  • Thanks guys. I don't really know how it happened. I have a pretty bad case of scoliosis that I had corrective surgery for when I was 13. That may have something to do with it, I'm not sure yet. I've been dealing with some leg and foot numbness for about a year and a half, then really severe pain set in about 8 weeks ago. I…
  • I was very close, but started having problems with my back. I have now been told that I have a ruptured disc and no more working out for a while. No lifting anything over 10 lbs. I have another doctor appt tomorrow to try to find out what the recovery plan is, so we'll see. I'm so bummed. I had finally gotten down to…
  • You're most welcome! Good luck!:flowerforyou:
  • Definitely! I think it's the perfect length to combine with the lean workouts. Well, it's perfect for me, it may not be perfect for everyone. I feel like I've had a tough work out and feel fabulous the rest of the day. I wouldn't try to do the 45 minute cardio party TJ workout before a lean workout. You would bonk out!
  • Let me clarify....I don't want to discourage anyone who may be just starting with this program. It's working great for my arms, legs and butt. My waist line just doesn't seem to be changing much. They say that our bodies with take the path of least resistance for burning the fat...well, my waist and belly are really,…
  • Well, I just started adding in Turbo Jam with the Lean Phase, because I wasn't happy with the results doing the ChaLEAN program alone. I do the TJ 20 minute workout before the ChaLEAN workouts. Even doing that, I still only burn about 500 calories working out for a little over an hour. I like doing the TJ first, because it…
  • The lean phase doesn't have any more cardio. It's really more like the burn phase, working two muscle groups at once. Also it goes back up to 12 reps, but still using the same weight or heavier than you used in the push phase. It's tough. After the first workout, I was so sore it hurt to brush my teeth the next day. I love…
  • You may not lose much weight, but your body composition should change dramatically. I just started the lean phase and I hear this is where you get your greatest results. We shall see, I have only done one work out. So far, I have lost only 4 lbs in 60 days. But, I don't have a thyroid, so my metabolism is different. I have…
  • I was too, but his site is blocked. He must be pretty offensive, because my work doesn't block many sites!
  • I'm with you on that one....Around here, it's more like "Nicole Kidman? Who's that? Oh, you know, that chick that married Keith Urban".
  • I feel your pain! I had mine removed in October of last year and have had an extremely hard time getting back on track. I was actually hyper before the surgery, so dropping weight was so easy, I was 10 lbs away from my goal. I bought a book called The Thyroid Diet by Mary Shomon. It has helped me tremendously. The weight…
  • Good morning! I started over with week 1 of the Push phase yesterday. I totally got off track last Thursday through Sunday, so I'm just going to do the entire week again. My arms are really sore today. I went for the 20 lb bicep curls and I'm not quite strong enough yet to pull that off. I generally do 3 days of cardio and…
  • My boyfriend bought me a set of Gold's Gym adjustable weights at Wal-Mart. They were only $50 each. They go up to 25 lbs each, so they will do for now. They are a little bulky and the weight is a little difficult to change sometimes, but with a little WD-40 they work just fine. I would love to have to bowflex weights, but…
  • Oh yes, you will be sore, especially if you really push yourself to lift heavier. I haven't taken any before pictures (just because I didn't want to see the reality of it). I only dropped one pound through the first phase, but all of my clothes are way too big after just 30 days. When I started, I could only do 8 lb bicep…
  • I'm in! I just started the Push phase and I am loving this program!!!
  • I'm 6'0, 175 lbs and mine runs about 115/70. I've visited lots of doctors lately (for different reasons) and none of them seem concerned about it. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If it were too low, you would be having dizzy spells I would think.
  • I just started a week ago. I love it! You really do have to lift heavier to get the full benefit. The first work out, I wasn't very impressed. I was almost disappointed that I spent that $150, but splurged on some heavier weights and it made a huge difference. If you actually listen to what she says and realize that you…

  • I've been here for almost a year and have never really posted much, from fear of being judged or called out. It seems that someone has something negative to say on almost a daily basis, so I just read the posts, track my calories and move on.

  • If you are having a hard time, please pay attention to this advice. I had to have my thyroid removed in October and it has been very difficult to get my metabolism back on track. I'm eating a 500 calorie per day deficit and seem to be just maintaining, but at least I'm not gaining any longer. I had almost reached my goal…
  • 3) You really do have some kind of medical condition. There are actual conditions that slow down the metabolism, lots of them in fact, most are relatively rare. In many cases, lack of proper nutrition can slow the endocrin system's hormone release and slow down the metabolism. Fortunately your endocrin system is very…
  • I just started Power 90 from beachbody.com 2 weeks ago. The workouts are rather boring, but man, do they work. I've already lost 1 1/2 inches on each thigh and and almost an inch on each arm. I used to be a fan of Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, but I would much rather to Tony Horton's workouts instead. Definitely check out…
  • Same problem here....I'm 6' and even 36 inseam could be a little longer. I buy my jeans from Victoria's Secret. You can only get them online, but I find that the sizing charts are helpful. They carry up to 14. What better to way to celebrate your weight loss than buying something from Victoria's Secret! Good luck in your…
  • Hey everyone. I've been MIA for a few months due to some health issues. Finally had to have my thyroid removed about 3 weeks ago. I have since gained 8 lbs. I'm really freaking out here. I have not changed my eating habits, but have however stopped excercising simply because I don't have the energy. I have seen others here…
  • My ex husband was in the military, spent a year in Iraq, and we have both done extensive research..(I won't go into for obvious reasons), but we will, without a doubt, both be voting for Obama. I think people don't debate it, because it usually turns ugly and causes ill will. There are too many people out there that can't…
  • Ok. I tried this recipe last night and all I can say is.....WOW!!! These are amazing! My boyfriend couldn't stop eating them, about made himself sick. I served it with a mexican bean salad, great flavor combination. Thanks for the awesome recipe Tam!
  • That does not sound like fun at all! Now I'm really dreading my appointment next week. It sounds like mine isn't quite as bad as yours. I'm at .003. I can't believe you were not feeling funky. I haven't had the unexplained weight loss thing either. Just a golf ball size knot in my neck, racing heart beat and extreme…
  • I'm dealing with the same thing right now. I have to go to an Endocrinologist next Thursday. I'm glad you posted this, now I kind of know what to expect. Were you not feeling abnormal before you went? I definitely was/am. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • S curve...there is one on each side of my spine from neck to hips. Spine still curves a little to the left and the pain is in the right hip and leg. A chiropractor told me to just do simple floor stretches, but that is not working at all. I'm glad you asked this question...I'm hoping you can save me a copay...
  • I have a question....I have scoliosis with herrington rods (sugery at age 13) and lately I have developed sciatica. When I work out really hard, my hip and leg just throb all day. Is there some sort of streching I can do to minimize that? I always stretch after workouts, but apparently not the correct way. It has really…
  • OMG!! There is nothing better than a Sunday afternoon ride. My boyfriend used to devote his entire life to his Harley, then got tired of the lifestyle and got rid of the bike. I'm trying really hard to talk him into getting another one, but haven't had much luck. He's become "no we can't do that, it's too dangerous" kind…
