  • Antidepressants are killing my appetite. I'm on Zoloft and I don't feel hungry or full, ever. I'm trying to log to make sure that I'm actually eating enough, and eating the right things. Good luck, there seems to be a huge variance in the side effects of these drugs. Celexa made me lose my appetite as well. I have about…
  • For me, stomach problems are a physical manifestation of depression. I messed around with GI doctors for years before i realized i was treating a symptom not a cause. Hope u feel better.
  • Just saw the new responses. Thank you :)
  • Nope. 57 pounds took me a year. It was hard work.
  • Thank you. :)
  • Right? I see getting fit like recovery... its not the physical act of not drinking ( or overeating, or being underactive), its the change in mentality. This is why diets dont work. An addict doesnt quit for a while to get better, they change their way of thinking to get better, they reprogram. I reprogrammed myself away…
  • Hey thanks. Its nice to know that when i spill guts at least one peron is listening. Thx for your support
  • Dude again? Boo this man! Whoever gets that reference gets a cookie. Op you should thank your higher power that you are not an addict.
  • Sugar addiction? No. This brings to mind that scene from half baked when Thurgood goes to rehab. "You're in here for some Sugar? Boo this man!" Speaking as a former addict, sugar addiction is not a thing. I get sugar cravings, I eat a little and I want more, and this behavior may mimic addiction in some ways but this is…
  • Depression and drinking. Traded beer for hiking, still eat the same, 50 lbs down
  • That's awesome. I aspire to that... I don't own a scale (i weigh myself in the bathroom fixtures aisle at target lol) and I log estimates (don't weigh food) just so I have a general idea of where I am at. So that I can transition away from the numbers someday. But mfp has been a great tool! This calorie counting thing is…

  • I've lost almost that much, does that count? If I can do it you sure can!
  • The oj was suggested as an appetite stimulant, not a calorie boost.

  • Thanks. I do eat kind of like that, thing is I make myself the pbj, eat half, get full or distracted, try to force a few more bites, give up. I can eat at night, just not when I'm in work mode. I should concentrate on adding to my evening meal. I'd do the ice cream after dinner thing but I've been doing ice cream tastings…

  • Ive been adding more avocado to my salads, trying to make a habit of snacking on nuts, I have a case of probars at work that I'm always forgetting to eat. Somebody suggested that I drink a lil Orange juice ten minutes before meals to stimulate my appetite? Is that a thing? I'm just now starting to see some nice muscle…

  • Yes. The holidays throwing off my exercise routine sent me way down. On rest days I try to get a long walk outdoors, usually yoga as well. Skipping days can set off a bad cycle for me.
  • Chicken/beef with broccoli or prawns with snow peas and brown rice... i eat this once a week at least. Idk where you are but not many places use msg here anymore and i ask for low sodium soy. Sizzling rice soup is good, too... sometimes i have that as my meal.

  • We eat dinner out twice a week, and i estimate calories cause we dont eat at many chain restaurants. I order sensibly and am close to fifty pounds gone. Eat all the foods, just watch your portions :)
  • Would not use fresh tomato this time of year...tomatoes are seasonal. I was not aware that carrots come in a can.
  • Share cause if you are doing well it can help to motivate someone else.
  • I eat mine! Exercise calories are the most delicious calories. Size 10 down from a 16.
  • Hi restaurant people! I wish it was so easy to spit it out! Cant be rude to vendors or the new pastry chef, and the kitchen is open so i wont be able to spit in front of customers.... better to log and exercise it off! Its hard cause the food is soo good. Why does food have to be so good!!?
  • @cdjs77 OMG HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  • im not fat, i just have rilly big boobs. all over.
  • see but im like screw those people, why would anybody want to be friends with or impress people who would tease somebody and call them names because of stretch marks? those boys making rude comments? those are not the people you want as your friends. what i tell my kid (who is seven years old) is to hang out with the…
  • butter! my husband, who had high cholesterol until he cut wayyyy back on animal products, uses Earth Balance. Seems to be the healthiest and least offensive fake butter out there. Smart balance on the other hand, tastes like crap. i made cookies with it once and nobody in my family would eat them, and im a professional…
  • i loooove love love fried chicken. id eat a fried chicken kidney, too (dont be scared, its just a different part of the animal. are we not omnivores?). they put something in KFC that makes me ill... sweaty and dizzy and lightheaded and my stomach feels all gurgly for hours, every time. is it just me? this is what made me…
  • oh thanks! food culture is so fascinating to me. my husbands family is from another country and every family gathering is me going, "GASP! what is that? i must taste it!" melba toast looks like a crostini to me, would maybe be nice with tomato and basil and olive oil on top?
  • 'cause muscles, and because i want to eat more. MFP has me at 1500, to lost 1.5 lbs a week. i want to eat about 1800, otherwise i am hungry, feel deprived, and i cant fit a treat into my calories at the end of the day. so i exercise more, eat more, and i am strong. simple.
