  • I started c25k last January, so I've only been running a little over a year now. I am now training for a half marathon and my longest run has been 8 miles. The program works!! You are doing awesome; congrats on your run!!!

  • I've been on it for almost two years for anxiety and I can't say that it makes me more hungry. My Dr. actually put me on this one for the reason that it is one of the anxiety meds that is least likely to cause weight gain. Interesting how the same med can affect people differently.
  • Yes, pasta is a pain the butt to log. I agree that the best way to do it is to make your portion separately. Or, you could count how many noodles in a dry serving and then count out that many noodles after they're cooked, but that is a lot of extra effort (trust me, I've done it....I don't know why).
  • Happy birthday!! Mine is tomorrow and I'm planning on indulging a bit. I'm bringing some fancy cupcakes from a local bakery to work for my bday treat and I'm definitely having one. Other than that, though I do not have any plans to indulge. HOWEVER, the reason for that is because my hubby is working on eating healthy and…
  • I don't have cartilage in my left knee and that's the one that gives me troubles. It's mostly lunges. Squats only hurt if I do them after the lunges. I was hoping a sleeve would help, but might have to work on strengthening the muscles, too. Thanks for all of the advice!!
  • I was eyeing one up on Amazon by Rehband. Thanks!!
  • Different women respond to different BC differently. I've been on Depo for 15 years, only went off for about 3 years to get pregnant (stayed off between babies). Then, right back on after my second kiddo was born. I gained weight while on it, but that wasn't because of the Depo. That was because I loved food and hated…
  • I'm down 55 lbs and I'm constantly cold! I wear fleece lined tights under my jeans and two or three long sleeved shirts (two if I have a sweatshirt). It's ridiculous. Oh, and usually a scarf as well. And it's not uncommon for me to be wearing my winter hat around the office. It also doesn't help that the high here has not…
  • I've had my Apple Watch since May and I really love it. I actually find the HRM to be fairly accurate, so I'm assuming the calorie burn is accurate as well. The more you use it, the more accurate it gets because it gets to know your body. I use mine for all exercise I do. I mostly run, but I also use a stationary bike and…
  • Another lazy person here. I could totally sit around and do nothing all day....if I let myself. And, I'm not gonna lie. My workout is the ONLY activity I get on a lot of Saturdays and Sundays! I'm with the people who say working out is just part of their routine now. It's just something I have to do in the day; like waking…
  • I still put a 2 in front of my number and I'm at 178 as of this morning! I am still amazed that there is a one in front. I actually hit onederland twice, and it felt amazing both times. But, there is always a new number that I'm obsessing over. Now it's 166 because that will officially put me at overweight instead of…
  • I really don't like running on the treadmill, but it beats running in the freezing temps and ice and snow covered sidewalks :/ I did manage to do 6 miles on the treadmill last night. Previously I was only able to stave off boredom for 4 miles so I was happy with that. Having a high tempo running playlist is a must for me.…
  • I must admit that I am TERRIBLE with warming up. I don't usually have a whole lot of time to work out, so I always feel like I'm "wasting" time with a warm up. I know this isn't true and warming up is super important; I just need to change my mind set. I have been seeing lately that it is not recommended to do static…
  • Did three miles this morning, putting me at twelve total for the week. I'm well on my way to my goal of 40 for the month!
  • Did three miles tonight. Another run tomorrow and that will put me at five days running this week. That's two more than normal!
  • I did 1.5 last night. There is absolutely NO running on the calendar for me tonight. I did a core cardio class this morning and just getting in and out of my desk chair is tough! Time to rest these muscles a little :) Tomorrow will be a regular 3 miler, though.
  • I've had mine since May and I absolutely love it. I used to have a fitbit and a bodymedia armband and I find the watch to be much more accurate (the fitbit didn't have a hear rate monitor, so that makes sense).
  • I got it! I found it by looking in the new groups, but here is the link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/111112-10lb-january-challenge I think if you just copy that link, it should bring you to the group, but I'm not that tech savvy, so maybe not. Don't hate me if it doesn't work :)
  • I've got one day in of 3 miles and I did 1.5 yesterday. Another 3 is on the calendar for tonight, but I did a TRX class this morning and my legs are already feeling it so we'll see about 3 miles
  • I'm also having a hard time finding the group. Can you post the link or add me?
  • I'd love to join!
  • HI! I'm Jess and I live in Wisconsin, USA. I started running with the C25k app almost a year ago. Since I started running, I've done a handful of 5ks, a five mile race, and a 10k. I decided that this year I am going to do a half marathon. The one I'm looking at is in September, so I have quite a while to train. Since it's…
  • I'll get three in for sure. My workout schedule is usually three days running and three days of biking or weight training in between those. But I think I could do a quick 1.5 miler one of those days. It's a good challenge :)
  • Hi all! I did my first run of 2016 yesterday. I did three miles in 33 minutes. Distance is definitely my goal this year, but it's hard on a treadmill. It's cold here in the winter, so treadmill running will be my life until about April. The half I want to sign up for isn't until September, so I'll start fully training for…
  • I've had mine since May and I love it! I just had to send it in for warranty repair yesterday and it's the first time I haven't worn it since May and I feel lost, lol! I like that I can record my workouts and I can look back on all of them in the Activity on my phone. I find it to be a great tool for my running. I also…
  • Adderral suppresses your appetite, so you should be fine. Just make sure you're eating enough!
  • Is MFP listed as a Source in your Health app on your phone? I believe MFP actually pulls the data from your phone (based on info sent to your phone from your watch), so MFP would need to be listed as a source. One it's listed as a source, you should be able to add it on MFP.
  • I also have these ones and I love them. Have you tried switching the size of the earbud? Maybe the one you have in is too big? That is what happened to me, at least. Once I moved to the smaller bud, they worked great. ETA - Whoops! I see someone else has already suggested this :)
  • That's what I do, too. As long as you know there will be fluctuations and you don't really "gain" two pounds in a day, it's fine to weigh daily. I only log my weight once a week and that's Friday. Whatever my weight is that day, is what I call my "true" weight. The other days don't matter; it just helps keep me on track.
  • Yeah, I have the same problem. I commented on it when it was a tiny three page thread and now it has like 9,000 comments or something ridiculous like that and I get a notification for every single comment. I would also like to know if i can stop those notifications somehow.
