  • I think of my calories like money. Once I've spent them then I'm done until the next day (although on very rare occasions I overspend) and I use those calories on things I really want sometimes. I don't think you can totally deprive yourself and stick with that for life. Whatever we do it needs to be something that we can…
  • Are they really 1/3 of the calories though? The person that posted a comment on my diary made that claim but when I looked at what she was talking about she was comparing a much smaller patty to a 1/2 lb patty that I had in my diary. From what I've seen it looks like when you're comparing 100g veggie burger to a 100g 95/5…
  • No but I have read that eating locally grown honey can help with allergies.

  • I can't speak for how accurate that monitor is but if the core of your questions is do you burn calories lifting weights the short answer is YES. Anyone that claims you don't or can't get cardio lifting weights is 100% wrong.
  • I'm making these tonight... Thanks for sharing.
  • Yeah they might be calling you from a google or skype phone number or using an app that shows a totally different number all together. It is tougher to track down but it can be done.
  • Sounds like a pissed off chic to me. Is there some woman that feels you ruined her relationship with someone?
  • Call your phone provider and see if they can help you. Maybe they can at least tell you who the cell phone carrier is of the number and then you can call them and see if they can help. Tell them you are concerned for your safety.
  • Considering that not all of the calorie counts are perfect - 14 over is no big deal. Great job!
  • Google the professor at K State that went on an 1800 calorie per day diet of doritos, oreos, and nothing but junk food. He lost 20+ pounds and saw positive results in several health markers. Bottom line... Counting calories works!
  • IronManPanda... your pic freaked me out for a second. As I was glancing down the screen I thought you had a dirty pic! I'll just say I saw thighs and a piercing. Oh how the mind can screw with you.
  • I say start with the gallon of sangria and then move to the BBQ meat and then if you are still hungry have some chips. Enjoy the weekend!
  • I would say try the tech support forum or the suggestion forum.
  • Try weighing yourself in the mornings after you've disposed on the days previous intake. After a day of eating and drinking water your weight can vary by several pounds. I hit a streak of two weeks without a pound lost despite watching my calories and working out. However, I do measurements once a week and during that time…
  • Just for clarification this is not actually been proven through clinical studies. There are studies that are ongoing to determine if excessive protein can in fact cause kidney problems. However, doctors frequently advise people with kidney problems (or a family history) to avoid high protein, low carb diets for for long…
  • Same goes for me - feel free to add me.
  • For me this can't be a chore so I do not log every single spice unless I'm creating a recipe in MFP. I figure on a daily basis their nutritional value and caloric intake is minimal and like I said - I want it simple. I also have my goal set at 2,000 instead of the 2.200 it really is so that it allows for the little things…
  • I'm 42 and still fairly new to MFP. Feel free to add me - same goes for anyone else that needs friends.
  • The default protein intake on MFP is low. I changed personally changed mine to fit my goals. To answer your question - it will not hurt you to exceed the protein goal. I frequently take in more than 200g of protein a day and I feel great!
  • Supposedly burning a candle near where you're cutting the onions will eliminate the tears.
  • For me - naked. I figure different clothes and shoes weigh different amounts so I want to know what "I" weigh!
  • I like doing mine every morning after I shower and I do measurements once a week (Sunday nights).
  • I had lower back problems that plagued me for years and for which I had to go to a chiropractor for years to treat when I was younger. During a visit with a doctor it came up because it was on that list of pre-visit questions they give. He told me the best thing I could do is to build the muscles in my back and it would…
  • I like EAS's vanilla protein powder. I've had their whey as well as Myplex and like them both. You might also go to a GNC or some other health store because some of them have open bags in the back and can actually let you sample some. If not, get on some of the sites as some of the companies will send you samples.
  • Get on here and read posts until you go to bed!
  • It's perfect for smoothies. Look around - you can find one really cheap.
  • I have had mine for ~3 years now and over the last several months I have used it pretty much every day. It blends ice and frozen fruit without any problem at all. I know it is eventually going to quit so I have wondered if anyone has any experience with that Ninja blender that I've seen? I don't really want to go back to a…
  • Same here! It's just a part of my morning routine now. However, the best advice I took was to take some measurements. I have been stuck at 11 pounds lost for about a week, however, when I did my weekly measurements I had lost an inch from my neck and from my waist. Just another thought for you.
  • Yes lifting burns calories. I've noticed that too with MFPs log and I'm not sure why they would have calories burned for cleaning the house but not for lifting weights. PLUS any muscle that you build will burn even more calories even when you are at rest.
  • For me when I have to think about adding food to the journal it makes me think before I eat (or order) something. That doesn't mean I always skip what I want, but it does make me think about it so I can adjust my intake at other points in the day. Logging can help you for sure!
