  • FYI: If you decide that you're interested in learning to knit or crochet (personally I prefer crocheting), there are a lot of tutorials on youtube. That way, you can pause, rewind, and see it again as many times as you need to. I learned the basic single crochet stitch that way first, and then went back and learned more…
  • Hi, I'm Mae. Hoping to lose 24 lbs by March. It's a really lofty goal for me, but I'm going to give it a try. I am a summer baby and love those warm months. I really struggle in the winter to force myself out of hibernation. My favorite way to exercise is Zumba. Love gardening and crocheting. And, would like to say that…

  • I found a website that will calculate your calories based on weight on one of the threads here: www.caloriesburnedhq.com Great idea combining the videos and classes! I'm sure you'll do great on your journey to the finish line! Add me as a friend if you want to since we're both doing the back to school thing and Zumba! We…
  • True...I was just lamenting how many calories are in marshmallows...So many calories for something so light and fluffy. *sigh*
  • 285.8 and falling. I've lost 7 lbs this week!!! Woot! I'm so thrilled!!!!
  • A few months ago I bought myself a new little black dress and some flashy heels to go with it. Felt more beautiful than I have in years. Also, after I lose 80 lbs., the first thing I'm going to do is buy a new bathing suit and head to the beach.
  • Is there anyone still in this group?
  • I've always carried weight all over, but MOSTLY in the belly. I've been told by a few different people (two of them fitness trainers) that the best way to lose a belly is to cut down on carbs. I've never stuck to it for long enough to see if it worked, but maybe you'll have more luck. I hope you find something that works…
  • Bettina, I hope that you are doing well on your weight loss journey. I am from the States, have similar amount of weight to lose. Add me as a friend if you want to!
  • Hi everyone. I'm Mae. I just found this challenge. Love it. As of July 1 I was at 287, so 4% would be about 11.5 lbs. I'm just getting started on my weight loss journey and need some friends and encouragement. Good luck to everyone!
  • I just found this group and would like to join you all. I don't know if I can burn 3500 calories in a week, but I'm willing to try! Thanks for the suggestions on workouts. That is helpful! Good luck to everyone.
  • Just found this group. Would love to join you all! I am just getting started, so I know 100 lbs. by January is not feasible, but I have more than 100 lbs. to lose and I'm just going to try to get as much off as possible. I need some friends and a lot of encouragement! July 1: 287 GW for July: 272
  • I get hungry 15 minutes after corn flakes but I switched to Kashi or Fiber One and stay full for much longer. (Caution: If you're not used to eating a lot of fiber, don't eat much of this cereal or you might feel like you're bloated all day!)
  • Mon: 348 (elliptical - though I think MFP calorie counter may be off on that, but I'll take it until I get a HRM!) Tues: 1127 (15 minutes on the elliptical, one hour of gardening, one hour of cleaning house) Wed: Thur: Fri: Sat: Sun: Total: 1475 Left to go: Woot! I guess if I count gardening and housecleaning I burn a lot…
  • Anyone can add me! I'm in the same boat. I actually have more than 100 lbs. to lose, but I'm starting with 10 lbs. at a time. I can't think about the big picture or I get too discouraged. I could use some friends for support!!!
  • Tried Slimquick twice. Once while watching my diet, once while eating whatever I wanted like normal. Lost weight while watching my diet, didn't lose weight when eating normally. So, I think it's not the product so much as it is the diet.
  • Hello? Anyone? I found a weekly challenge page. Anyone found any monthly challenges that are fun??? Anyone have any recommendations to get things going quickly?
  • Wow, I think I may have been a little too ambitious. I'm going to shoot for 1500 for the first week and work my way up. Mon: 348 (elliptical - though I think MFP calorie counter may be off on that, but I'll take it until I get a HRM!) Tues: Wed: Thur: Fri: Sat: Sun: Total: 348 Left to go: 1152

  • Wow. You guys are killin' it on the workouts. I must confess I have only hit the elliptical that one time and haven't made time for it since. But, I'm doing okay on the SouthBeach thing. It's really hard to think of something to have for breakfast when you can't eat carbs and you don't like eggs. I'll get the hang of it…
  • I am pumped. This sounds like a great challenge. 60 minutes 3 times a week is a lot for me right now, I am pushing to do 30 minutes three times, but I can work toward that by the end of the month. Today I started SouthBeach diet and am pretty excited about it because I felt like I ate a lot, but I'm just barely over my…

  • It looks like there is about 20 of us so far. Do you want to have weekly challenges or make it a game or anything? I'm not trying to be pushy, just want to generate some ideas so this thread (and our enthusiasm for it) doesn't fizzle out. April is a LONG way away right now!!! Good luck to everyone. I have a lot of weight…
  • I'll join you. Yea for looking great on Spring Break! Yea for getting a new swimsuit for my trip to Florida! I'm just starting back to MFP after losing my focus for about 3 months, so I need a goal.
  • Wow, taldie! You called it! Good luck to you. I have been reading people's posts, but can't hardly keep up with everyone! And, there are so many new people all the time! Whoa! How do you regulars keep up??? Pam, I'm still interested to know what ever happened with your friend who offered adoption. Kristi, awhile back you…
  • Kim, sounds like a good challenge. I'm not much for it right now. I am so darn exhausted lately I can't even think. I think I've fallen asleep at like 8:00 every night this week. Work is just exhausting right now....but, once things smooth out, I'll be more focused. Good luck to you!
  • Well, I didn't get a weigh in from Christie. However, she difinitely has the lead on total weight loss BY FAR. So, I think she's our overall winner!!! Congratulations, Christieherron! Good job!
