  • I like that idea. I drives me crazy when someone claims that they 'quit' a food because it was 'bad' for weight loss. There's this whole need for certain nutrients in your body thing that everybody forgets.
  • If I'm crazy sore I take a day just because I don't want to tear a muscle or something crazy. A little sore I work through it. Make sure to stretch really well because it will reduce the soreness and it will prevent injuries. And drink lots of water your body needs it.
  • I do a little of both. I enjoy jogging outside, can't stand the treadmill! And it does strengthen my legs a lot. But lifting will help the weight loss too. As your muscles build up they will utilize more energy for longer so that will help you as well. Strength training is also very important for women because it helps…
  • I do cringe a little at holding onto the treadmill handles, I can't help it. I know they are doing themselves a big disservice that way. But it happens in a half a second and I move on, I have my own goals in mind at the time. One thing that really gets me is people wearing heavy cologne/perfume. I have asthma so it really…
  • Of course, I rather like it actually. Don't have to worry about my husband being rude to the waitress, or my daughter needing to pee. It's pretty relaxing. People look at me weird sometimes, but for real, is there a rule that says a girl can't go buy herself lunch?
  • People who refuse to vaccinate their kids just drives me insane. Oh, irrational, well I really don't like people that much at all....
  • Same here, hypo and hyperthyroidism is still, although quite common, a bit of a mystery. They still don't know 100% what causes it, so of course it's incurable and unpreventable. Your best course of action right now is a second opinion. Sometimes they will do the bare minimum of tests that show normal but a more…
  • I agree, looks pretty yummy to me though!
  • None are really bad, I just try to stay away from dessert type things, but they also involve refined sugars and fats. Nothing is bad in moderation though.
  • Sounds like hypoglycemia, you just need some more for breakfast. Make your smoothie bigger or eat something in addition like nuts. Don't try to push through that or your gonna end up fainting one day. Nevermind, looks like you got it!!^^
  • Nuts, berries, baby carrots, really anything healthy you can keep in a bowl close by that you can grab every once in a while. You can also have a smoothie or a cup of soup to sip at. I don't really think it matters why the doc said that btw, OP is just looking for snacks.
  • Maybe you built up muscle under the fat? It tends to happen to me if I don't keep my lifting and cardio balanced well.
  • If you have recently started this routine you probably just need to adjust to it. Keep going and it'll improve as your body gets stronger. If it doesn't you might want to increase calorie intake or even talk to a doctor like mentioned above. I have Hashimoto's, which is basically under active thyroid, and it still, even on…
  • Cute! I want one! Great idea
  • Any exercise is better than sitting on the couch.
  • I don't, I'm usually attracted to people by what I see in their personality. All I see are pictures of people that could be any sort of person in real life.
  • No chest pain, it's better as long as I'm moving. Somebody said it could have been a very huge amount of toxins that was released from my muscles there too. I'm going to the Doc on Tuesday for the cough anyway so if it's still hurting I'll ask about it.
  • They should be happy for you. It shouldn't be a sensitive subject that you need to walk on eggshells on. I have had a few people get bored with me because I don't want to go out and party every weekend anymore, I guess if they don't want to find something else to do with me that involves healthier recreation they really…
  • I like the Protein Chef, as mentioned above, but he does use a lot of protein powder which I don't use too much. He's damn good to look at though! ;) I also like thefitnessrecipes.com. They have some good recipes, anything from breakfast to dinner and dessert too. They have recip es catered to weight loss, as well as other…
  • CoachK17----I'm just gonna go hide in the corner.....
  • Personally I fail when I allow a cheat day. I do so good, give myself a treat end up binging and it's downhill from there. I find it's better to allow myself a little chocolate (or whatever I'm craving) when I want it because the craving is satisfied and doesn't turn into the Hulk on cheat day.
  • I just didn't include protein because it was irrelevant to the thread. As I understand from studying anatomy and physiology as far as how long these sources last sugars are processed by the body the quickest, so they can burn out before you are ready to crash, but they are still needed by the body (ie keeping insulin…
  • I'd take lactose over refined sugars any day! I'm just not sure if that count on the nutrition label is refined or natural so i just go for the lower amount because sugar is my weakness throughout the day so I have plenty in my system, I don't need more. And thanks, somebody else said that they remove water from the yogurt…
  • herrspoons of course! Between sugar, fat and protein the one that should be consumed the least is sugar. That being said, even if it were possible to completely cut sugar one should not. Sugar is needed for normal body function too. Without it chaos ensues, especially for the pancreas. I have never looked at what they do…
  • The body burns sugar and fat for energy. Fat is a better source because it lasts longer. If you look at the labels on yogurt the low fat probably has more sugar than the full fat. Both are needed for your body, but let me tell you sugar is added to EVERYTHING so it' really easy to over do it.
  • Protein can be though of as not just a nutrient to feed your muscle, but the body uses it as a long-term energy source as well. So obviously don't take more than you need. My suggestion, unless you are working on a Fitness Pageant is don't get too crazy with it. Maybe a shake with breakfast, but don't underestimate the…
  • Yes, you're gonna lose it. Sorry but from the type of surgery your talking about you aren't even going to want to move for about a week. (I was down for a few days just after getting my tubes tied) <<sorry if that's TMI :) But anyway, you can lose your hard work after just a week of stopping it unless you have had a good…
  • Katherine I totally understand, I'm 5'7 and was told I should be 130. I suggested this to people I know and they said I would look sickly like that. I am about 180 and my profile pic is recent.
