  • Hello all! I'm glad to be in this group. I'm 29, and in the past year I've gotten married, adopted a dog, gone through a lot of changes at work (mostly positive!), started making more art (I'm terrible, but it's relaxing), and worked hard to get my financial life under control. While 2015 was mostly a great year, I got…
  • So far, I've had a granny smith apple, and, errrr, I guess a lazy chicken soup (bouillon cubes and a bunch of the veggies from a broccoli salad bag). Going to have a little packet of tuna with some sriracha soon. Goal for tomorrow: actually remember to bring a protein so I'm not stuck eating yet another packet of tuna.
  • Thank you all SO MUCH! I'm going to read through everything super carefully and respond in more detail soon. I really didn't think I did anything for my wedding, and I kinda gave up well before the wedding (~4 months). I certainly didn't see the wedding as an end goal (getting into "healthy" BMI range was my first long…
  • Day one was ok! I hit my step goal and logged all my food, even though I made a lot of unhealthy choices that I am not proud of. Didn't get to the gym, but I'm planning to do that today after I finish my volunteer gig at an adoption event for the local humane society. This is my first official time working at an event with…
  • I'm in! Thanks to Karen for the message so I was motivated to get back in here. * 12,917+ steps/day (random-ish number was set by my husband after I said I wanted something a bit higher than 10k last summer) * Log all food (been AGES since I kept up with this!!!) * Go to the gym 5x (went back for the first time in ages…
  • Congratulations! What an accomplishment.
  • Good morning Cari! Determination is so much more valuable than a quick timeline, and I'm glad you're celebrating that today. Today I'm celebrating things being a little bit quieter in my life. I was super busy and then laid out with chronic pain issues for a couple of days, and I just felt my time slipping away from me. I…
  • Cari, congratulations on the capris! How fun that a cute piece of summer clothing can make its way into your wardrobe! Wendy, TEACH ME YOUR WAYS! 6.5 miles seems impossible to me right now, so I am ridiculously impressed. Way to go pushing through that last half mile! Lise, my heart is so full thinking of the hard work…
  • Everyone else has offered amazing support and advice, so I'll just add more *hugs* to the mix!
  • YAY PAT!!! That's AMAZING! I'm so blown away by this, but not at all surprised considering your dedication.
  • Oh Cari I hope you know how much you deserve this! Each one of us deserves to be surrounded by supportive people, and I'm so glad that you've found someone special!
  • Wooooo!!! I hope you've been celebrating! Happy dances burn calories, after all!
  • CONGRATULATIONS! That is HUGE! What a fantastic accomplishment to celebrate! This group is truly wonderful. I missed you all while I was away, and yet it's been so easy to jump right back in. It's a strange thing to feel so bonded to people you only know through words on a screen, and not even in private conversation, but…
  • Nancy, I'm 95% sure that's the issue, actually. I just don't want to accept it! My husband is fine on 6.5-7 hours of sleep a night, but I'm just not that person. I usually get about 7-7.5, but even that's not enough. I really, truly need 8-9 hours regularly to be totally functional. Them's the breaks, I guess.
  • I AM AN INNOCENT YOUNG LADY! Well, that's not true at all. I just assumed you all were more proper. Shame on me!
  • Things are good here! Busy busy. Even leading up to graduation and the wedding, most weeks I had a couple of days with no obligations other than work so I could just relax, but lately I've had lots going on. All good things, mostly fun stuff. I've been getting out to walk at lunch and walking home from work so I've managed…
  • Glad to hear that you're pushing through the muck to take care of yourself. That is so hard and you deserve to be proud of that.
  • You all have amazing things going on! I'm so proud and excited for all of you :) Today I'm celebrating having a solid week of meeting my step goal and two days of getting above 17k.
  • Hah congratulations! It's kinda nice that you didn't notice, in a way, because you get to enjoy it after the fact, but you didn't have to feel weird about it during the actual conversation! I'm intrigued by the egg coffee... I might give it a try. I drank bulletproof coffee once and it was pretty tasty, but it just didn't…
  • Ooh good work -- getting into a good routine is such a satisfying feeling! I put together a budget with my estimated student loan payments ( :| ) and based on that, I'll be eating a lot of rice and beans for the foreseeable future! I've never been very good at sticking to a budget when it feels like I *should* have money.…
  • Recreation is important! Especially for a lady like you who seems to always be on the go.
  • Wooo how exciting and validating! Today I am celebrating that I hit my step goal for the first time in a while yesterday, even though I worked a full day and went to an event in the evening. Planning for it to be the start of a long streak!
  • Good afternoon! My week has been great! Busybusy still. Monday I met up with a good friend after work, yesterday was my last! class! ever! (for undergrad, at least), tonight is an awards ceremony, and tomorrow is a happy hour for my boss who is leaving the organization. I haven't gotten home before 10 pm the past couple of…

  • I'm loving all of these photos! SO wonderful to see the happiness in your lives! I'm starting to accept the fact that I think I'm lactose intolerant, which is a total bummer for a Wisconsin girl like me. I do okay with yogurt, some cheeses, and a tiiiiny bit of milk in my coffee, but if I have a full glass of milk or…

  • Oh, Zac, sending lots of positive thoughts going out to you, your niece, and the rest of her family. That kick line photo is great -- just love it! My week is going well so far. I changed one of the passwords I use multiple times a day at work to something that reminds me to eat foods that nourish me and do good things for…
