Super filling afternoon snack drink
I've never been one for smoothies or shakes/juices in place of food but I stumbled on a really filling hot drink when trying to avoid Starbucks the other day. A cup of cashew milk (25 cals) and couple spoons of Cadbury's drinking chocolate (72 cals for the 18g "serving"), a small spoon of instant espresso and a sprinkle of…

371 cals left for dinner after a cookie incident...
... by which I mean I shopped for, baked, and ate 850 calories worth of cookies after eating a perfectly good breakfast and lunch. Seemed like a good idea at the time. So what do I do with my 371 cals? I did hit the gym this morning but I think the cookies gave me back enough energy I could hit the treadmill for a bit.

Is this recomping?
I reached my GW of 135 in March of this year and started doing resistance training at that time. I am hovering around 137-139 currently and my measurements are about the same. Is it safe to say those extra pounds are muscular? I am having such a hard time accepting the weight increase as a sign of success, and at the same…

Is the app faster with Premium?
Some days it makes me want to throw my phone on the floor it's so laggy. Does the lack of ads with Premium make any difference at all?

What would you make?
How about a thread to liven up our pantry possibilities? Post a bunch of ingredients you have on hand but are uninspired by, and people can suggest some way to cook with it all.

Does anyone Bullet Journal?
In spite of enjoying technology for its own sake and appreciating the ease of accessing data from apps and the like, I have found a lot of value in a paper "journal." I've been carrying a notebook for a while now but also discovered "bullet journals" last year and have found that mapping out a week or a day and being…

Flavor drops in a store?
Is there any chain kind of store that sells the stevia or protein flavor drops I hear people talking about on here?

Create your own fad diet!
First of all give it a good sciencey sounding name, bonus points for hybridizing it with some holistic practices. What is your pseudo-science base claim? What is your outrageous promise? How are you going to make your money? Paid app and ebook are a given.

Up pounds, down inches
How do you get your head around "gainz" after being in weight loss mode for so long? I've been eating at maintenance for two and a half months or so and at that time I got a gym membership and have been lifting regularly. The weights make me really hungry some days but I've tried to stay in my maintenance calories and…

Kimchi
Kimchi rice, anyone? A little cup of minute rice and some quick sautéed veggies with chopped up kimchi - maybe stick an egg on it. I had ground turkey and added that in yesterday, maybe some tofu tonight. What flavour profiles work with it do you think?

Calorie burn for goat wrestling?
I kid (pun intended) but I certainly feel like I earned a little extra something for an hour go-round with this guy and the vet today. What kind of functional fitness have you found yourself on the receiving end of lately that you wish you knew the burn for?

Crazy hunger today!
I did a fairly heavy arms workout this morning and my hunger was just out of control all day. I ended up about 350 over cals which is not horrible but really out of the ordinary for me. Was it the lifting? How does maintenance and building muscle work? My brain is locked in to the CICO balance I've come to understand in…

40lbs on 5'5 before and after
Started last June but got serious in October. I've now been maintaining for a month. All in the CICO :)

Costco halibut
I picked up a bag of frozen halibut from Costco yesterday, thought I was getting a great deal but mistook a price per pound for the price per bag but wow worth it! This dinner came to about 400 cals and I am super full. I use this veg mix a lot - Italian kale, tomatoes, zucchini, bell peppers and some garbanzos (I wanted…

Last few pounds
I've had a pretty successful time losing the weight I have needed to get off, and taken comfort in the non-linear nature of my loss. I weigh every day, so seeing the lumps and bumps but overall downward trend meant I was never annoyed at the scale. Until now. I am just a few pounds from my goal weight and the ups and downs…

When you know you feel full but still want to eat more
I often wonder what is going on when you've had a good meal, really do feel full, often to the point of that nice little satisfied 'pain' of a full stomach, but you still crave that mouth feel of more food. I just had a really nice home made beef stew and it was a good sized portion (filled my bowl and then went back for…

Calorie conscious white bread
What are your favourite white bread products that are lighter in calories? I found some pitas I really like, and some ok sandwich thins. I like the Ezekiel bread just fine but sometimes I just really want a big old white roll without budgeting elsewhere so much. Curious what's out there that I don't know about yet!

Giving myself a little break
I didn't have as much weight to lose as a lot of pals on here, but I have been working diligently since last June to shed my excess. At 145 now I'm really close to my original goal of 139, down from mid 170s, but all of a sudden I'm feeling worn out on it. I've gone from keen to work out ten days ago to "well let's get…

Best low impact exercise
I've been running on my treadmill and really enjoying it but have developed a little tendonitis in one foot. I'd like to rest it a little but need something to replace the cardio and calorie burn that's more low impact. What do you guys like to do in that vein?

Provide Your Sources

Free weight moves for the back and arms
I am looking for ways to work on my back and upper arm muscles using just free weights. I don't have a bench, just a mat and my weights. I do superman rows and back flies bent over for back, and my other free weight moves seem to be working my shoulders more than anything. I'm not averse to finding a bench but if I can…

How to log home made pickle
I have made a little banh mi pickle that contains the following: 3oz daikon 3oz carrot 3oz onion 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup rice vinegar Water I'd say it is about 4 generous portions, and the recipe builder puts that at 115 calories a serving. Does that sound high? The majority of the liquid used for the pickling will not be…

I know there is a link to see discussions you've started, but I would be interested to see all my replies so I can keep up with threads I've posted in.
