  • Hi Spittingpink, I must first, re-emphasize the comments of others here. It is not only ill advised, but dangerous to remove ALL fat from your diet. To be honest, I am not sure that would be at all possible anyway. If it were, it would be extremely difficult and would almost certainly not give you the nutritional…
  • On that last point, about the diet break, I find you get a much more effective result, if you do allow the body time to adjust. In 6 months, I put on 6lbs, but have lost almost all of it in just 2 weeks! This time, I am going to keep going, so I can allow the 6lbs to take me up to the target weight, when it comes due to…
  • Having been one of those people, I can testify to that. :)
  • I couldn't resolve the code issue within the 1 hour of editing, so the pic is included in this response. Apologies for only halve the plate, but couldn't resolve whatever this was caused by within time allowed.
  • Sorry, do not buy this argument. My partner has been on a diet, for 9 weeks, weighting herself for the last 5. She said she couldn't tell she was loosing, or didn't feel she had lost, so I told her to weigh herself for proof of her loss. She did however acknowledge she was more active, more energy and her persona became…

  • You look absolutely amazing!! Well done. If you feel brave enough, it would be nice to see you, as you started, so that we could see what I am sure was an amazing change! Doing so, can also help give others confidence to keep on going. Love some of the scenery in the backgrounds too. Being in England, it is rare to find…
  • Impressive! But we aware that the initial weight loss will be much higher than future weights, because of the initial loss in water and also changes occurring in your body. As a construction worker, I would imagine your numbers would be much high, since this is a high energy job. Make sure you keep your proteins levels and…
  • Hi, I have to reiterate the views of many of the people in this forum. 6lb in 2 weeks is a phenomenal result. Remember you are looking for an AVERAGE loss of 2lb a week, NOT that amount EVERY WEEK. Although many of us would like to see the steady fall at the predicted weight loss, the body simply does not work that way. A…
  • Hi, It would be really helpful if you could open up your food diary, so we can offer more authoritative help. It also helps others to learn what works and what does not. :) I have sent you a private message in conjunction with a friend request to see if I might be able be of any further help. :) All the best.

  • Just keep away from the soap, or he might loose it altogether. ;)
  • With a sense of humour like this, all I can see is an expanding friends list. :) Well done!! REALLY made my day. My partner and I are in tears of laughter. My chest hurts I have been laughing so much. Watching those friends numbers increase as I write.:) All the best.
  • Definitely reduction in fat around the hips. Don't expect miracles. Everyone will loose at their own rate. For some it is faster than others. A LOT of things will affect the rate. Keeping a photo diary is a good way to see the difference over time. I do this (For medical reasons) and it definitely helps to show an…
  • Hi, 151 (8.5) at 2hrs is not overly high, and, at least for me, would not be worrying 2 hours after the main evening meal. (My largest meal is usually the evening meal. If you are the same then this is not that abnormal). Did you test the BS an hour later? That should give a much clearer indication of the underlying cause…
  • I think, if you make the diary public, it does publish. If you keep it private, then it does not. Personally, I prefer to share. I have learned from other diaries and I, HOPE, people can learn from mine. One really good example is QUARK cheese. I had never heard of it. Love cheese and HATE cottage cheese. Quark Cheese was…
  • I think the thinking behind this was that if you go under, and it is advertised, it might encourage the more experienced "Friends/Members" to look at the diary to see if there are any pit falls you should be watching out for. Although the same could be said if you go over and, as you have rightly said, this is not…
  • Ironic, I eat baked potato several times a week and have to test my blood sugar, just before and 2 hours after (Due to diabetes) I RARELY find it has this effect on me. Last night was a good example. For ME, it was fresh bakers bread (PARTICULARLY) Bloomers. They ARE high in carbs and I could EASILY eat a 1/3- to half a…

  • Happy to share diaries if you are looking for friends. I am diabetic, so have to control sugar intake but been at this for a year now, although I lost my mid way through, due to hospitals, ill health and a lack of determination. (Been back on track for a little while now though and have some friends in real life and from…
  • I might be the exception, since I am diabetic, but if I have have had a day with lots of excercise I sometimes NEED to eat at night in order to ensure the blood sugars do not dip too low. Under normal, routine circumstances, I would not, normally, eat after 6pm, but it is by no means a hard and fast rule. It all depends on…
  • Hi, I took a look at your diary. Firstly, it is too soon to gain anything significant from it. You need at least a week to be able to offer any authoritative comments. However, there are a few points I could make. Firstly, you are not drinking enough. The 8 glasses a day is really important. If you follow the MFP then you…
  • Log in everyday, record everything and, if you are true to yourself, you will loose weight. :) However, I find that a walk around the block 3 times a day helps too. Of course, if you have a dog, this is easier to do. :)
  • If you do, make sure you leave details. (The link to make a group is http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups if you need it). I would love to join the group but am in a wheelchair, so my exercise needs to be tailored a little more, :)
  • Hi Thanks for the welcome. If I can support others in anyway I am willing to try. I think this site does well on it's own though. The amount of support here is phenominal. :)
  • Hi, I have to take warfarin, to prevent blood clots. Because it is so sensitive to alcohol it virtually rules out drink., I had 3 alcoholic drinks the whole of last year. Since then I developed diabetes, which is also sensitive to alcohol, so now don't drink at all.
