stay on the right…
  • Water weight can definitely make the number change. Also are you weighing yourself at the same time every time you weigh in? Weight fluctuates during the day so if you aren't consistent with your weigh in time you might see a change there. Also if your measurements are changing for the better, but your weight is going up…
  • About 3 months to lose the last 10lbs I needed to lose for me.
  • I wouldn't worry about tracking calorie burn. If you're losing between 1-2 lbs a week and don't feel like your bonking during the day you're fine.
