I bought a swimming suit...two piece with the skirtini on the bottom, it helps to hide a bit of the bigger parts!!! My children are finally all in swim lessons without me but we do a lot of beaches in the summer so I would like to be semi-comfortable!!! Kim

I train with The Running Room in Canada and our long runs are done by running for 10 minutes and walking 1 minute. I do all my races this way...it is great mentally to know that you have a little break coming up and if you get into racing you can time the walks for at the water stations.

Do your calves hurt after you take a walk break? They could be extremely tight from starting running and perhaps if you are able to get in for a massage on them then that would help. Lots of water, if I get dehydrated I get so tired. Also, I find that I have more energy if I eat some extra protein with each meal instead of just carbs.

I really struggle with this as well. I try to do a mental picture of something else providing me comfort instead of food. When I start thinking how I just want to sit down and eat, I will instead picture myself reading a good book while snuggled under a blanket and having a cup of tea.
